@@amritarajamani Funny thing about that. My laziness got the better of me. I purchased the a53 when I discovered a problem with my a71's charging. I managed to get fast charging working again, so I'm delaying switching phones for now. The a53 is just sitting there collecting dust at the moment. It's there when I'm ready to switch, but I'm dragging my feet on that. The a71 and the a53 are similar enough that I will not likely notice much of a difference between them, except for the lack of a headphone jack and better speaker(s).
First, just because there is no card slot doesn't make it an iphone. second, it's stupid easy to drag and drop files to a pc wirelessly with dex. and third, I want to know how you plan to fill 128gb worth of storage. with all my normal apps, some games, some emulators, and like 16gb of music. i still have 55gb free.

A significant aspect that was omitted in the review is that the S21 FE has a physical proximity sensor while the A53 has an unreliable virtual proximity sensor.
@@jcblocka7477 It kind of does. You realize that sensor is critical only when you don't have it and need to deal with a display that behaves erratically sometimes. I also don't like walking around like a peasant with a lit screen while talking on the phone or accidentally tapping on the dialpad during a conversation.
@@TheDarkPacific From direct experience talking on that phone and watching friends talking on their A53. I said it's unreliable, I didn't say it never works. It works if you always press the phone on your face exactly in the way that it expects you to (a wide area of the top edge of the touchscreen needs to make firm physical contact with the skin). It will not work if the phone isn't pressed hard enough or if the screen touches on a hat or a hood that you're wearing. The hardware proximity sensor will work 100% reliably all the time even if the phone isn't pressed against the skin. It will actually detect obstacles from around 1 cm away. That sensor is also used by the firmware to detect "in-pocket" or "screen/face down" conditions.
Bought the A53. I am not disappointed. One thing I have noticed however is that the "fast charging" from the 50%+ range seems to hover around 18 watts. Haven't tried it yet from a 0% brick, so it could be a full 25 watts starting from zero, but also I almost never let my battery get down to zero. Also should note that the phone comes with "RAM Plus" already running at 4 GB of allocation of the 128 GB storage memory... it doesn't act like 6 GB plus 4 GB extra RAM, but kind of like a paging file for your 6 GB of RAM to use. This is a plus for those who switch between a lot of apps that are not performance intensive, but could be unnoticeable or even a detriment to those running numerous instances of various hungry apps like Asphalt 9 or video encoding.
I've had my a53 for about a week now and love it I switched from a Motorola and while there are some features I miss from my Motorola once I began using the a53 I remembered why I loved Samsung so much

Something viewers should be aware of if it matters to you, is that in this video you will not see how much crisper / nicer the S21 FE panel looks compared to the A53 which still looks great. I went to Best Buy, and had both phones on the same brightness, color settings, etc side by side, and it was noticeable how much nicer the S21 FE panel looked. For me it doesn't matter because the A53 still looks incredible, and is much cheaper than the S21 FE. It's not as powerful, but I'm looking to buy an A53 as an MP3 player, so I can preserve my iPhone a bit longer.
My Huawei Mate 20 Pro is broken and had noted the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE and also the S20 FE because the difference between the two is not that big. Actually, the first thing I had in mind (because of the shop) was the A52, because it's not bad in itself and I don't have to pay anything extra for the model, then I somehow thought I'd rather pay something extra for a better device and googled a bit. Added to my notes were the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7. It shouldn't be more expensive than the Pixel 7 and I don't think I can find anything better in the price range, but I can't decide between these products. They are all fast and the display and the battery are very important to me, so that I can manage a day without any problems. Maybe someone has an opinion, suggestion or other smartphone options?
@TwinTurbo Ray not entirely true. Not sure how the difference is in the case of the S21 FE but there have been various differences in battery life, camera and performance noted by users between the Exynos and Snapdragon variants of the S20, Note 20 etc

But i had the Motorola one ace 5g and the battery on that 5000mah vs fe 4500 is crazy different the Motorola lasts forever the fe dies around 8-10 hours. The phone gets stupid hot compared the motorola and i do doordash and the app straught up doesnt work on this phone but it does on the Motorola. So idk maybe i got a lemon. With that being said i like the phone just dont know if i like for what i do. If you just use it personally no apps running all day and 10 hours is enough battery life for you and you cannget it for cheaper than msrp i say go for it i dont see why the phone couldnt last a few years.

