Must've played the campaign a dozen times on the Wii when I was younger. Definitely picking this up. Now we just need the original Battlefront games on modern consoles.
I know that the original battlefront 1 and 2 are available on xbox

I've still been playing it all this time on different ports lol, the PSP one is fun especially with the historic missions. Wii was good too using the wiimote as the saber & nunchuck for force powers.
You can emulate them all on your PC too ;)
I'm glad to see the older Star Wars games getting more attention. I hope we get Knights of the Old Republic 2 soon.

Old republic2 and forced unleashed 2 they should but something special for the switch version not just that battle mode it was kinda lame.

@@TMac-os1hy The Wii version is objectively better than the 360 in all categories other than controls and visuals. The Wii version also has Force Choke AND playable Darth Vader in any level, also the Wii version has several extra levels the 360 doesn't, even with the DLC.

I can't express just how obsessed I was with this game when I was young. I'm so happy to see this.
Starkiller is without place one of the best characters in all of Star Wars, it is great that Swich users play one of the best games in the entire saga as it is The Force Unleashed.

I had both the Wii & PS3 version of TFU. I always preferred the Wii version as the controls made the game more fun and the duel mode was a great addition. Glad to see it coming to the Switch 😃

One of the best Star Wars games no doubt and one of my favourite games of all time. Sam Witwer needs a live action role, doesn't matter if Star Killer or not. I mean LOOT AT HIM. It needs to happen 😂
personally he makes a better voice actor, look at mark hamil, he was awesome as luke but did way more voice acting and if you seen him as joker in the arkham series you can see how dedicated he is in the recording booth

I agree, it sounds like a really dumb idea. It would be better if he gets a PS3 o Wii (more accuracy to Switch) to play it, also, he is gonna be able to play the second part of the game
If you’re gonna buy a Switch, at least get something like Xenoblade Chronicles or Super Smash Bros. to go along with The Force Unleashed! Also, Republic Commando was also recently ported to Switch, so you could get that, too.
@@sirenstrike4163 Skyward Sword announcement had me go out and buy a switch the next day -- there's tons of good stuff but sometimes its just the one thing you hear that makes you give in and finally buy one.
I would have considered it myself if I didn't already get one. Zelda, Super Mario Galaxy and The force unleashed were my all time faves and when my wiimote broke it made more sense to be hyped there was an upgraded version I could get on a current system

It's so fun! It's a simple game compared to what Star Wars does now but it's such a great story. And wielding an incredibly powerful Sith apprentices power feels amazing.
It was an amazing game on the wii, swinging the remote made you feel like an actual jedi/sith. The multilayer duel mode was also so fun.
The replay value is *valuable*
I'm glad it's the PS2/PSP version. It had a lot cooler stuff and much more to do. I'm not too worried about graphics much anymore these days. It helps me enjoy more games! 😊

@@jamespoole4322 It's the same thing even being the Wii version (minus the updated battle mode), so everyone's right.
@@Pillmonger the only things better in the PS360 version was the graphics and the cutscene where you pull that big ship out of the sky being playable. It had less levels than the Wii version nor the battle mode of the psp version.
If they can add in the PSP content as well, then I would be so happy…

The fact is not only is the Force Unleashed on the switch, but it straight up the Wii and Ps2 version. That alone made me happy.
I remember my old PlayStation 2 not having a memory card, so I would speed run this sometimes. I'm pretty sure my quickest completion time with next to 80% of all collectibles was roughly 8 hours. Then again I was a six year old.
Knights of the Old Republic, Lego Skywalker Saga, and now Force Unleashed? All we need is Star Wars Kinect, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, and the Angry Birds Star Wars games and the Switch will be the ultimate Star Wars gaming machine.
I think rovio (angry birds creator) said they aren't going to be porting any of the star wars games to any further consoles due to licensing issues sadly. I guess they only had that deal signed for a couple years
It doesn't have Rogue Squadren or Leader.
I hope the Force Unleashed has all of the content from all of the versions and not just the Wii version.
Star Wars Bounty Hunter, Star Wars Dark Forces, and OG Star Wars Battlefront 2 would make the collection complete.
@@n1nj4l1nk It's just the Wii version, which has FAR more content than any other version out there. Multiplayer, Darth Vader as a costume, Force choke for Starkiller, like 8 extra story missions. The Wii version is the content complete version.
Cool. Love that it is the Wii version; too many good ports of games get overlooked for the standard console versions when it comes to rereleases. I hope it includes the bonus modes from the PSP version, which was otherwise identical to the Wii Version.
I wish it was the PS3/360 version purely for the euphoria ragdoll system.

