Thank you! I've been having trouble finding my own style recently and I started drawing some type of cartoon anime style that I really like and this tutorial really helped me!
I've been watching a lot of your stuff and see improvements in my illustrations already! Thanks for doing these. I ESPECIALLY love the 101 series that you did.
Well I'm a few.days into your tutorials and I can honestly say you have probably saved my sanity during this lockdown. I'm actually feeling proud of myself on the stuff ive done already. Youre a genius! A question I do have for you is...do you have any books? I love the vids but I'd love to collect your books (if they exist) thanks again for keeping me from turning into Jack from The Shining. Oh and I need a half Michael Jackson glove like yours. Heeee Heeee Shamon.
Things I wish I told my younger self when I first started drawing: #1: YOU DONT HAVE TO DRAW VERY DETAILED ANIMIE TO BE A COOL OR GOOD ARTIST YOU CAN EXPERIMENT WITH YOUR OWN ARTSTYLE AND HAVE YOUR OWN ARTSTYLE- now I like drawing more cartoony :)
The approach in this and your other videos (thinking especially of the face drawing videos) is exactly what I've been looking for in book form for quite some time! As you said in one of the videos, it's important to give the fundamentals rather than just how to draw a particular character etc. But most fundamentals books are for realistic drawing, not cartoon drawing. Drawing is about communicating visually, and cartoons really seem best for communicating (for me anyway), both in terms of efficiency and ability to exaggerate and emphasize. Do you have a book where you lay everything out like this? It would be really great!
lol, I almost didn't recognize you without the beard XD I have been watching the Cartooning 101 series: Very clear and easy to follow instructions, great pace, excellent job! This is a great tutorial, very helpful. Thank you so much for posting!
Oh my gosh! This is WAY too underrated! My friend and I want to start an animated series and both laughed about how we can't draw hands. Guess we need to delete those messages :D also MAN this went by fast because it was so fun
You mentioned not to trace over the image - why is that? I love the loose way you get the shapes from the images but, is tracing not a legitimate way to learn? (Like tracing circles or lines to get the “muscle memory” of the technique if we can’t naturally reproduce those shapes and lines). This method is what I’ve been wanting to use on photos of people to get my hand used to making the correct movements and shapes, but I’m wondering if tracing is a good method for getting the details. What would you suggest? Btw, just found you today and I’m thrilled!!! Your procreate explanations are a God-send!! 💕
The Real KiKi Tracing to get the main shapes in a loose way is totally ok to learn. I say “don’t trace” because I see far too many artists tracing lines exactly and calling it their own work. Just trying to encourage originality!
What a shame thay good artist on youtube like you Arent as big as fx five minits craft.😑 Sorry for my bad english i am from denmark😁 PS i love your videos 👍👍
This is a great tutorial. Will be sharing with my Animators. Is it possible for you to provide the link for those hand poses you used? Thanks in advance.
this is really great, but do you have any tips for drawing hands kinda like Mickey Mouses hands? When I draw gloved cartoon hands they look really badly proportioned.
Yeah, i owned 4 of his book. Right now im struggling in making shapes into 3d form, like drawing boxes and shape in different angle and also perspective.
Add a logo in your video. These days the other youtubers (with similar channel) download the video and they rip off the audio making their own. UA-cam doesnt has any algorithm to trace such activity. You gotta manually find such culprits and hold them for copyright infringement. Saying from personal experience.👍
Thanks for the advice! Not sure how much good that does in the long run. Assuming you put it in the corner? All you have to do is a frame zoom during editing to crop it out. Even if they left it, wouldn't you still have to find infringers manually?
Let's Draw with BeeJayDeL Yeah...maybe a faded watermark? I was surprised to find my work plagiarized on more than 2 different channels. I know its a leg work to find such infringers manually but thats the only solution I could think of.
that was great but you know only one heartbreaking thing? you rotate canvas alot... like hell alot ... many are sketching traditionally and this is not normal for us..
This was actually a really helpful tutorial. Just earned a subscriber!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it!!

At 4:16 I looked at the hand and liked the mitten like look so I think that might be my new style of hands instead of just no fingers at all.
Awesome! Glad it helped!

Thank you i will like
Well now I know my issue, I need to get procreate or a rather simple drawing program so I don't get chased away by something hard. XD
Hey there Let's Draw with BeeJayDeL! Any recomendation's for drawing app's on WIndow's?
Clip Studio Paint Pro! It’s awesome!
Cool! Thank's so much!
this is really great, but do you have any tips for drawing hands kinda like Mickey Mouses hands? When I draw gloved cartoon hands they look really badly proportioned.
i really like your tutorial, can you recommend a good book on teaching about cartoon drawing?
Christopher Hart has some really good cartooning books...check those out!
Yeah, i owned 4 of his book. Right now im struggling in making shapes into 3d form, like drawing boxes and shape in different angle and also perspective.
@BJ in my opinion (from what I've seen - Humongous Book of Cartooning) Christopher Hart is not nearly as good as your tutorials here, imho.
Thank you so much
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
Nice tutorial
Thanks

Thanks a lot it helped