I've used both because my friend has the a53 and I didn't check the camera which was a mistake and I bought it because it was fast and the audio volume/bass beat my old S9 but the camera sucks and she lied. The 21 FE blows the A53 away. I am going to the store tomorrow and getting the s21 fe. It was only $100 more because I switched carriers. It's worth it to me.
@@mhans311 I travel a lot. Its nice to have for plugging in to the hotel tv. Ive got my streaming apps and emulator can even do some work on it. I'll use it with a computer monitor every once in a while when I don't feel like firing up my gaming PC to just browse the web.

So with my S10e I got used to having it and hooking it up to hotel tvs and having all my streaming apps at the ready, bring a Bluetooth controller and I have my emulators fired up. I also have a gaming monitor I can hook it up to at home if I want to do some browsing without firing up my gaming pc. So for me it was a real nice to have the last few years
You did not mention the battery power, which is an interesting difference of the both. S21 FE better in everything but the batter for the A53 lasts for ever.
instead of releasing the s21 fe they should've released an s22 fe with alongsides the other s22 models at 599 as the s21+ could be picked up for around $749 vs this costing $699 in that case who would buy this s21 fe or I like to call this the s21 fu just like the tab s7 fu high prices and dowgraded specs.
The whole point of an FE model is that they can resell old spec phone for cheaper and capture the crowd of people who dont need the latest and greatest but want a good phone. Releasing the 22FE at 599 is literally shooting yourself in the foot at the start of the finish line and undercutting all the other options you offer with your own product. Why by the regular s22 when the s22fe has the same chip and a bigger screen lmao. Or the s22+ when the fe is cheaper.

The S21 FE basically is a S22 FE as it came out pretty much alongside the S22 series and even started with android 12 meaning it will have the same amount of updates as the S22 series.
Fun fact, you get free galaxy buds with the A53, partially solving the headphone jack absence. But also no wireless charging means you can't power share to them.
Buds pro are the best and perfect, I use them. They have good ANC but not as good as air pods pro but they have everything else and they cost twice as less.
I pulled a 1676 on my A32 via geekbench! I'm so wanting a new phone but I'm waiting to see what comes out or if it's nothing that amazing, I'm good with the 32 and ppl should give it a little more credit it does so much for being a device that was given away for free at metro.
Keep in mind my phone is super clean internally and I did some personal tweaks with out over clocking it. That's how I pulled the score I did. Developer options is open, I formatted my SD to "expand" my internal memory, along with getting rid of all the bloat and disabling apps that aren't used.
@@neferpitou. you go into your storage swipe right to your SD card top corner three dots should give you advanced settings then you format it and it will turn it into internal storage. I seen it off another video last week the dude was using a A32.
@@neferpitou. I just did a pull on geekbench and it was 1669 multicore which sits between the xaiomi note 8 pro and the poco x3 just shy of being between the poco x3 and the f1 score wise.
53 is a downgrade compared to last year's 52 model. I see the trend of downgrading devices and keeping the price the same is spreading from Motorola to other phone makers
The a53 has been sluggish and slow but a fix seems to be nova launcher instead the Samsung launcher. It makes the phone pretty fast in most things. Also using navigation bar instead gestures seems to be much smoother. Also using google keyboard instead Samsung's keyboards works better. P.S. what seems to be one of the main issues is that the phone actually out of the box is only set to 4gb ram. U should change that under device care memory after u select 6GB Ram phone will restart and the setting stays like that.

I got the S21 FE today for 380$ at Xfinity Mobile with An Upgrade not bad I got a good Deal and phone feels and does what the S series Flagships can do for less $$ , I recommend this in May 3 , 2022
consider putting the same wallpaper on both phones when you do a comparison because the wallpaper on the fe does not do it justice whatsoever... that's a very dull wallpaper ...where the other one is a very vibrant clorful wallpaper that showcases its vibrance. at this point, I know nothing about the screen on the FE because it doesn't do it justice ...it doesn't show me what its capable of.

