Had a 2nd cluster shot yesterday. It literally has knocked me out, extreme fatigue and joint pain yesterday it came on hours after I had the shots and left the dr.s office and I fell asleep for the rest of the day. Today it’s no better and now I have achiness and joint pain all over. I believe there is something to what one of the commenter is saying about the possibility that cluster shots can trigger an autoimmune disorder. I’m stopping the cluster shots right away after experiencing these side effects to. Scary stuff!

I suffer from Relapsing Polychondritis, an immune-mediated inflammatory disease, I developed the disease at the age of 13 in the distant 2002 during the application of allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT).
Because allergen-specific immunotherapy causes changes in the immune system, it is possible that it may influence the induction of diseases mediated by the immune system, such as autoimmune diseases, even some doctors point to the induction of autoimmunity as one of the possible consequences of long term of the ITE. It appears that increased concentrations of IL-10 and TGF-B, as well as changes in the Th2/Th1 balance, could lead to autoimmune problems in people undergoing SIT. Relapsing Polychondritis is a Th1-mediated condition.
In the medical literature there are several cases published over several years such as that of Dr. Ghorschi et al, “Manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis during subcutaneous allergen-specific immunotherapy”, “Scleroderma related to specific immunotherapy. Maciel BM Clinical Case, Morphine BM.” “Turkcapar N, M. Sjogren’s syndrome induced by specific immunotherapy.”, Pemphigoid-like reaction by allergen-specific immunotherapy: an unusual adverse reaction Margarita Tomás-Pérez, among others.
The MDs, PhDs. Allan Linneberg and Andrzej Bozek carried out investigations where the cases of autoimmune disease that have occurred during or after the application of Specific Immunotherapy published in the medical literature are pointed out, their conclusion is that the development of autoimmune diseases in patients with allergic diseases undergoing SIT it is rare, but as a precautionary principle it is extremely important to evaluate people in terms of the risk of autoimmunity before the application of allergen-specific immunotherapy.
There are several cases of people who have developed autoimmune diseases during this treatment, many of these cases have not been published, and as Dr. Linneberg mentions, it is a sensitive issue that important measures must be taken.
In the main guidelines for the use of specific immunotherapy, such as the EAACI and the DGAKI, this delicate topic is mentioned.
Research and published cases acknowledge the great ignorance and uncertainty that prevails in this area and calls for a strong precautionary principle in relation to autoimmune diseases and allergen-specific immunotherapy.
I was treated negligently by a member of the National Council of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (CONICA) in Mexico, my case was not published in the literature.

I'm just curious if you having a stronger reaction to a high-concentration and they lower it down because it was too much will you end up getting it again during maintenance? My place is once a month not every two weeks. The build up was like 1 -2 shots per week for four months.

After a year of shots, what symptoms would confirm the allergy shots were not as effective as needed and shots would be discontinued?

I wonder why I have been getting them for over 15 years? I have asked my doctor when is it supposed to end and I can’t get him to pin down a time. I have been responding well and only during the allergy season do I get some mild enough symptoms .

Are these shots effective? I mean I have severe dust mite allergies. I am looking for options for treatment. Medications seem to be not working now.

@@muhammadshadman-xq1bofor me personally, i take allergy shots for dust mites too, and I’d like to think they are effective. I’ve only started last year, but I do notice an improvement between shots. A lot of it also depends on your specific ent or doctor you’re seeing though. I’ve tried two different allergy shot strategies with two different doctors. One where I take 2 shots a week while taking allergy medicine, and the other I take two shots on the same day with no allergy medicine. With The former, I actually felt pretty good despite the moderate reaction I would have, which included golfball sized swelling and itching in the area. With the latter, I actually do feel very blah, and noticed a bit of an increase in depression, which can be a symptom of allergies, surprisingly. Just wanted to share my experience, I hope it goes well for you.

That is odd, usually it stops after you've been on maintenance for 4-5 years. that is odd to be doing it for 15 years. Though I do know usually an allergist will ask if you if you just want to continue it longer but they should have asked....I would stop that is nuts!
