Not only is this a great overall guide that stands out from the same generic videos others have put out, it speaks about the thought process that brought you here in the first place, so we can all learn to adapt as circumstances require. Superb! Many thanks for all the time you put in making this.
Hey man! Initially I thought I would be skipping through this guide since it was 45 min, but the way you organized this whole thing made it perfectly enjoyable and informative, so much so to the point where I did not even notice the passing of time. Well done friend, you deserve all the likes and subscriptions!
Just bought Iceborne and I was wanting to pick up CB and my friend who mains CB sent me this guide. I just wanted to say thanks so much for this guide. The way you explained everything really helped me gain a near complete understanding of this weapon I've never used until today. I appreciate how in-depth this guide was and it told me so many things that other tutorials I looked at never even mentioned, let alone explained. The detail of this guide was amazing, and the way you explained more obscure parts of the charge blade rivaled the way other guides spoke about the more important parts of CB. I just wanted to show appreciation for this guide that really made this weapon a hundred times more accessible to someone who's never even upgraded the weapon until today.
Thank you greatly for both your awesome feedback and support. It means a lot to me to hear the experience of different type of players in the game and hearing a beginners perspective who is learning and searching through various guides to give feedback as you have, is just awesome! Once again many thanks and hope you enjoy the learning process as most of us CB mains truly love.
3:35 It's crazy to think that every cb player knows that long ass combo (or a similar, and equally long) by heart, I never realized how many steps it took. To anyone getting into cb, don't be scared the more you know about cb the more sense every button of the combo makes
Yeah after 2000hrs with near 3000 CB uses, I ran into confusion when trying to explain the combo for my newbie friend, I can't remember those button combinations when not touching my controller xD
I definitely F that one up sometimes, I have a tendency to do (Hold B, Y+B, Hold B, RT B) > (RT, Hold B, Y, RT B) which has a higher chance of over heating your sword. I gotta remember to do this one as its faster and better (Y, Hold B, Y, RT B) > (RT , Hold B, Y, RT B) ^.^'
This is one of the most in-depth CB guide I've ever found. Thank you so much for having spent lots of time on this video. Really appreciate your effort and passion for the weapon! I certainly have learned a thing or two off this video!
This has made me want to get back into MHW even more. As much as I love Rise and have been enjoying it, I've been missing the bigger indepth and large biomes of World.
Im having my first fresh replay after 1 year of finishing iceborne. It feels so much better than rise. I had fun only by walking around and gathering stuffs 🫠
This is hands down the best CB or some of the best weapon guide content I have ever seen. Where have this bro gone. Just know your content still helping people who are late to IB. Thank you.
What I respect most about this is that you are conscious of the example you are setting with your own runs and you explain why some of your builds contradict your advice of using Focus. That's a level of thoughtfulness not enough people put into their work.
It means so much coming from you, especially from a “quality” renowned MHW Guides content creator! Appreciate your huge support especially promoting me on your own UA-cam and hope to see more awesome content from you!! 🥰👊
Halfway through the guide atm. Amazing stuff. Been planning to pick up this weapon since my first hunts but it always scared me away with its complexity. Now I'm in the training mode with this guide by my side practicing all these things and geez, it feels great! Thanks!
That’s fantastic news and really glad to hear your enjoying learning the CB. Yeah this guide is designed for you to keep referring back too and practicing alongside so I’m delighted to see it work for you! It looks complicated but when you start doing the initial combos without even thinking, you work on the next steps, it’s really fun and rewarding developing your own progress.
Just here to say you did a smashing job on this guide. As someone only getting to grips with the CB I thought every part of this was super helpful, especially in visualising how to improve moving forward. Great effort my dude 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 and a big thank you
Much love for the awesome support and I promise you’ll love the journey to a great CB main!!! Be very patient with the weapon and understand the fundamentals and advance tips throughout my guides ;-)
This has to be the most in-depth, well thought out and organized videos on CB I've ever stumbled upon. I'm gonna keep this video at hand since I need to generally improve my damage opportunities with the weapon.Tbh I'm a CB main, but after watching this for the first time I already noticed many of my mistakes regarding my DPS output. Thank you for all the hard work!
this is pure gold, hands down the best in-depth guide for me so far. inspiring. i'll have to watch it maybe 300 times, but that's ok lol. these 47 min go like a breeze. thank u for your efforts! much appreciated.