I bought the A53 5G. Unfortunately it was probably built on a Monday as I had many problems with it. Samsung could not get it to work either and refunded my money. Might get a Note 20 around the holidays if the price drops.
You said that they both have wireless charging ? My A53 5G does not have wireless charging - I have tried on several of my wireless chargers and it does not respond

Well it is already June so definitely A53 5G is not a competition for s21 FE meaning the price of both already dropped so go for s21 FE instead without hesitating lol!
Pass on both, no 3.5 jack and the FE stand for Failed Edition for not having the SD slot. Still currently getting the Moto G100, the SD870 is good enough GameCube emulation and I prefer the fingerprint sensor on the power button, plus it has the 3.5 jack and a SD slot.
Stop the cap man, Failed Edition really? Its certainly one of the best phones in its price. I wouldnt even touch that Moto because of the dismal software and software updates. Do not even mention the cameras to me. Both the S21 FE and A53 are miles better than that Moto phone. Displays, performance, battery, cameras, design, the Moto doesnt even come close to both Samsung phones. And both Samsung phones start out at 128GB and 256GB, so its more than enough for me especially when it is fasf storage. The water resistance is there too for the Samsu gs while the Moto doesnt even have anything clos3 to that. Based on your comments here, you like trolling around comment sections concerning Samsung phones. Nothing even comes close to Samsung at this point. The Oneplus was good, but it fell off really bad because of its parent company.

Well I think the s21fe will have a better vibrator probably better than the a53 since the usually cheap out on that on low and mid range phones but most people can live without good vibrations

I had the Samsung A70. I was waiting for the A73 which has not come out this year. So i was thinking the Samsung A21fe or the Samsung A53. The Samsung 21fe has no micro sd card. The was a big decision not to get the 21FE. The Samsung A53 has micro sd. And as for the jack port. Its a thing of the past. All headphones and buds now are Bluetooth. Not many people now adays use cable earphones
The Exynos is garbage compared to the Snapdragon, why I would never buy the A53. At least here in the US the S21 FE has the Snapdragon which makes it a better buy. If someone can find the A53 at a cheaper price than buy it. A shame some markets/countries don’t have the Snapdragon variant. Thanks 👍
try living with the phone for months then give a review..these types of reviews are useless. The a52/53 fingerprint scanner is dogshit and doesnt work when you really need to unlock the phone...s21 fe is wayy more reliable from what im seeing.

i bought the s21 instead, i don't care about the micro sd because the storage is already massive and it has wireless charging in case if the usb plug of the phone becomes unusable after many years just like it happened to my razer phone 2.,
I'm torn between the 2 because 2 coworkers differ on which one they think i should get. i have an lg aristo 5 at the moment. The samsung i wanted 2 or 3 yrs ago wasn't in the metro i was in and they talked me into the lg. But, one coworker says the phones that start with an S are better then the ones that start with an A. I forget the reason he gave. The other coworker said i should get the other because as an existing customer, near $50 to upgrade is better than near $200. Other reasons, too, but that was the main one. Reviews i've read for both are not very helpful, but after this video i am kinda leaning to the a53. One thing i really don't like is how much taller phones seem to be getting. Soon they'll be the size of an iPad. Who has a pocket big enough to fit those? 😁
The S are flagships but A aren't. so the S might last you longer, the a53 is good if you don't play games and just want it for work or just browsing .my brother has an a53 and I have an s21 fe and there isn't a high difference, the a53 is a bit bigger but it's the same size as a galaxy note 8 from years ago so I don't think they have had a very big difference in size
Excellent ! Samsung A53 5g looks so much more modern and actually more expensive than 21 fe. I'll buy the A53 because there's so little difference between them that it's not worth paying the extra $ 350. Plus for me, design is an important element. And the S21 fairy does not appeal to me at all for that price tag. Then you can buy Oneplus 9 pro instead and you get the hang of it!
In my opinion the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is way better. I'm a normal human being, for photos i use a real 5K$ Camara, for Gaming i use a GramingPC. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has more features for less money (SD Card Slot etc.)
I recently got the s21 fe 5g, previously had a note 20 and its a major drop the 120hz refresh rate is unusable, there is almost a constant lag on the phone when opening apps, switching between apps and even just dragging the task bar down. South Africa

A 71 5g was a fantastic phone.
A53 wins by default because it has an SD card slot, just like all real android phones should have. If I wanted an iPhone, id buy an iPhone.

