Definitely do that James, it will work no problem, probably fished slow on a fast intermediate line , but change depths until you get action 🎣🐟

Arthur , it fishes on all lines from floating to deep sink lines , depending on what depth the fish are feeding.
Best retrieve is a slow roll poly 👍🎣🐟

Even I have to agree with you on this. A black zonker is must have for wild brown trout too. I think it's best Stillwater lure in my opinion. Even better than woolly buggers.

have been fishing these for a while best as booby patern especialy as a cat, i use minky strips works realy well