This is THE guide for Chargeblade. If you’re anything like me then you’re scouring YT for charge blade guides. Well I’m here to tell you, this one is it
only came to learn the mindset of the two different playstyle and when to use either style. came out started rethinking on how i play CB in general.... and i just started playing the game again few days ago. 10/10 would definitely come back to watch again.
World was my introduction to the series, and for some reason I constantly gravitated towards CB because everything just clicked. And for a while I was kicking ass. But after beating Shara and unlocking the Guiding Lands, I realized that I need to understand this weapon better and honestly this guide is eye opening.
Really grateful for you breaking down the CB, been a CB main for so long, i know know the combos, do minimal managing phials. but the greater insight has proven to change my style on playing.
I was exactly the same and always just did things without even thinking... then when I started to speedrun I had to think about what combos are the most effective in certain parts of the fight, which then made me realise, “oh shit, ppl out there must be the same,” so I did this to help ppl better themselves. It’s applying discipline to what you already know in a way 🙏
Lovely Guide here. I just wanted to add to 3:35. I prefer over charging my phails (red phail) before charging my shield. So I'll load the first set into the shield, overcharge phails, charge the shield, load the second set (you'll still have the overcharged phails after charging the shield) then immediately charge sword slam. The combo is very similiar, I just charge the shield at the end of the combo, followed by the charged sword. Whether this is more efficient, I can't tell you. This is just a variation I've grown to like using.
Took me a few days to completely watch this guide, but boy was it worth it. Thanks so much for the time you invest on this and props on how well it came out. 👌🏼
This video is all that i ever wanted to know about charge blade and more! Thank you for posting this! It would be sick if you made an example full hunt and told why you performed every move and your thought process!
Glad you enjoyed it and I’ve had so many requests for what you’re requesting and is a series I’m very strongly thinking about! Out of curiosity, what’s your opinion on monsters I should start the series out with?
Agent Wildfire Great suggestion! I’d like to hear more ideas from you and I’m sure the team would appreciate you, come join our discord community: discord.gg/XUBKkAB
I just recently started MHW and picked up savage axe as my main so I really appreciate this video along with your Guard point video. I hope you start making video tutorials again for MH: Wilds next month
Your guide are soooo good, i'mjust starting to use your advice on phial management and guard pointing and i feel already so much better than i was before...its so well explain👍
Love from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean 🤟🏾❤... you're awesome bro, i subscribed (dark souls veteran also)... no other youtube channel is as in depth as yours ..trust me i know ... I've been searching for months and none come close to you ... you are the best🏆🥇 (I'm now a more capable charge blade main because of you..thank you)
the time and effort put into this video is insane!!! you can definitely tell in the information and the quality of the video how passionate ya really are for the game thanks so much for all the insane tips and tricks
I immediately recognized the cover version of Bloody Tears during your conclusion: I’ve loved that particular version for several years now, nice to hear it!
I've played CB since I started MHW. I watched dozens if guides on it and this is one of the best. The section on timers and phial resets was incredibly useful. SAED is dead and I have found my new religion. I subscribed as soon ad I finished this video!
DUDE! You just made me that much better of a CB player. I just recently started maining CB and have a really good Shattershield setup. Your guide has me really clipping my kill times down and aiming better for max dps, both in SAED and Savage play styles.THANKS HOMIE!
Thanks for this guide. Watched your Fatalis run a few weeks back and decided to have another go at learning CBlade. You're guide is one of the most comprehensive guide I've found so far and has got my basic muscle memory of charging; to a point where I'm more comfortable with the weapon.
