I am so pissed off that this thing doesn’t even have a wikipedia page. This is one of the greatest music albums i ever heard, and i just can’t get over the fact that this thing is kinda forgotten. Great music!
Just here for expressing my gratitude for this upload. Cannot remember how often I listen to this whole record. "All you need to do... Is die" The best in this, is that still nearly nobody knows about this. High quality 60s underground right here, before it dies with the honks finally. "It can't be tonight"
Kak is in short a spectacular band and the song Everything's Changing, deserved to have occupied the first place of the ranking and to have been an absolute classic of the rock. His music is in force due to its fresh and imposing sound. Acid and psychedelic rock of quality and power. This album is a lost jewel that deserves to be rescued from ostracism and oblivion
West coast acid guitar masterpiece. Bonus track aren't exceptional but the original Epic Yellow labelled album is really a masterpiece. A must for QMS lovers.
I thought I was well-versed in late '60's rock, but never ever heard of this band ever mentioned before. A crying shame, they're easily the equal of the famous bands of the day, right up there with Moby Grape in my book! Thanks for posting this.
Kak is a band I heard and got into during the stupidest period of my existence, but I knew great music when I heard it! I was both good and bad then and I was only 16 years old. I guess we learn from mistakes. I was a very mean and angry kid after years of abuse in school and I guess I just was letting that spill off on other people. I was supposedly a hippie, but after Kak I started getting too cocky. Kak is still one of my favorite albums and one of my #1s, and I was also a very loving and supportive person to the other "hip" kids. Man, this is some fantastic music! You can't have psychedelic or even a rock genre without including Kak as a "why were they not huge? This is great" I heard they're all drug casualties and hope that isn't true. If so it's really sad. That was what brought down the counterculture- drugs and too much emphasis on alienating anyone who wasn't like them. Brought my downfall too.
One of the best reissues and one of my all-time faves. Kak's sole release is one of the standout recordings of the halcyon '60s. These guys should have been stars.
Totally hear the the Thorogood resemblance. Funny thing is I read your comment right before I started to play this, I closed the window so I didn't know what song was what (first time listening) but as soon as it started to play "Clear Day" I knew this was the song you were talking about, anyway Peace and good listening to ya:)
I hope you will like them as I do ! They are great and very innovative ! For Peter Hammill, I think I recommand you in first his album "The Silent Corner And The Empty Stage" or maybe "Chameleon In The Shadow Of The Night". For Van Der Graaf Generator, I think their most psychedelic album is "The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other", but their most famous is "Pawn Hearts". Have a nice day :) Greetings from France
+Progranma Van Den Graaf Generator does just not swing like these guys, monsieur. Sans parler du facteur émotionnel (quoique cela soit l'affaire de chacun)...
Great band. I was fortunate enough to have seen them live in that legendary concert, that went straight up into the annals of US psychedelic rock, in downtown Flushing, Queens, double bill with The Electric Toilet and Black Merda as the opening act. The stuff that dreams are made of.
+6MickTravis9 Βlack merda... I've given them a chance, but they are not so 'good' to my ears [ ie there were many other exceptional bands aruond at the time downtown Flushing : Eh i've never heard of the place, would U be inclined to pass a poster of the show, or any pictures from the show that U attended at the time, sir, that would be really nice!
6micktravis9, at least you've heard about electric toilet, their album is even rarer than kak, incidentally, kak played only a few times live and only in san francisco before disbanding, but nice one though regarding the sh*t connection.
KAK originated in Davis, California during the mid/late 60's. They went by the name Oxford Circle which was the name of an off campus living area that was a popular place for UC Davis students to party. They often entertained us with their fantastic music. They were our version of Quicksilver Messenger Service.
I've added a download link in the description if you want to download the album. It's the same version as this video with all the bonus tracks included.
What a GREAT album! Thanks for share this unknown pearl! Just me or i really heard almost ten years after the first riff of "Trieulogy" in "Footprints in the Snow" by Uriah Heep? =)
I would like to have a download link restored, this music is too lovely to not give away. It should search its way to everyone's speakers. There will also be appreciated with someone putting down the chords and tabs to the songs. Alas! Small people with big house, doors to be opened, minds to act and hands to share.
Gary Lee Yoder formed several bands, Kak being one of them and Blue Cheer as well. Kak was a part of the San Fran psychedelic sceen and played on stage with such artists as Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, and Jefferson Airplane but never obtained the same level of fame nor did they ever get a record deal.
People wince when I tell them the name of this group. They're way into the music tho'. The same two people who were in Oxford Circle before Kak later went to Blue Cheer?
First heard the album in the late nineties, deserved a much greater recognition, the frontman is a great singer and composer, it's a shame they were underrated.
El sorprendente album de KAK es el mejor album de la costa oeste editado en un sello mayor. Poseo en mi colección privada un ejemplar de Epic amarillo, primera edición en condiciones pristinas.
love it when these cray single record releaser bands have a longer than average album. this is some raw shit right here.. kisses and tears to all of the manic insomniacs out there. peace
Thanks for pointing that out. I found a new link, but it's on a russian website. Scroll down to the bottom of the article and click the "Narod.ru" link to download. You might have to translate the page to understand it, so watch you don't click on any weird links or ads.
If I open a good coffee shop. I would definitely put this album on and on ..... my especial tHANKS to "randomovieguy " for posting this amazing album here on youtube ! !!
What happened? I got mine in a used record store. As I was carrying it around after buying it and other records and waiting for people I was with, one record fell on the floor! I still have it, with light scratches on side C!
I am so pissed off that this thing doesn’t even have a wikipedia page. This is one of the greatest music albums i ever heard, and i just can’t get over the fact that this thing is kinda forgotten. Great music!
I'VE GOT A LONG LIST OF STUFF LIKE THIS.
CHECK OUT IOTA FROM THE SEVENTIES.

