@@ShadyRapture a logo is a dealbreaker for you??? Man, some ppl are really particular. This thing can come with rainbow colours 🌈 and q happy anime load up screen and I'd STILL get it.
Two rules, if you are not a reviewer :) 1. Never be an early adopter of chinese emulator handheld, I learned this in a hard way with Anbernic RG405m from the first batch. 2. Never buy anything without CFW or (rare) normal FW out of the box (Anbernic RG556, Powkiddy RGB30).
The problem is even waiting a few weeks or months makes u still really early and they always discontinue each one for the next thing (at least Aya does) and newer isn’t always better. Early adopter prices are better too. Truth is, they’re all a gamble. Better to get it early, find the issues, and refund or replace it. Of course it helps to wait until the first reviews come from multiple sources.
@@ShadyRapture it is easy to refund, if you buy from amazon, but not, if from China. Anbernic RG405 is almos a year in production. RG505 is even more. I recently bought RG35xx Plus for 57$, shipping included. It was kind of expensive useless brick at the start. Miyoo Mini Plus still in production and even comes with Onion OS.
There's no guarantee there will be a 2nd batch. They're honestly all a roll of the dice, but Miyoo is a reputable company so I'll take my chances. I will be getting Miyoo Flip as soon as it drops. If it's janky I'll just return it. I got myself a retroid flip last year despite some of the complaints and I'm glad I did because not only is it perfection, but as far as I know, it's now out of stock!
The only logical reason people are buying on the get go was because the original Miyoo Mini was so good it ran out of stock and it still the preferred unit over its successors based of on other reviewers rating it exceptionally high.
I am seeing a lot of downvotes on this video, I am confused. It made me give up a little bit on humanity, because everything this guy is saying is actually for the benefit of your own bottom line, but people would rather see youtuber shilling miyoo flip because when they clicked your video, they just want to hear positive thing about it, and basically looking for validation as to why they were right. This is just a perfect example of more larger problem of our society, lots of youtubers (not all but most of them) just there to be an echo chamber, basically an audience inner voices looking for justification for something that they believed and it doesn't matter whether it is true or false. This is why lots of times you see big youtubers are mostly audience captured. They are not voicing their own opinion but their audience opinions.
I didn't get the Retroid flip and never owned a Miyoo, but I had loose/broken hinges on my GPD Win 1 and 2. It's godawful but I just love clamshells, so I might try the next interesting one. I skipped on the GPD Win Mini, but both my XD and Win Max still hold pretty well.
I'm not going buy it when it comes out but, part of me trust Miyoo to make decent hinges. I only had one handheld(edit, emulation handheld), which is the Miyoo Mini Plus and sometimes I forget I'm playing on a cheap Chinese handheld. From what I have seen on UA-cam, there build quality, especially when it comes to d pads, are alot better than the competition.
Dude, I love your nerdiness and honesty. 😂 Unfortunately you are more than likely correct regarding the need for CFW for this device. I sold my Mini Plus despite OnionOS. It's simply not powerful enough, anymore compared to the RG35XX Plus and such. One needs to buy Handhelds by their supported Firmware, otherwise it gives you a headache maintaining all these sd cards with different OS'es. I have 4 JelOS supported devices for a reason.
I have more powerful devices but I cannot bring myself to selling my MM+...but I think of giving away my RG35XX as a gift to a family member or a friend...
It's definitely weaker than most other handhelds that came out recently, but the software is the Chef's kiss for me personally. It's pretty awesome that you focused on all your devices supporting the same CFW. The card-swapping capabilities between them must be off the charts. ❤️
No way I'm sick of just playing with settings now. At this point just buy the the official handhelds because you end up spending alot of money anyways on devices so just buy the original handhelds like GBA PSP 3DS PSvita and so on and modd them with emulation.
You can't just "mod' them with emulator my guy. That would require hacking the GBA. Whcih is not a thing you can do. You have to mod the screen, add rechargeable battery, etc. And you still wouldn't have "emulation". No wifi, no Bluetooth, no HDMI no etc. As for PSP its good for nes, gba, gbc, anything after that, you can't do much. 3ds is goated, but expensive, but you still can't play all ps1, n64 games on it. psvita is a good one, but anything after ps1, it doesn't run well, for example n64. You can buy all these devices but you still wouldn't get the amount of systems you can play with say rg35xx h/plus for 16 and 32 bit era. And something like retroid pocket 2s for everything up to and including the ps2 and GameCube. (not all games run at full speed) Not to mention, something like rechargeable battery mod, ips screen mod, etc, aren't cheap and cost $150 at the very least. You have to pick the systems you want to play before you can even chose what device to mod and you're stuck with them.
I'll use a miyoo with stock OS 😂 it's not the worst. I played my first game on it, zero difference when it came to enjoying my game. I hate the flips design, I wasn't a part of the flip portable generation so I don't have nostalgia for it. I think it's kinda ugly 😂. But I really want those analog sticks, they would be really nice in ps1 and some games with movement like secret of mana.
Flippy boys are nice if they're constructed properly, they totally kill "pocket anxiety", because you know they're basically in turtle mode when you don't use them. I won't encourage you to get more handhelds than you need though, stopping from collecting them is harder to give up than smoking once you start. 😄