I've been playing CB for ~250 hrs and in the first minute of the video I learn you could charge phials into an immediate axe spin attack. blows my mind
Such an amazing an in-depth content! Love it, I have been trying to get a grip on the CB for a while now and this has definitely hit the nail on the head on all the details that I need. Thank you! Keep up the great work
Btw, After watching this guide I easily improved my skills so much I started soloing monsters sub 10mins while carting less and increased my DPs output. This has changed my views on the weapon itself
I just came across this guide in my Recommended after watching about ten CB guides over the past few months. I would search for Rise guides so I guess that’s why I missed this masterpiece. I know Savage Axe’s mechanics have changed but besides that info pretty much, this stuff still works in Rise. You obviously put some time into this, and I greatly appreciate it. You’re a great teacher and organize the information in a smooth flow. Big Ups! Edit: 13:44 Do you knock Rajang down here by guard pointing his super? I thought you couldn’t block that without Guard Up. Just confused is all lol. Thank you!
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to give some great feedback it’s much appreciated!! It’s funny but yeah a lot of info here can relate to Rise I guess and yes I did knock him down with guard pointing and it is because I used Guard Up which I believe is mandatory against specifically Furious in Iceborne. Just gives you more options to move more fluid in the fight. Thanks again buddy!
Hey man. I just want to say that I’m glad to have found your guide about CB. I was the monke see monke bonk main, but now I am an young sociable male specimen. Thanks you so much for your guide!
Just started playing MHW like two weeks ago. Your guides is such a blessing since I want to main CB and send my melee friends flying for interrupting me on my combos. lol. you got a new subsriber! love your content man!
Thx and really appreciate your support!! I wish I had something like this when I started which would have accelerated my learning, so consider yourself lucky 🥰
Thanks for making a Charge Blade guide. I'm trying to lern Charge Blade and from what my friend told me, i didn't even know that you could charge your axe mode.
Well organized, informative, clear and concise explanations. Great job on this guide Sh3rmsy, I found lots of techniques and efficiencies to work on and improve so I can make my hunts smoother. Thanks :)
Started using CB to spice up things a bit and glad I've found your vid. Why not, at least try, to learn it the right way from the start. Thanks for your effort.
Very well explained, so much details and information. Thank you for this useful guide. To be honest, my first thought was "wow, such a long video" but well, there is 47 min of outandout information, just to the point, very well organized and explained. Nice pace btw, peaceful voice. You know, maybe you could make a abridged version of this video, just to catch a larger audience. Anyway, nice video, time to train and happy hunting
i started playing on multiple platforms and i even got my buddies to play too they all picked up the chargeblade and now we are just a bunch of cb users running around fucking shit up and i have been linking them your videos to watch and without surprise they are all WAYYY better with cb now and can actually utilize it correctly im telling you man the videos you make are amazing and super helpful, the details are immaculate and the ease of understanding cb concepts really is described perfectly
I'm surprised this vid posted last May, I thought every MHW guide video posted looong time ago. I bought mhw and iceborne less than two weeks ago, been playing for 100 hours, 99% using CB, and just today I found out Savage Axe mode, damn, why did they hide the icon when it is inactive... . In the end, this video is so GREAT, wayyy Greater than The Greatest Jagras
Let's go!! Glad my content was able to make you see the light and hope it's taken your gameplay to the next level. Would be awesome to have you join our community and we can help you with any questions: discord.gg/jgANvE3
i'm only watching around 30 minutes in (saed playstyle) since yesterday, but goddaym what a difference those phial management advices are, now i get more consistent at dealing damage during the hunt.
Since I bought Mhw ice borne with over 120 hours of game time 99% of it I was starting out CB and never knew anything about savage axe form I only knew about Shield and sword charge and SAED it wasnt til a buddy of mine told something about the savage axe form in which was similiar to the mount attack which led me to curiosity to see if there was such thing to have the axe spin and all like it does for mounting and stumbling upon this video had me surprised and amazed as I learn about the savage axe form now. If it wasnt for my buddy mentioning about it and this video I would never have known especially since I normally learn just by myself and I gotta say this has been an amazing guide especially to have time stamps this has been a great vid and I couldn't have been any more satisfied than how I am now thx you very much
Your feedback and support means so much to me and so glad you’re thoroughly valuing the guide. I assume there’s a ton of others who are in a similar situation with and appreciate you shared your experience!
