Awesome information! Had to replace both Schrader valves on my 17 yr. old kia Sportage this summer! I took it to a local mechanic and he had the proper airco vac, sucked out the refrigerant, tested it and it held the vacuum! Put new valves in and refilled it! Kept me really cool this summer! Since it didn't really need much refrigerant, he just charged me $50.00! I've used the cans and gauges from auto stores before, but if the gauges don't give you the right readings, too high or too low, your compressor just doesn't give you the best cold temperatures!

If it’s not reset, more often than not it will leak refrigerant.
