Im a vegan athlete for over a year now, here's my experience: physically: in the beginning lost lot of weight due to lot of misinformation. After a few months gained weight easily and much leaner. Overall health increased extremely. Mentally feeling WAYYYY better, more at peace, mental clarity, more compassion. Best book Ive ever read on this topic: the raw cure: healing beyond medicine - jesse jacoby. i hope this helped you 👊🏽 just make sure to educate yourself properly, theres a lot of false information
I decided to go Vegan three months ago yesterday. I have more energy and more mental clarity than I have ever had before. I completely admire that you have at least contemplated it but I also whole heartily admire your pursuit of making whatever decision it is you make, because you want to and it makes you happy. I wish I could do that more often myself, I struggle with having a very low sense of worth and I think going Vegan was one big step towards empowering myself to do things because they matter to me. Hey Brendan, what's your take on doing squats with higher reps and less weight. Like 10-15 reps. I'm currently training for my first triathlon but I've been lifting at the same time and I want to start doing more on my leg days but I'm not sure if I should go heavy or stay light. I'm just doing the triathlon mainly to say that I did it but my ultimate goal is just all around fitness.

I found out (for example) that it makes you feel having a lot more energy and everything you're doing becomes easier. But it is very important to take supplements! Because your body needs stuff you won't get when you're eating vegan. For example: Vitamine B12! So to be vegan is a good thing but it is important to get informed! ;-)

(Or anyone else that might have an awnser) I have a few questions about leg training : 1) I can do pistol squats with 20kg weight, but i can only do like 10-12 pullups and dips, and one or two HSPU's, is that wierd ? I feel like my legs are a lot stronger than the rest of my body, even though i train them a lot less. 2) I don't have access to a gym, so all i have for squats is a 16kg kettlbell, so i only do pistol squats with it. Is there a problem with this, as in an important portion of weighted squats i can't get from pistols ? 3) Pistols with 16kg are getting to easy, and i can bang out quite a lot of reps before reaching failure, so is there a more challenging move i could be doing, using only bodyweigtht and a kettlebell ? Thanks for reading, and if anyone has some insight, i would be very happy to hear it.

As a strength and conditioning student, I'm sure you know this but 1 it's better/safer/easier to take the bar off the rack backwards when doing squats 2 it looks like your lumbar spine flexes at the bottom of your squat, aren't you worried about potential injuries this may cause?
I never face the mirror when I squat, the only squat rack that doesn't face the mirror was taken.. hence the positioning of the bar. As far as my lumbar spine, I am completing a low bar squat, this will force me to flex at the hips a bit more. Not sure where you are seeing the lumbar flexion though.
I couldn't really see it here but noticed it previously in a different video where I could see from side on where your hips tucked under at the bottom of your spine, I may be mistaken.

I think the vegan idea is great! I was a vegan, but I'm an athlete, didn't know everything about transitioning, and my parents wouldn't pay for a nutritionist. Because you're active and have goals, I think it would be best to consult a dietitian/nutritionist.

+Brendan Sharp Animals on farms are actually given b12 supplements and otherwise wouldn't be high enough in b12 to support our needs. B12 is found in freshwater streams, and soil also. It is produced by bacteria in the intestines. As we move towards industrialisation these natural methods become more difficult to comeby. I know id rather just take a supplement myself than waste hundreds of times that amount of supplements given to the animal over the span of its life (and also avoid so many of the 'bad things')
Look up Jon Venus and Brian turner on youtube. Going vegan was the BEST decision I've ever made in my life. Not only for my body, but for my mind too. I'm no longer depressed and as anxious. Try it out and you'll see for yourself.
I know you dont care about opinions, but just do it man, you guys have it so easy in the US, being vegan is not any harder than eating meat. In my country there's so much prejudice and you can't get vegan stuff in the supermarkets like you guys.

Mohamed Naim get ones that are comfortable, they wont totally prevent your hand from getting hurt if you lift heavy, but it will prevent it from getting too bad.

yo i have really bad skin and I've been adding in about half cup mix of olive oil/apple cider vinegar to my bath, isntantly smoother. Give it a try, can't hurt. Also on the topic of being vegan, I went vegan 6 months ago and it's pretty dope, although I still take fish oils.

+Brendan Sharp Animals on farms are actually given b12 supplements and otherwise wouldn't be high enough in b12 to support our needs. B12 is found in freshwater streams, and soil also. It is produced by bacteria in the intestines. As we move towards industrialisation these natural methods become more difficult to comeby. I know id rather just take a supplement myself than waste hundreds of times that amount of supplements given to the animal over the span of its life (and also avoid so many of the 'bad things')
Look up Jon Venus and Brian turner on youtube. Going vegan was the BEST decision I've ever made in my life. Not only for my body, but for my mind too. I'm no longer depressed and as anxious. Try it out and you'll see for yourself.
I know you dont care about opinions, but just do it man, you guys have it so easy in the US, being vegan is not any harder than eating meat.
In my country there's so much prejudice and you can't get vegan stuff in the supermarkets like you guys.
If you are wondering if your training will suffer, I promise you it will not. I when vegan about 6 months ago and my training has been so much better than it was before going vegan. Love your videos, keep up the good work. :D

yo i have really bad skin and I've been adding in about half cup mix of olive oil/apple cider vinegar to my bath, isntantly smoother. Give it a try, can't hurt. Also on the topic of being vegan, I went vegan 6 months ago and it's pretty dope, although I still take fish oils.
