Hey, so, unfortunately the wiki is under heavy load right now :( we're working on it, but did not plan to have such high volume of traffic! Thanks to the host for mentioning it. Please, check up on the wiki in a couple of days (and not all at once! 😊)

Before visiting to some hackerspace, check if they mention if guests are welcome on the day you are visiting. It just ask on their mailing list / IRC channel.
Most of the time, there is something called "Open Chaos" where guests can visit the space.

I mostly attend to LAN parties there, which are absolutely amazing, just standing there watching 12 people play on games on one desk.. Always told myself I'd visit more often, but sadly am lazy and find it easier to drink club mate behind my own computer at home after I get home from work. Not at all. Many long-time members are somewhat anxious themselves and it's more of a problem when extrovert newbies start to demand to be helped or welcomed, as LiveOverflow explained. Working on own projects is a big part of the hackerspace culture and that's where self-education works best. Go ahead and visit the nearest hackerspace, ask for a Mate and maybe join a discussion. It's very easy to feel at home then :)
