To me, the best soft plastic baits are the Z-MAN brand.
I wish they'd find a way to prevent the chemical reaction with plastisol, though.

Googan makes decent baits, I use and stand by a lot less durable soft plastics😂 I think the majority of Googan hate comes from old heads that see the young anglers using them. Their baits and flashy approach to advertising attract a lot of new anglers to the sport that don’t quite understand proper etiquette. Nice video, I like their plastics, bandito bug and slimshake worm for the win!
Yeah they mad cause they also get out fished by youngsters using that bait.

@@MF-Rell Yeah for example, don’t leave balls of line in the water, throw away you twisted tea cans and other garbage, don’t walk up and stand 10 ft away from someone because you saw them catch a fish right there? You haven’t experienced this? Mostly comes from either younger guys who don’t understand etiquette when it comes to fishing or old trash who are blatantly disrespectful in all other aspects of life too.
@@kentuckesseeangler 10 feet away is plenty of space to cast, sometimes we fish shoulder to shoulder at the bridge like 6 feet apart when the season is in. I don't mind when people come up next to me and they see me catching unless they're so close it's like impossible for me to cast

Googan is headquartered more or less in my backyard. Their baits are as fragile as the ego's of their youtube marketing "personalities". It's not that they don't catch fish it's that they don't match the hype that Googan produces. That is why people get irritated because they are expecting a Zman product and that is not the reality. Beyond that a lot of people just can't stand the personalities of the hype men. They are mostly marginal fisherman who produce for clicks not for decent fishing content. Pricing they are similar to other products but again when you are expecting a product that is more durable and it doesn't happen people feel duped. Their hard baits lines are a mixed bag. A few good ones. The revolver is junk. The Eat Me Frog is terrible (made for marketing not consistent hook ups), and their spinnerbaits bend easily. Finally, some people just are generally annoyed by the cult following like Googan is the only product on the market.

@@lowlifeangler I didn’t say they don’t ever catch fish I said that frog does not consistently get good hookups for the hype. There are simply way better frogs out there. There is a reason you can buy 3 get one Free.
@@txhuntsman For some reason nothing was hitting on my Booyah Frog and Ribbit frog. So they nailed the Googan frog. So you will never know. All Googan baits was buy 3 get one free.

I think they copy off other companies I will give to them with their jigs that's there design custom weed guard . But there plastic s and hard baits I've heard a lot of terrible things about there baits.. and the other thing those young kids would never be able to make the money they have made with out Scott Martin I also think they are a bunch of spoiled brats and especially their a bunch of showoffs. But that's kids for ya .
They are definitely to soft. I threw a whole pack of googan darts one time and every single bait ripped. Not even a single fish was caught on them either. When they can’t withstand casting and retrieving, there’s a problem. None of them are worth the price. I will only buy them on sale, or from the dollar store. The dollar stores near me sell googan stuff for $3. That’s about what their products are worth. The best thing about the soft plastics is the scent lasts for literally months on end.
I’ve used their stuff, and I use the competitions stuff. I’ve used soft plastics from strike king literally all day long. You could never do that with a googan plastic. Thats probably by design. They sell more when you go through more. It’s all cheap. They sell cheap shit at premium prices. There is probably a reason tacticalbassin has never recommended a googan product even once. Those guys test everything.
I don’t dislike them either. That’s just the honest truth from my experience.

I do like googan baits, same with Xzone baits and the New Rapala Baits. But the reason Googan gets so much hate is due to the fact that they aren't very durable, for the price. Additionally, other than the Bandito Bug, if you're trying to skip they don't really always hold up due to how easily the material rips compared to other brands at the same price point being strike king and zoom. Also they don't really come in many color variations.
However majority of the hate comes from the UA-camrs affiliated with them. The drama, the constant "fake boat give aways" and other things trying to promote the brand. Basically their marketing approach along with the youtubers they sponsor is what ultimately along with the durability, price, and limited color is what caused all the hate.

Googan Dart soft jetkbait on a weightless screw-lock hook, is the best soft jerkbait I've ever used...was my go to this year, with multiple 5+ lb'ers and a 7+...trophies for ohio
A lot of it stems from them knocking off their competitors' lures. I think there are many others that associate the brand with certain content creators they don't care for. They have a few solid pros/serious fishermen under the brand, but far more casual fishermen and goofballs (nothing wrong with fishing casually, but maybe not the best for a brand that wants to be taken seriously). For me, there is just a lack of innovation that drives me away. It seems they are just reproducing lures that already exist and targeting the younger generation with their marketing. Just checked the website again and there isn't a single unique product there from what I can tell.
Every bait manufacturer copies off of every other manufacturer. Nobody is really reinventing the wheel.

@@andybales7318 Every similar company has staple baits, like crankbaits, jerkbaits, frogs, etc. For the most part, however, other companies will have several products that are unique to the brand or at least possess traits that separate their products from competitors. A few examples - the 6th Sense Panorama, the 6th Sense Treble Head, the 13 Fishing Shadow Spin, the 13 Fishing Pathfinder, the Megabass Dark Sleeper (has since been imitated by several companies), the Savage Gear 4D Trout Rattle Shad (the list is endless). Not only does Googan not have any original or unique products, but they have blatantly backdoored companies by reaching out to their manufacturers and reproducing identical lures, only changing the outside appearance.