Thanks for this! I always thought the charge blade was cool but I'm really bad at it. This guide has made me want to try it again now that I'm better informed.
Hi! Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your videos. There is a tremendous amount of work and information behind them and it shows. I already played a bit of cb, but your guard pointing video made so it is my main weapon now. Learning to guard point and starting to do it naturally as a reflex has been the most fun I've had playing this game (Also ko'ing monsters off guard points has to be the most satisfying move in the entire game, don't @ me). There is a lot of information to digest in this one, and I look forward to getting better and better playing the different playstyles. I had entirely dropped Unga Bunga SAED style, but I now realize that I had been playing that suboptimally so I'll have to give it another try. Phial management looks and feels like an entirely separate science inside the weapon. For now I'll follow your advice and integrate Focus on my builds, since I'd been skipping it because it felt a bit too comfortable. I still feel that I'm very bad at both the weapon and the game, and your videos kinda point the direction I have to go towards if I want to improve, so thank you very much for that. Finally suggestions... I'm a sucker for builds and combinations of skills so I'd be curious about the builds you run with the CB's you use more frequently, and how those builds directly affect the playstyle you decide for the hunt.
What fantastic feedback and thanks for sharing your experience!! I’m glad these guides are helping and yes Focus just makes you get charged ASAP so you can start positioning yourself for real damage. The reason a lot of my speedruns don’t use focus is that they are scripted runs where I practically know or plan for certain moves to happen and every one of my hits/charges is prepared for optimum damage. I never use my No Focus speedrun builds on my casual hunts or multiplayer speedruns since I can’t anticipate as well in multiplayer, thus wasting time charging is not an option. Plus more focus means you can react quicker with guard points etc. It’s completely normal to start slow with the CB, it took me a while to really get to grips with it especially effectively Guard pointing. Optimum phial management was never on my radar until I did multiple speedruns where I realised calculating certain combos at certain situations of the fight was necessary. I hope you keep enjoying the CB and would love to have you join our discord if you want to get more tips etc: discord.gg/UJsYUsK
Great video, I used to main CB in the base game, but haven't played almost any iceborne yet and this guide gave me some much needed insight on how savage axe mode was played, before I only saw a few videos of it and I was under the impression that you just enter savage axe mode and then stay in axe mode the whole time, doing the 1 combo and I didn't get a fun impression of it, now I'm thinking of picking up the game again to play around with CB some more. One suggestion I have is maybe instead of saying the buttons for each input type you could say the ingame actions for example instead of saying "hold B->Y->RT+B->hold Y" you could say "hold special->normal->charge phials->condensed element slash" or even "hold special->normal->special+guard->hold normal" so only the knowledge of the base actions is required if the expectation is that the viewer doesn't know the names of all of the attacks/actions with combined inputs.
Glad to hear you inspired to pick it up again!! I also really appreciate your feedback and I’ve had similar feedback which is honestly a really good idea for multi platform purposes. I’ll defo keep that in mind for future tutorials. You should join our discord and would love to hear your progress!
This was a very good and informative video. I typically run all weapons with a huge LS bias, but this video will definitely have a positive effect on how I run CB. Thanks.

I was instantly attracted to charge blade after starting today and your guides make learning it much easier thank you!
This is one of the most in-depth CB guide I've ever found. Thank you so much for having spent lots of time on this video. Really appreciate your effort and passion for the weapon! I certainly have learned a thing or two off this video!
That’s awesome to hear and thanks a lot for recognising my efforts 🙏
This has made me want to get back into MHW even more. As much as I love Rise and have been enjoying it, I've been missing the bigger indepth and large biomes of World.
Im having my first fresh replay after 1 year of finishing iceborne. It feels so much better than rise. I had fun only by walking around and gathering stuffs 🫠
@@dungtien4375Yea, the only map I really enjoyed walking around in rise was jungle. Everything else is so bland
Woops sorry for not replying earlier, this slip through the net, but I sincerely appreciate you acknowledging my efforts and your awesome support!
