My face looks like it's been smashed with a clothes-iron and a lot of my friends wear too much eye-shadow and smoke clove cigarettes and our town is just lovely.
The fun thing about the Lasombra is they are the clan in my mind that shows how disciplines actively dehumanize you. Obtenebration aside, potence and dominate alone is just encouraging you to be a bully, not treat anyone as a peer or equal. After all why treat anyone or anything as a peer if it’s mind and body is so easily broken.
The Lasombra connection with the seas never made sense to me until somebody compared being enveloped in their shadow to being sunk into the deepest part of the ocean and then it clicked.
Helps that apparently Lasombra spent his time in Enoch and the second city just laying submerged in water. Tbh the explanation you shared makes more sense with that behavior. It's a smarter justification instead of just "Lasombra liked laying in water so now his kids like it too."
Lasombra induces such nostalgia in me. I think they were my favorite clan, along the Assamites, when I started with VtM just because of their look and feel. I was such an edgy teenager that it is hilarious to think about it now, although my Lasombra love persists. By the way, as a note on the video, the introduction skipped here the hilarious split of the Lasombra during the Modern Nights when basically half of them went back to the Camarilla as a next level power move.
I relate very hard as someone who also was an edgy teen. I love the Raven Guard for a reason... Also yeah lmao I did leave out the small Sabbat schism. I'm pretty sure it was literally because one dude killed all of the Sabbat in his domain and declared himself Camarilla? Just because he wanted to do fun politics vs managing Vampire terrorism. Based of him. But idk if I'm conflaiting a single act to the cause vs one of many Lasombra doing that kinda power move at the same time.
@@glueboy It's weird. Like it was a single dude who did that, the Cardinal of Milan, but when I checked the lore entries, there it is presented as essentially he took half of the Lasombra with him. It is by the way fun, and somewhat tragic, to realize that even with all that ambiguity in the Vampires setting, it is still somehow more coherent than WH40K.
@toniviskari417 Incredibly coherent until you start combining the other games together lol. I'm a WoD purist at heart, liking to consider everything as true and connected. But shit falls apart if you do that. It's why they recommend not doing that in the source books lmao.
I'm a firm believer that if you like Warhammer you will like Vampire the Masquerade! They have a incredibly similar appeal and vibe, just different settings.
I got videos on it and sometime soon I'll be sharing a good primer for the lore! If you like the lore too I recommend watching BurgerKrieg's videos on it and the other games in the same setting. They're real fun long videos to listen too.
Dude thanks for making these videos! I'm getting into my first game soon as a Tremere named Lannister Cane and these have been SUPER helpful understanding how he should be and think more
Incredibly happy to hear! I make this vids to teach some good lore, but also to help new players/GM's! If any of these vids have helped even a single person play the game with more confidence then it succeeded.
Ik im like 4 days late and i doubt you will see this but i think it would be awesome if you did clan Tzimisce because i would love to see your take on them and their weird friendship with clan Salubri
I have no set schedule for any of my vids, but good news for ya lol. The next time I return to VtM the 2 most likely clans I will cover are Tzmisce or Nosferatu. Leaning heavily towards Tzmisce. The shit I know about them already makes me wanna talk about them. I know for certain theres lore I don't know/remember thats dope too.
@ hell yeah! Tzimisce is my favorite clan and that are very interesting in both culture and mannerisms, also their relationship with the salubri is so odd. I can’t wait to see what you make of them
If the Nosferatu and Lasombra in your city are friendly with each other, find a new city.

Their compulsion having them need to be dominant over all things + a kit that lets them do that physically or mentally? Recipe for an evil clan lmao

@@glueboy I do not know how one could even suggest that Vampire and Werewolf mythologies are incompatible.
@toniviskari417 More so the Mage lore that causes most problems lmao.
I know nothing about vampire the masquerade but if EpoxyLad talks about it ill watch it.

Interesting, I'll have to look into it.
