Nobody can become financially successful overnight. They put in background work but we tend to see the finished part. Fear is a dangerous component, hindering us from taking the bold steps we need in other to reach our goals.

I think it's not always about fear, Sometimes realistic factors discourage people from reaching their goals in life. For instance, I've tried investing in the stock market several times but always got discouraged by fluctuations of stock value

Nice video that reminds me of a year when I was so broke that I could barely pay my bills. I remember the most important step in my life when I invested my last income with an experienced Forex trader who was recommended to me by a friend. It may seem a bit, but it took courage to know that investing was the right thing to do at the time. Today my small investment of just $ 300 generated over $ 150,000,After I kept Investing and reinvesting. To be successful, you must take a big step. It all starts here. Forex is also a good investment.

I love watching Kevin O'Leary ever since I started watching Shark Tank. Next to Marc Cuban, He is one of my favorite businessmen that is in the spotlight. He is amongst all the business titans in the market. For this video, they both talk about sweat equity and bootstrapping, which I feel is a great way to start your business and raise capital for it, giving you an authentic sense of growth and scale for your business ventures.

Being doing that since I first watched that video! Yes! We want to focus 100% on the business to make it evolve... But not many people can do that.... So get a second/third job/income and make it happen!
When it's proved and profitable, you can focus on it 100% or even better, diversify!

That's the same thing said by many and its right for the most part, but there are many businesses that have to have x money to run and would take too long to build up the kind of capital needed.
Would be nice to talk about things that would really help. Like how to network better to build relationships that can lead to investors, the best place to learn to make a business plan, and what most investors look for.

I work at a grocery store full-time, as I gain clients little by little, I’m going to cut down to 30 hours, then 20, then 10, then eventually one day a week until I get busy enough with my business and gain revenue to quit my day job.

So, hang on. Now you're 19. You've got to be an 'optimist' about all this, wouldn't you say? :-) (Not just what your profile name suggests.) What did you decide to do? Nothing wrong with being a doctor -- you just have to be really sure to want to commit to that profession (life) before all the studies commence. And you DO know that you (still) time to make it happen. No one is expecting you to have all the answers, especially at a young age. Look at all the young entrepreneurs nowadays killing it in whatever they're doing. You have time. As long as you stay focused. The "Killing me" part is subjective, though a lot of entrepreneurs et al go through this. Look at people with regular jobs/careers who (unfortunately) are not happy with their work choices. They feel it too. Either way, you're going to feel pain. No one is saying that's a bad thing, by the way. It's your perspective. I'm guessing the sooner you start making products the better, no? Best of success!! Hope you make it happen :-)

It seems ludicrous to me that so many start ups seem to value getting venture funding as the main goal rather than something you only do when you absolutely need to. The only rationale I can see is if someone views the companies bank account as their own.

Title is misleading, not really a good example of someone needing to raise capital. Clearly she's new and yes needs to invest sweat equity. But considering the title of the video pertains to raising capital, what advice would you have? Let's say it's a start up with no debt operating over 2 years and gross rev $5m? How do you do it without forfeiting equity? Should one start with a line of credit, first? Etc.

Its like a muscle, in order to build your muscles and get rid of that fat you have to push yourself and work your ass off sweating bleeding even.. to lose that weight. The less you give the less of a gain you get. There is no 1 pill or 1 word fixes all strategy.

Mark working too hard and his looks are starting to support that statement. Live, love, laugh, invest (if you like), don't waste your life overworking or overdoing. It's generally not that hard, but we all make it harder than it needs to be sometimes.

I completely agree. I’m starting my own business and from my past experiences, earning everything and putting in the hard work have made me appreciate what I’m building more. Also with your own capital on the line it incentivizes one not to fail.