A53 5g has my vote, has it has suck to the Micro sd card slot which I wished all phones still have.
For future reviews, consider comparing the exynos variant as well as (unfortunately) not every part of the world get the snapdragon processor

Even the 3x optical zoom is enough for me to choose over A53.

I've used both because my friend has the a53 and I didn't check the camera which was a mistake and I bought it because it was fast and the audio volume/bass beat my old S9 but the camera sucks and she lied. The 21 FE blows the A53 away. I am going to the store tomorrow and getting the s21 fe. It was only $100 more because I switched carriers. It's worth it to me.
How has your experience been so far?

S21FE has water resistance, wireless charging, wireless power share, and Samsung dex(built in desktop PC).
The A53 also has water resistance of IP67. But yes the S21FE does have extra features
If the A53 had DEX it would be my choice. I just ordered an S21FE with a trade in, but it was a hard choice
Dex would be fun to play around with, but I can't see myself using it in any serious way.
@@mhans311 I travel a lot. Its nice to have for plugging in to the hotel tv. Ive got my streaming apps and emulator can even do some work on it. I'll use it with a computer monitor every once in a while when I don't feel like firing up my gaming PC to just browse the web.
DEX is great for a Galaxy Tablet but do you really need it on a phone?

So with my S10e I got used to having it and hooking it up to hotel tvs and having all my streaming apps at the ready, bring a Bluetooth controller and I have my emulators fired up. I also have a gaming monitor I can hook it up to at home if I want to do some browsing without firing up my gaming pc. So for me it was a real nice to have the last few years

You did not mention the battery power, which is an interesting difference of the both. S21 FE better in everything but the batter for the A53 lasts for ever.
My fe battery is so disappointing i didnt realize the difference a 5000mah would make (what my old phone had) also this sucker gets HOT
instead of releasing the s21 fe they should've released an s22 fe with alongsides the other s22 models at 599 as the s21+ could be picked up for around $749 vs this costing $699 in that case who would buy this s21 fe or I like to call this the s21 fu just like the tab s7 fu high prices and dowgraded specs.
The whole point of an FE model is that they can resell old spec phone for cheaper and capture the crowd of people who dont need the latest and greatest but want a good phone.
Releasing the 22FE at 599 is literally shooting yourself in the foot at the start of the finish line and undercutting all the other options you offer with your own product.
Why by the regular s22 when the s22fe has the same chip and a bigger screen lmao. Or the s22+ when the fe is cheaper.

Release the s22 fe for $599 putting a 5.8" display and s21/s21+ sensor rather then mid range sensors instead, that way people who love the iphone 12 and 13 mini have a competitor and aren't forced to buy iphones cause alot of people I know bought iphone because u get the opition of under 6" 5.4" i feel like to small having a 5.8" model is a perfect size to have. 5.8" for the s23 fe then 6.2" for the s23 than s23+ be 6.6" and the ultra 6.8-7.2" anywhere in between, the s10 e was a great phone and we need something like it something more flagship and a smaller screen size edition, the s10 e was the best entry level flagship phone and no one can convince me other wise, the s20 fe was great not as good as the s10 e
The S21 FE basically is a S22 FE as it came out pretty much alongside the S22 series and even started with android 12 meaning it will have the same amount of updates as the S22 series.
Fun fact, you get free galaxy buds with the A53, partially solving the headphone jack absence. But also no wireless charging means you can't power share to them.

Buds pro are the best and perfect, I use them. They have good ANC but not as good as air pods pro but they have everything else and they cost twice as less.

