    Very few people are talking about the 003 and where to find current resources. Most, if not all, of the free CySa+ courses were never updated from 002 and a lot of non-WGU students are studying with old material.

      That's true. When I was studying for it, I had the same issue. That's one of the reasons I created this video. I hope it can help you with the test. I have more content coming soon. Thank you for watching, and please let me know if there are any additional questions. ✌🏽😎

    This one was actually fun IMO. I had to actually understand commandline tools like nmap so it felt less theoretical than other CompTIA exams

    Hello Fellow Night Owl! i'm taking CySA+ for WGU soon! Thank you for the video. it's really helpful. Do you know how much in-depth do we need to know for all the tools mentioning in the guide? Currently I only felt comfortable with wireshark and a little bit of nmap. Would great appreciate your thought on this!.

      Hello Friend! 👋🏽
      Thank you for watching the video. It means a lot.
      So my recommendation is to know how to read wireshark. You might get a lab or two in which you might have to read some logs and see who was compromised in your enterprise. For Nmap, you just need the basics. Scanning IPs, nothing in depth. The guide I made is literally the Notes I took and study during my prep. I Just made them in a PDF and arranged to make more sense for others. I do have experience in IT but more managerial than actually technical. I think once you get to CySA+ in the WGU curriculum you know enough that with the notes that i made and the video recommendations should be enough to pass.
      Pro Tip: take the areas your are struggling with, and ask Chat GPT to make you questions for that area simulating the exam. I did that for the CVSS score card scenarios. (You will have those in the test) ✌🏽😎
      Thanks again.

    Since these Tests fees are expensive is it better to study for them beforehand and start WGU or pay the test fees now and get the certs then start WGU, i want to get my A+ network+ and security+ maybe CCNA then start WGU what's your opinion on this? also any other cert would you recommend to get before starting WGU cybersecurity bachelor beside these?

    • @TheITCornerbyJR
      @TheITCornerbyJR  2 місяці тому

      Hello There. First of all, thank you for taking the time to check out the video.
      My recommendation is to get the Cert first to get yourself to the door in one of the WGU programs. I started with only A+. I studied and passed on my own. Then, I enrolled in WGU and got the other ones through them. Its cheaper in the long run, given that they give you all the tools you need to pass plus 2 attempts per exam.
      Now they have different programs to include IT and Networking. Each program has different certs included. I made another video on the channel on that, if you would like to check it out.
      I hope this helps. Thank you once more and let me know if you have any other questions. ✌🏽😎

      @@TheITCornerbyJR Did you finish your cybersecurity and in how many terms if you don't mind also isn't it cheaper to pay for test fees and get how many certs as you can before starting WGU compare to WGU one term cost which is 6k+ for a term

      @adamotak5145 no worries at all.
      So my situation is a bit different. I took the slow approach since i already have a job and i have a family. (Busy busy) In addition. My employer pays for certain % of my tuition. With that said, im 3 classes away to graduate and ive taken 3.5 yrs.
      Now your situation might be different and with WGU you can accelerate through the programs. In my other video i talked about the WGU approach which is Compentecy based. If you know the material you can move on.
      Now, which one is cheaper. Well an argument can be made of both sides.
      WGU includes Certs plus that degree and if you can accelerate it will be cheaper in the long run that taking 1 Cert at a time. In addition they give you the tools and most classes build upon the last one helping you with the learning curve.
      Even though getting each cert individually might seem cheaper at first. At the end it pays off to go all in because of those reasons.
      Hope this helps. ✌🏽😎

      @@TheITCornerbyJR Thank you! yes slow approach always wins me too same situation work and a huge family to take care but since i always have been missing with pcs/building pcs and networking i can easily pass basic certs with a little studying /practice tests since finding out about wgu i am so happy that i can finally get a bachelor otherwise it was impossible for me because of work/family reasons to attend a college. do you have any plan to do master in future and would u do your master in cybersecurity or other fields

    • @TheITCornerbyJR
      @TheITCornerbyJR  2 місяці тому +1

      Absolutely, i will be going for my Masters Next. I will stay in Cybersecurity. I already have 15 yrs experience in the Health Care Industry with over 6 in Health IT specifically, so I dont think I need a management degree. 😅.
      One more thing. Thank you for checking out the channel. Feel free to check some other videos out and im open for any feedback you have. More content coming soon.
