In 1988 I bought a corroded BSA A65. It was in a metal shed in Ohio and sat for over 10 years. I paid 40 dollars for it. I started dis -assembly and found the entire top end was rebuilt and never fired. I cleaned up the outside corrosion and use the top end on a 1966 BSA t-Bolt! A lot of other parts were salvageable and between myself and the Club we made good use of them

Many of us are hoarders to some extent, tho very few on this scale. One can be critical on an individual basis, but personally l feel it is such a good thing when parts and complete bikes are stored in relatively good conditions, as years later they can keep the bikes of enthusiasts on the the road or complete a resto. It would be much sadder if these parts, engines etc were found in a tumble down shack and beyond re use. Those who drew this collection together knew what they were doing. Thanks to them