I started playing recently and instantly fell in love with this weapon. Thank you for the detailed guide!
Anytime buddy! Thanks for the support 🙏
Keep up the good work, man. The community needs your insane dropping of CB knowledge bombs.
Thanks!

EASILY THE BEST GUIDE. DO THIS ALSO FOR WILDS 🔥🔥
ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!
Me, coming into this video: Charge Blade looks cool, I wanna learn it!
Me, watching the first combo: Haha, nope.
It looks complicated but when you start doing the initial combos without even thinking, you work on the next steps, it’s really fun and rewarding developing your own progress.
The first time you do it is the moment where it you are like"hey this ain't too bad actually"

Took me almost 100 hours with it to learn I could charge my shield in 4U
I love this box of surprises
@@arzr_er I did alot of base world without charging the shield
Just here to say you did a smashing job on this guide. As someone only getting to grips with the CB I thought every part of this was super helpful, especially in visualising how to improve moving forward. Great effort my dude 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 and a big thank you
Much love for the awesome support and I promise you’ll love the journey to a great CB main!!! Be very patient with the weapon and understand the fundamentals and advance tips throughout my guides ;-)
This is by far the best CB guide I have ever watched. Thank you for your wisdom sensei
Your cb videos are still the best on yt. 3 years later and i still come back to watch the gameplay and hear what you have to say
Oh wow, your words are too kind 😜 Glad you still enjoy it and find value 🙏
This has to be the most in-depth, well thought out and organized videos on CB I've ever stumbled upon. I'm gonna keep this video at hand since I need to generally improve my damage opportunities with the weapon.Tbh I'm a CB main, but after watching this for the first time I already noticed many of my mistakes regarding my DPS output. Your most welcome and appreciate your support 🙏
I"ve been loving your videos since I found out about ur channel a while ago, so much info and I love it!
Glad you’re enjoying them, cheers for the support bro!
only came to learn the mindset of the two different playstyle and when to use either style. came out started rethinking on how i play CB in general.... and i just started playing the game again few days ago. 10/10 would definitely come back to watch again.
Really glad you enjoyed it and have fun playing the game with a new insight 👊
I’m 2:40 in..... had to pause to comment like and favorite. Thank you ahead of time! I can tell this is going to be great!!
Very much appreciated, but let me know your honest verdict at the end, good or bad ;-)
Took me a few days to completely watch this guide, but boy was it worth it. Thanks so much for the time you invest on this and props on how well it came out. 👌🏼
You're most welcome and it's always better late, then never 😉 Cheers for your support!!
Thanks for the guide! I picked up CB today after dabbling in DB and SnS speedruns, and I've gotta say I'm liking it so far!

I've played CB since I started MHW. I watched dozens if guides on it and this is one of the best. The section on timers and phial resets was incredibly useful. SAED is dead and I have found my new religion. I subscribed as soon ad I finished this video!
Love the bgm, wild arms is one of my favorites.
DUDE! You just made me that much better of a CB player. I just recently started maining CB and have a really good Shattershield setup. Your guide has me really clipping my kill times down and aiming better for max dps, both in SAED and Savage play styles.THANKS HOMIE!

Btw, After watching this guide I easily improved my skills so much I started soloing monsters sub 10mins while carting less and increased my DPs output. This has changed my views on the weapon itself
It was our pleasure to help sh3rmsy ❤️ in case the discord link is buggy we’ll include another in the comment replies 😊

Nice dude I hoped on Mh4u and have been a charge blade user. This guide really helped me decide how to use my philas more often
That’s what I’m talking about and glad you appreciate it! Go kick some ass 🥾
Fantastic Guide, using all these little tricks makes using the CHb even more fun and it was already my fav weapon
This was a very good and informative video. I typically run all weapons with a huge LS bias, but this video will definitely have a positive effect on how I run CB. Thanks.
