    Great job!! I'm a fan of the flatty's. I have a 1937 80ci U motor I'd like to do a build. I've done 4 others myself, its very rewarding when you get to ride them. First I did a 1942 WLC got the bug. Then a 1932 VL 74ci big twin flatty, then a 1935 VLD 74 ci and just finished a 1949 panhead P model. Itching to do another one.

      Sounds like a great collection. I've never done anything VL but i have done a 1953 Pan with sidecar starting with a beat up frame and cases to a complete bike. Also done a few wlc if you check out my other videos and more to come.

      I checked out your WLDR video. Nice bike. A good friend of mine that passed away few years ago, his older brother (George Boss) raced for Canadian Harley team, flat track on a 45. He was #45. He was their #1 racer at the time. He was killed racing in Ohio. A rider went down in front of him and he laid his bike down to avoid hitting him and he was hit from behind. I have a few good pics of him on his bike.@@Savetherust

    I like what you did. I wouldn't mind emulating you. How did you know what would fit, what wouldn't? Tons of used HD stuff floating around because people customize and build .

      A lot of Harley parts interchange from 1936 to 1978 . Then changes started to occur. You have to look at a lot of parts manuals , ask questions and do research. I’ve been at this for 30 years. I read a lot on old Harley’s and always trying to learn more every day. It’s easier now with you tube , and the internet than before so use them to your advantage. Certain things change which are quite apparent. Rigid frame to swing arm. Mechanical brake to hydraulic. Tin primary to alum . Kick start to electric. 6 volt to 12 etc. take your time. Research the parts and enjoy the process.

    Amazing collection! Congratulations on building your dream bike. She's beautiful. Do you ever sell any of the bikes that you build?

    • @Savetherust
      @Savetherust  7 місяців тому

      i've sold lots of projects over the years , not a lot of completed bikes because after all the time invested its hard to sell them and i build them because i want to ride them. That being said i will have to sell one possibly this year just to finance all the other builds.
