I love those mid '70s Ford LTDs. My dad bought a brand new 1974 model just over a year before he passed away. My mother inherited it, but she didn't drive. I got my drivers license about 3 months later, and became the family driver. I wanted to trade it for a new Camaro, but my mother wouldn't do it. I learned to love that big huge car, and kept it for over 7 years.
@@bonkeydollocks1879 No. There were actually seriously underpowered for their size and weight, do to all the emissions restrictions. They also handled poorly, due to their size and weight, and their soft suspension. But they were so comfortable that you couldn't even tell they were moving, unless you made a sharp turn and got thrown around by the inertia. roominess and comfort were their main strong points, but I also love how those huge cars from back then look. They have a presence that no modern car has.
One thing you'll notice with the 73-74 ford galaxies in this show is the goofy cop car hubcaps, what happened in theory is they painted over the factory chrome disk full wheel covers partially to make it look as though the wheel was a dog dish with a black rim, but when the car braked hard the whole wheel cover came off of the right front rim.
@bigcrowfly Sure I remember her. She was that woman that looked 20 years older than her actual age and was in different crappy sit-coms where she was never the least bit funny. But that's just me I'm a comedy snob.
She died fairly recently and was pushing 90. She had a pretty good run. Probably cigarettes. A lot of those actors or actresses back then looked more 'mature' by around 10 years more than their age. I could never stand her in WTB with Danza and what's her name.
That 'getaway car' from the shooting looks like a cleaner version of Hutch's car from 'Starsky & Hutch'. Maybe same car but 'Uglied Up' for that show??
That Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 111 is blowing a lot of smoke, I think it needs a service. Still, they're very nice cruising cars to drive. Many thanks and take care.
I think they were tuned to run a bit on oil especially with heavy acceleration. This was actually normal even though it looks horrible by today's eyes.
@Wildstar40 Right nice call. It looks like the same '68 Charger also used in a different episode of this show. And the Cadillac to the left of the Porsche maybe the same as @ 1:00 mark.
@troynov1965 I remember her from the movie Catch-22. Here's some photos of her on set during this episode of The Rookies. www.gettyimages.com/photos/susanne-benton

Were they powerful? Greetings from the UK

@@geraldscott4302 ok i see, did you get the smog restrictions in about 72/73?

The criminal woman at 3:28 3:19 5:57 and 8:56 was Katherine Helmond from Who's the Boss?, and lots of other TV shows.
@bigcrowfly

Good catch Mona from Whos the boss

I didn't realize who she was until the end but I recognized her mouth earlier in the video.
Mrs Ida Lowry in Brazil (1985).

Her: DON'T TRY IT DROP THE MOUSE!
Me: well fuck.
Here's some photos of her on set during this episode of The Rookies and more. www.gettyimages.com/photos/susanne-benton
what's the name of the movie?
Anyone notice the door decals are the exact same that was used on T.J. Hooker Police cars?
That Rolls was burning so much oil you'd think it was a 2-stroke.
That bad guys need to stop that you know that cops doing good to chase down 1975 ford econoline
5:38 Porsche 914
Yes they were told to stop all cars with 3 Caucasians and they stopped a 2 seater Porsche. Geniuses.
@@mexicanspec AAAAhhh 😀😃didnt even realize! That hilarious🤣🤣🤣
Pause at 3:14 1968 Dodge Charger sitting under a tree talking to his German neighbor Porsche 914 🙂

It was the style and these criminals were not that violent back then, berry compliant as seen here. 😂
Who is she?

@@Troy_nov1965 thanks
Policewoman with a touch of kink... the hair, eyes and pouty lips never lie 🫦
Those are Ford wheel covers painted to look like hubcaps.
Got it 68 charger at 7:46 mark.
@milfordh.mercado2787
Nice catch. It looks like it has a longer and flatter trunk deck though. So to me I'm thinking maybe a '68-'69 Dodge Coronet.
@CarChaseWonderland2 thanks but for a second there i thought it was charger.
@milfordh.mercado2787 Same yellow Monte Carlo @ 3:10 Top view right of the blue Chevy lower screen.