I pulled a 1676 on my A32 via geekbench! I'm so wanting a new phone but I'm waiting to see what comes out or if it's nothing that amazing, I'm good with the 32 and ppl should give it a little more credit it does so much for being a device that was given away for free at metro.
Keep in mind my phone is super clean internally and I did some personal tweaks with out over clocking it. That's how I pulled the score I did.
Developer options is open, I formatted my SD to "expand" my internal memory, along with getting rid of all the bloat and disabling apps that aren't used.

@@neferpitou. you go into your storage swipe right to your SD card top corner three dots should give you advanced settings then you format it and it will turn it into internal storage. I seen it off another video last week the dude was using a A32.
@@neferpitou. I just did a pull on geekbench and it was 1669 multicore which sits between the xaiomi note 8 pro and the poco x3 just shy of being between the poco x3 and the f1 score wise.
53 is a downgrade compared to last year's 52 model. I see the trend of downgrading devices and keeping the price the same is spreading from Motorola to other phone makers
A53 is an upgrade from a52, not A52s. But i agree, the headphone jack was gone

The a53 has been sluggish and slow but a fix seems to be nova launcher instead the Samsung launcher. It makes the phone pretty fast in most things. Also using navigation bar instead gestures seems to be much smoother. Also using google keyboard instead Samsung's keyboards works better.
P.S. what seems to be one of the main issues is that the phone actually out of the box is only set to 4gb ram. U should change that under device care memory after u select 6GB Ram phone will restart and the setting stays like that.
I also turned off animations in accessibility settings, makes this LIGHTYEARS faster.

Interesting no mention of bloatware that A series supposedly have and S series do not. Also no emphasis on wireless charging not available on the A53.
consider putting the same wallpaper on both phones when you do a comparison because the wallpaper on the fe does not do it justice whatsoever... that's a very dull wallpaper ...where the other one is a very vibrant clorful wallpaper that showcases its vibrance. at this point, I know nothing about the screen on the FE because it doesn't do it justice ...it doesn't show me what its capable of.

I bought the A53 5G. Unfortunately it was probably built on a Monday as I had many problems with it. Samsung could not get it to work either and refunded my money. Might get a Note 20 around the holidays if the price drops.
And two weeks later, 4 phone calls later, I am still waiting for my refund. I'm getting ready to guy a new 65in tv and samsung is off of the list!

The A53 5G is as smooth as the iPhone 12 I just got rid of, the only thing it lacks is camera quality in low lighting but thats about it

Pass on both, no 3.5 jack and the FE stand for Failed Edition for not having the SD slot.
Still currently getting the Moto G100, the SD870 is good enough GameCube emulation and I prefer the fingerprint sensor on the power button, plus it has the 3.5 jack and a SD slot.
I like Motorola too. If only they had a better track record with software updates on their phones. It's hard to beat Samsung's software update policy.

Stop the cap man, Failed Edition really? Its certainly one of the best phones in its price. I wouldnt even touch that Moto because of the dismal software and software updates. Do not even mention the cameras to me. Both the S21 FE and A53 are miles better than that Moto phone. Displays, performance, battery, cameras, design, the Moto doesnt even come close to both Samsung phones. And both Samsung phones start out at 128GB and 256GB, so its more than enough for me especially when it is fasf storage. The water resistance is there too for the Samsu gs while the Moto doesnt even have anything clos3 to that. Based on your comments here, you like trolling around comment sections concerning Samsung phones. Nothing even comes close to Samsung at this point. The Oneplus was good, but it fell off really bad because of its parent company.

Strange how with every single phone review on all of UA-cam not one single review says anything about the vibration of any unit for example I no for a fact the the sound and vibration suck on the s20 fe and the s21 fe and on the a51 up to the a53 the sound and vibration are superior to the s20 fe and the s21 fe witch in my opinion means alot...if you put the so called s20 or s21 fe in your pocket you will not even feel the vibration hardly at all ...so I think a review should be a real review on everything so people can get a true read on the phones.....in my opinion I suggest nobody even bother looking at any of the fe models as they should not even bare the 's' letter by putting the 's' on the fe it could only stand for ......wait for it.........shit.....that's what it stands for on that model ....dive right into the a53 guys it won't disappoint
Well I think the s21fe will have a better vibrator probably better than the a53 since the usually cheap out on that on low and mid range phones but most people can live without good vibrations

I don't think I no hands on I had both s20 and s21 fe and I returned them just for that very reason and got the a51 and now have the a53 .....and both are double stronger in sound and vibration....for me like I said I need the sound and vibration working good because of the work environment I'm in..
my redmi note 10 pro is much louder than my s20 fe by far. it's even louder than my S22 ultra.

