I love ppl like you who do video's like this, I needed the smallest split system available and that turned out to be the 1.7kw Mitsubishi heavy industries which doesn't support the wifi unit they sell for their other models but now I can buy one of these for half the money. The kicker is I found a second hand ac un opened for $450 :) So now I can turn on my ac as soon as my batteries have been charged and use that free solar for cooling for the rest of the day....
Thanks for this video. I had been hoping there was a wifi option for my Mitsubishi and this is the answer. Two quick questions: 1) does the SENSIBO have to be plugged into a wall outlet? Or does it just occasionally have to be charged via USB cable? And 2) can you only use one SENSIBO device per unit? Or can you use one device for multiple units? Thanks.
Hi there, I just watched this video, great! I also have an MHI and I wondered if the Sensibo sends the measured temperature to the AC, bypassing the internal temperature sensor of the AC? I use my wall mounted AC for heating my living and kitchen and I get the idea that the internal temperature sensor of the AC not always reports the correct temperature (although it uses an offset of 2 degrees)
Curious device, nice detailed review. I have hackers who live next door so I guess they will enjoy playing with the thermostat. But my biggest fear is a Russian hacker just messing with my aircon to annoy me. Honestly with the amount of hacking that's been going on I'm getting rid of 'Smart' stuff so my security levels are good against hackers. I have a saying, if it's a 'Smart' device it's just a open door to hackers.
Hi! Thanks for your video! I do have a question, if I have 5 split air conditioners installed in 5 rooms, and I want to turn on and off 3 of them, any solution for issue pls? 🤧
Can you hook it up if you no longer have the remote? Is there a way around that? I mean I doubt im the ONLY person that wants to control with my phone mainly because I lost my original remote 🤷🏻♂️😆
Haha yeh hopefully the price comes down on this tech in the next couple of years. I remember smart bulbs used to be this expensive but now they’re like $10 at bunnings!
A high tech solution to a low tech problem. It's cool but I can just take the OEM remote and hit the button. I turn my AC off or program on/off when not home.
This is typically for people who have solar that is being exported at low cost through the day, so better to utilise it with something like heating or cooling their home.
