I liked the 1st lighting exposure as it was softer & disguised the corner line that vertically cuts behind your head. Remove pole light as it's: too glaring, bright & distracting. Move pix to opposite wall to provide a better wall balance. Light up the plant instead of the coffee cup. A work in progress, thanks for listening to our input.
In my opinion, the light in front of you gave you a much nicer, softer all over look without the shadows. I think we’re all looking forward to “the chair!” ☺️
I like the first lighting, the one that was straight-on. The background seems a bit busy, like you're filming in a room where things are stored, but I understand that the background is a work in progress.
Yes, I live the corner much better. Nice desk. Reminds me of my mom’s desk she had as a little girl. I have it now and it’s one of my treasures. Did you say whiskey? After a day of decorating my tree (finally) and putting out my Christmas decor (I’m a procrastinator 😂😂), I had some eggnog with a healthy splash of bourbon while watching an old Christmas movie. It was a nice end to my day 😊
Good day, Tim and channel followers! Well, of course I've got an observation to share on the background here. Eyes naturally gravitate toward the left, then right, it seems more natural that the beautiful picture would be behind where the white coffee mug is situated. The light to viewer right is really cool but not sure it's not "too much". Perhaps moving the picture to the left would make room for the panels to move more toward the corner. Not sure we need to see the light on the desk. Just some thoughts. Hope it's a wonderful day!
Angled light was better. Like seeing the panels to the side. Do you have another of your photos to hang over the desk? That would be nice. You're definitely adding depth and eliminating the "flat" look. It's coming along nicely. You're having fun. That's what retirement is all about.
Yes, I at first thought the light straight at you, but then was thinking that if you put in a bit of gentle side light on the dark side to make the shadows not so hard, it would be better. Straight on light looks 'more honest' I suppose, but, why not try a warm floor fill in light light set to the dark side. I agree on the Canon (mine is a Sony 7S111 with a ripper lense) being able to create the depth of field. But horses for courses. This looks nice too. YES the corner shot is better. From an artists perspective, I can tell you that is about 'more intererting perspective lines' of sight (angles caused like this, on all the 'things' on the walls ect.)
The picture is beautiful. I'd prefer it not covered up. I meant to say on the last video that I like the first set up. The two words that were visible along with the picture, was cool. That's my two cents worth. 😊
Preferred the light straight on, prefer the corner setting but....like someone else said, seems a bit busy, maybe it's the desk? The panels with the other photo don't seem to work.
The background in this setup seems a little too cluttered. The color seems a bit off and not as warm as it could be. That could be the phone compensating for your practical light on our right.
You mention that you want the background to fall off but then you have a light on the stuff back there. I preferred the straight in lighting but think it’s too white. Not sure if you can change that; something a bit softer coloured would take some of the starkness out of it. When you mentioned the chair i thought a nice wing back chair would work well, defining the speaker amongst the “set”. Like the greenery ; picture was less distracting behind you. Hope some of this is helpful
Hi, Tim! I know you're being bombarded with opinions about the lighting. I'm amazed at how different the video appears with the movement of the light. I have to say, I liked it better with the light in front of you. Also, I know you didn't ask about sound, but...the sound is not exactly great. I'm guessing it's the dynamics of the setup...maybe? It just sounds really different. Thanks for sharing your process. I know other video makers are finding value with your guidance. Have a lovely day, Tim!
Hey Tim and Everybody. "👋" Agree w/ Lorrie. My Opinion ìs also to REMOVE the Desk and meaning Everything. A-l-l that " S-t-u-f-f " is Un-Necessary and is Having Our "Focus" BE ON IT. I would Put the Lil' Lamp from the Desk On the Floor & Have it Between the Picture (That would Be where the Desk was) & the Plant On the Floor with the Lamp Facing Upward. OR Put the Tall Lamp in Between the Picture on the Wall & the Plant where it is now. Maybe "try" Both Way's. Right now, Only Thing I' m Liking is the Plant.
From a woman’s perspective I think if you add another picture over the desk it might start to look cluttered… you have the two panels, that hanging light, the picture and a lot of “things” on the desk! Maybe put the picture that’s there over the desk? By the way a quick look at that piece of art work it looks like a cross of some kind. Just my 2 cents!
Starting to look good. I like first lighting best. What if the floor lamp ( next to plant) went next to the desk and eliminate desk lamp.I'm still sticking with the floor lamp, however maybe a different wattage or bulb. I do love the desk. Totally agree with the corner as more cozy. When you rolled back and could see the picture and lamp, I really liked that. Joan
Appreciate all your attempts…looks good to me. ❤

😊 the chair😊
Thank you! I think the straight on light did better as well.
Good morning Tim ,,work in progress best of luck,
I like the first lighting, the one that was straight-on. The background seems a bit busy, like you're filming in a room where things are stored, but I understand that the background is a work in progress.
Shadows are very difficult 😊 but I love the mood they create That said it will not be the one and all 😊
Good analogy. Thanks!
I like the light directly in front of you. Also I like the corner setting much better. Work in progress. Looking forward to the chair.
You are in a mission 😊 and you look so happy
Truly 😊
The Light Straight on looked best to me. The Light on Coffee Cup behind you is bright.
I like the 2nd lighting, warmer view.
I like the first lighting in front of your face. Hope this helps.

Enjoy ❤
What a beautiful way to end your decoration 😊
eggnog and bourbon sounds very relaxing
I agree with everyone, the light facing you looked better. 😊

Good morning! Love your ideas😊
Glad you're getting a new comfy chair 😊
Your voice sounded a little echoey.
Good morning 😊
@@AngelaDavis-yz3xfechoing for me as well 😊
Good morning to you, too, Lorrie.
Had fun watching you chat with the guys on Rons channel where you guys talked about photography. Hope you guys do this every Christmas.
It was a fun night. We will definitely do it again!

I’m looking for an image to print today. :)

I’m looking at a soft fill light.

And what a year it has been. I think you are over analyzing this but I am not a photographer. A new chair is always fun to look forward to. Carole
I think a light on the side and one in front will help

The straight-on light looked best to me. Was it at eye level or above?
A little above.

Good ear on the sound. I forgot to turn my mic on. 🤦♂️
I thought the sound was due to the carpet being pulled back. Good to know real reason.

I like the light on the side better than in front of you. Maybe the picture would look good behind you, or another picture in the background
🙂↔️ not the picture 🙂↔️
I think the shadow on your face in the second exposure is too dark. Also the background is a little too busy.
😊the background is a little too busy for me also 😊

Good morning Tim, it's nice to see you. The only thing I would say is the sound wasn't right. I could hear an echo. Thank you 😊
Yeah. I forgot to turn the mic on. 🤦♂️
🙃 I just looked at all the responses so far. What do you do with all that feedback. hahahaha
It’s all very interesting! I work with what I agree with.