Not good but you don't really have much of a choice on phone options like this unless you are willing to pay end end prices for a flagship. Not me. A mid-ranger all the way for me.

I had the Samsung A70. I was waiting for the A73 which has not come out this year. So i was thinking the Samsung A21fe or the Samsung A53. The Samsung 21fe has no micro sd card. The was a big decision not to get the 21FE. The Samsung A53 has micro sd. And as for the jack port. Its a thing of the past. All headphones and buds now are Bluetooth. Not many people now adays use cable earphones

The Exynos is garbage compared to the Snapdragon, why I would never buy the A53. At least here in the US the S21 FE has the Snapdragon which makes it a better buy. If someone can find the A53 at a cheaper price than buy it. A shame some markets/countries don’t have the Snapdragon variant. Thanks 👍

S21 FE is a lower end flagship whereas A73 and A53 are higher end midrange phones
The midrangers are the a series m series and f series the flagships are the s series and as the s21fe is a s series it's a flagship 💁♂️

try living with the phone for months then give a review..these types of reviews are useless. The a52/53 fingerprint scanner is dogshit and doesnt work when you really need to unlock the phone...s21 fe is wayy more reliable from what im seeing.

My Huawei Mate 20 Pro is broken and had noted the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE and also the S20 FE because the difference between the two is not that big. Actually, the first thing I had in mind (because of the shop) was the A52, because it's not bad in itself and I don't have to pay anything extra for the model, then I somehow thought I'd rather pay something extra for a better device and googled a bit. Added to my notes were the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7. It shouldn't be more expensive than the Pixel 7 and I don't think I can find anything better in the price range, but I can't decide between these products. They are all fast and the display and the battery are very important to me, so that I can manage a day without any problems. Maybe someone has an opinion, suggestion or other smartphone options?

i bought the s21 instead, i don't care about the micro sd because the storage is already massive and it has wireless charging in case if the usb plug of the phone becomes unusable after many years just like it happened to my razer phone 2.,
I'm torn between the 2 because 2 coworkers differ on which one they think i should get. i have an lg aristo 5 at the moment. The samsung i wanted 2 or 3 yrs ago wasn't in the metro i was in and they talked me into the lg. But, one coworker says the phones that start with an S are better then the ones that start with an A. I forget the reason he gave. The other coworker said i should get the other because as an existing customer, near $50 to upgrade is better than near $200. Other reasons, too, but that was the main one. Reviews i've read for both are not very helpful, but after this video i am kinda leaning to the a53. One thing i really don't like is how much taller phones seem to be getting. Soon they'll be the size of an iPad. Who has a pocket big enough to fit those? 😁
The S are flagships but A aren't. so the S might last you longer, the a53 is good if you don't play games and just want it for work or just browsing .my brother has an a53 and I have an s21 fe and there isn't a high difference, the a53 is a bit bigger but it's the same size as a galaxy note 8 from years ago so I don't think they have had a very big difference in size

Samsung A53 5g looks so much more modern and actually more expensive than 21 fe. I'll buy the A53 because there's so little difference between them that it's not worth paying the extra $ 350. Plus for me, design is an important element. And the S21 fairy does not appeal to me at all for that price tag. Then you can buy Oneplus 9 pro instead and you get the hang of it!

In my opinion the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is way better. I'm a normal human being, for photos i use a real 5K$ Camara, for Gaming i use a GramingPC. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has more features for less money (SD Card Slot etc.)

I recently got the s21 fe 5g, previously had a note 20 and its a major drop the 120hz refresh rate is unusable, there is almost a constant lag on the phone when opening apps, switching between apps and even just dragging the task bar down. South Africa
The refresh rate has nothing to do with how snappy the phone is, it just makes it smoother when scrolling and things with motion
