At this point, Acura as a brand is almost completely irrelevant. It is suppose to be Honda's 'near premium' brand, however Honda's are way more striking, competitive, offer premium amenities and they actually look kinda nice to top things off. This is better than the Acura TLX. The interior alone makes the TLX appear cheap, although the 2018 Camry's interior has a nicer design. Just saying. I like this car alot but I prefer the Camry. Looking forward to a comparison though.

Acura has been irrelevant for many years now. No point in spending the extra money for an Acura, when you can get a fully-loaded Honda with all the features of an Acura for less or about the same amount of money for a base Acura

Tremaine Challenger You will think so until you drive one TLX. TLX is quieter, has superior suspension and steers better.

I would take a normally aspirated 2.5 L Toyota or Mazda engine and automatic transmission anytime over a lousy 1.5 L turbo with a CVT. That turbo wont last long and the expense will be a shock to fix. Meanwhile putting around on a broken turbo with a 1.5 L engine will drive the owners rabid.

Leif Vulfila how so? Sounds like a lot of hate. Tires wear out every 3-4 years and cost close to $1,000 to Replace but people still buy cars. Your point is worthless.

Was it top of their game to shrink the driver side leg room? I've driven a Honda Accord since 2002, when my latest Honda goes I'll be done with Accord unless they fix the leg room back to the 2017 Accord level.

Whats with people thinking turbos are so unreliable? I have a 1999 saab with 205k miles on the original turbo. They last as long as you take care of your car...

You people need complaining and haven’t even seen the car in person or test drove it need to stop. I didn’t like from the pics but when i saw it and drove it, it was amazing. And to the engines all y’all on here complaining about the v6 being replaced and the coupe being discontinued really? Sales numbers showed that no one was buying the coupes or v6 also the new 2.0 is way quicker that that v6

2018 Honda Accord is pretty good, but a MAJOR problem: it sits way too low.
Pros: Most of the Accord are done well. Back to a more traditional dash board - with Knobs.
Cons: Sits WAY too low, result is poor visibility, lack of headroom, unsafe feeling when others cars tower over you. So low it is hard (requires bending, stooping) to get in and out of the Accord. Low profile tires - which result in poor ride and this helps lower the car further. Final Con, I wish Honda would get rid of the bad push button shifter and just go back to a wonderful standard console shifter.

  • @TheLifetraveler1

It looks good compared to the new Camry. But switching to turbo charged engines, from stalwarts 4 and 6 cylinder engines with an established reputation, is hurting Accord sales. For every new Accord I see on the road, I see at least 4 new Camry's.
100,000 Camrys sold just this year. A little over 60,000 new Accords. That is bad news. A dealer had new Accords for $19,900 in Chattanooga two months ago. When is the last time you have seen a brand new Accord at less than $20,000? In researching and new car possibility, I found Accord only gives you blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert when you move up to the E X model. To that is about a $4,000 increase over the base LX Accord which has most of the things I need. With the Camry you only pay about $900 to get those two extra safety features. I like both cars I prefer the Accord because of its more attractive body. But right now if I had a choice I'd have to buy the Camry.

The 2018 Camry doesn't stand a chance in the inevitable comparison tests. This looks better, has a nicer and more functional interior, and the 2.0T is probably going to outrun the 3.5 V-6 in the Camry thanks to the torque and 10-speed auto. Not to mention the Camry is missing a ton of tech features the competitors offers (memory seats, ventilated seats, Android Auto/Apple Carplay to name a few). About the only highlight of the Camry is fuel economy in the 2.5L 4-banger, which is riveting stuff...