One of my favourite games, it doesn't seem to have aged as well as the outcast games but hopefully it looks better on the small OLED screen 👍

I find it a shame that this is the version they chose to port, considering the HD version on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC have the definitive version of the story.
was REALLY hopeful this would be the full 360/ps3 Ultimate Sith version with all the DLC levels included.

Dude that version is so short It would be finished in a hour or two this one is much much longer even without the dlc
I'm honestly shocked they didn't re-release the XBOX/PS3/PC version and add the Wii exclusive levels and multiplayer elements. That would have been awesome. The Switch is more than capable of handling 7th Gen graphics.
We should make a petition to make Starkiller canon again and make a movie or show on him.

Even after playing the PS3 version, years after the PS2 one, I still prefered the PS2/Wii version of Force Unleashed. Cant wait to play this again.

I loved playing this when it first came out. My mates got the xbox version, I got the Wii. And we had fun playing the multiplayer mode, but I feel like the other version should have been the one to import over.
When I first saw the trailers I was hoping for the PS3/360 versions with wii controls. But when I took a closer look, I realized its an upscaled wii version of the game.
For $20 its probably still a good deal...but I'll wait for reviews.

@@icanhazgoodgame3845 Wii port is arguably the best depending on who you ask.
The Wii/PS2/PSP port is one of the few older gen ports that had a shitload of effort put in, it was made by Krome Studio instead of LA who more or less made a gameplay focused reimagining of the game. There's more detailed levels, and much better bossfights, force powers in particular feel a bit more refined and faster, in excecution. Hated force grabbing in the original. Story and VA is weaker but you still get the overall narrative. The level design is what really elevated this version, they toned down those instadeath platforming sections and overused QTE's, plus put a lot more interactibles to destroy and force push around, and there's the collectibles too.
You also get a couple brand new fights and levels, and the VS mode.
It's not pretty to look at and you miss the DLC, but fun is fun, it's worth a shot.

This is awesome that we're getting a port of the Wii version. I loved that one as a kid. Always felt it had more content and was different enough from the 360 version to be its own thing.

Nintendo know their Star Wars, this version is the best one, the PS3 and 360 versions may have better graphics, but this version has the better story, gameplay and pacing.
Why didn’t Nintendo just mixed the best parts? It is great to have good graphics combined with the extra content the PS2/Wii version had

Nice to see more Star Wars games ported to the Switch but I'm still waiting for Rogue Squadron trilogy and the first two games in the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series.
This is one of the best examples of the Wii controllers used perfectly right, u actually fell like u can use the force.
Starkiller has been my favorite SW character since playing this game. Loved the combat system and the mechanics of the force. Just using the force to throw stormtroopers around was a lot of fun. The story was cool too. Loved Rahm Kota & Juno Eclipse too. Sam Witwer should have played Starkiller in a movie trilogy already. Loved the DLC for both games as well. Lord Starkiller was dooopeee!

The ps2/wii/psp are very similar but the wii has a duel mode and lacks the bounus levels of the psp
Hi as a huge Star Wars fan... well semi ex-Starwars fan now.
The PSP/PS2/Wii are the same. (with minor differences)
PS3/Xbox 360/PC are the same (again, with minor differences)
PSP is considered the best version overall.
Wii and PS2 are tied in second place.
Graphic-wise they are completely the same but one has multiplayer also motion controls, so choose what suits your play style best.
PS3 Xbox 360 and PC
They have the better graphics, the story is a bit longer and different also "what if' levels thanks to DLC and are known to have lots and lots of flashy quick-time-events so depending on your taste this is either a good or bad thing.
Also for some reason the Xbox version is considered the worst of the 3 and some say it's the worst version overall but that honor goes to....
The DS version.
I should say unless you are a big DS/Starwars collector you should avoid it at all cost.

Yeah I know, they should at least do a visual upgrade, keep the Wii's playstyle, the story, the multiplayer, all the force moves.
And add HD and bring the Boss Rush mode, Order 66 challege, Historic Missions and all the other details from the other versions EXCEPT for those quick time events since the game will have all the force moves after all.
Cuz dev's are too lazy to utilize the switch hardware