I love everything’s changing too!
Very good- reminds me of Moby Grape or Buffalo Springfield. I had never heard this before. Thanks for posting.

i agree and personally think they are better than Moby Grape and most of the better known bands of this genre.

+Benjamin Blake Mitchner I really enjoyed reading your comment. :)
Reagan started the war on drugs...
Logic Seeker, It was on long before Reagan. He merely escalated it.
great well balanced album , acoustic and electric ,
One of the best reissues and one of my all-time faves. Kak's sole release is one of the standout recordings of the halcyon '60s. These guys should have been stars.
Amazing, merci !!!!

I keep discovering music like this in youtube that is fucking awesome.
If you haven't already discover Van Der Graaf Generator/ Peter Hammill, I recommand them to you
I'm giving that a turn man.
I hope you will like them as I do ! They are great and very innovative ! Very Interesting! Merda is Italian for sh*t. What a billing: KAK (sh*t), Black Merda (sh*t), The Electric Toilet played in Flushing, Queens. No way!!
Seems like dreams are made of sh*t, man...
+Raymond Arata 😄 sounds unreal, isn't it?
6micktravis9,

I love this record! It sounds kind of like a cross between Bob Dylan and Donovan with a metal Edge. This record rocked my world......
Well said. I love rock music from the late 1960's.
An essential purchase.
What a discovery, just brilliant!!! Will be purchasing cd, thanks for posting👍👌

I remember this band from 1968. I really liked 'disbelievin'. I
can't believe how clearly I remember the guitar part.
I'm a first time Kak listener and I hear alot of Jefferson Airplane influence in this. Great Sound.
First heard of this band on a compilation album called Psychedelic Dream. The track was Lemonade Kid. Brilliant stuff with a melancholic undertone
Second listening here, 7-IV-24, after several years. "It's getting better, all the time..." (with every listening that is). Flowing By is gorgeous.
Bellissimo!! Grazie mille.
I can't find this album anywhere, only here. I love the intro.
A lot of hits for a Kak album.
+clyrogrumper My girl loves the Kak.
Really enjoyed flicking through this playlist. I've got hours of fun making spotify playlists ahead. Thanks.

First heard the album in the late nineties, deserved a much greater recognition, the frontman is a great singer and composer, it's a shame they were underrated.