My experience is they just aren’t durable and are over priced. When I pick them up on clearance I use them. But if I’m spending $8 I’ll go Berkley.
Roboworm and Z Man is my favorites.
Some people will hate whatever their told to hate or if they think the hate will make them look cool or advance their status in the imaginary club. I’ve made custom baits for guys who didn’t even use them because another bait maker told them not to. Very few can think for themselves and stand on solid ground.
I am a Googan fan. Trench hawg and B-bug are my favorites. I do believe they are a little on the soft side, but I also believe that fish find the softer bait to be more natural. I conducted a survey this past year and 9 out of 10 bass caught agreed with me.
lol, If you want to catch fish you gotta use what works. Experienced anglers and professionals always used "Hand pours". They have always caught more fish, but always had the same problem "since ancient times". 30 years ago soft plastics used to be a lot cheaper and you got more per package, so there wasn't much reason to complain. I'll have to try the Trench Hawgs, already use the Banditos.

I really do like their products and the smell of the slaunch sauce. They catch good fish and work well. I do agree that they are less durable than most other soft plastics but they get a lot of bites. My fav is the lunker logs and Rattlin Ned. The Rattlin Ned in MoonCake has worked wonders for me, bass love them!
I think yamamoto baits are the softest on the market. They catch fish but, they don't last for more than two fish before they are torn beyond use. And they are very expensive compared to Big Bite baits or Gamblers.
I sent them an email that they should turn the slaunch sauce into a cologne. I don’t even like cologne and I’d wear that.

Hey man. This the first video of yours I've watched. I also enjoy Googan baits. They are the Nickelback of the bait world. People hate on them because it's fun to do. If you look up the patent numbers on the packaging. You'll see googan baits are actually just rage tail baits just a little different. They both have the same patent number that's how you can tell. Also, I'm from Michigan! Southwest, I get 4 days off a week so hit me up some time to go slap some bass!!!
I fish for Columbia river smallmouth and use the Rattlin’ Ned. PB&J, Cali Craw, and Mooncake are great colors….they work as a great alternative to a TRD if you want a little sound.
I’ve always wondered why googan gets soo much hate , I use their rods , baits , and always do pretty good with them

I don't think it has anything to do with the quality. I've had nothing but positive results with Googan. The real issue is that Googan went hard on the influencer approach. That UA-cam personality just turns some people off. That same thing is also why some of those channels have a million followers. In the end, I really do believe it has nothing to do with the performance.
the baits work great. The issue is they tear too easily. i get you addressed that. but i dont think ive ever caught a fish on a bandito bug and didnt have to get a new one. where as a rage bug, i can usually catch 3 or more bass without rerigging. i personally dont mind replacing it if they work, but rage bug vs bandito bug are pretty similar in performance and price. However, i use zoom, which also rips often but i feel like the performance and price are good enough to make it worth it.
I think the hate started coming from them copying other competitors baits. Like sixth sense. Sounds like some normal corporate a holes
They are both rip offs of Japanese baits though.
I think people are just jealous of their success It just comes down to that. I am an old man and they remind me of when I was young and fishing. Good for their success..
I’ve used them often. And they work well here in central Cali. But I still use others
My thing is if I’m paying a lot of money for a bait I want it to be high end, like 6th sense, their product are just as pricey as googan, but they are made very durable, work well, actually are made in the U.S., and are high quality, only some of googan actually works well, but is not durable and are not high quality.
The stick baits are soft inside but I like them for night bassin

My area in NC the price is the same at every store 7.99 I’ve tried the slim shake and bandito bug they are good but too much for me. I’ve went to zman for the longevity of the plastic. People are 100% mad about the “UA-cam into millionaires “
Thr Mondo worms are fantastic, i ve caught many big bass down here in Florida on those.
I don't get the hate for Grogan baits I have used them. They catch fish. I don't think they're over priced about six bucks for a pack of plastics you can and I have gotten a day of fishing on a bag of baits they hold up about as good as the others. Imo. No hate here on Googan
I like the "Saucy Swimmer" quite well! I Had SO Many Smallies BLAST Em!! BUT... biggest drawback IS they're TOO "saucy"! I mean, i understand what you're saying but, na, it's not a normal occurrenc, actually. Yes, plastics tear. Googans Saucy Swimmer gets slapped straight off the hook simply from the initial StrikE! Not even getting a chance to be thrashed with head shakes! I like em but, they DEFINITELY be better, more resilient brands to use! Good coverage tho!🤘
They are competitivly priced, and durability is usually a trade off for action. I dont think they are anything special though. The Bandito Bug is really the only one I use, sometimes a lunker log if I cant find my usual stick baits.
Most peoples complaints are that they don’t last. But in reality the only one that really lasts through several fish is z-man. Otherwise they’re all close to equal on it.
People complaining about the durability are the same people that buy Yamamoto Senkos in bulk. Notorious for their lack of durability. They both have their place. Im not a major googan baits fan, but they arent bad lol.
Many brands feed upon myths that anglers hear and spread. #1 Softer is better. In most cases Bass don't want something flapping all over the place. A more subtle action is usually better. #2 They add salt to baits which does not attract a Bass or make it hold on any longer. Both of these things makes them look good to you, but they also make baits weak so you keep coming back for more.
As far as Googan. A lot of people just don't like the guys representing them and their UA-cam antics.
I know Zman is great but I tend to use and catch most of my bass on Yum baits and Zoom baits. Gary Y is good stuff too.
i dont hate em, im inbetween. i enjoy their clothing, their crappie underspins, and even the grubbies. but i dont have much luck on anything else.
I buy them cause i love Lo'jo's videos... just saying.
For me, the biggest problem I had with GOOGAN was the over the top, obnoxious college frat boy bro personalities of the Googan Squad. I've tried a few of their soft plastics and they're ok. The new Saucy Slimmer seems worth a try.
Zoom may not be the absolute best, but there hard to beat. When in doubt go with zoom

They get av lot of hate because it's a couple of influencers that decided to make their own bait company. Can't argue with what works. The baits work but they are less durable than some others. But honestly the biggest reason they get the hate is because they did it differently than other brands and they outsell those brands with a lot of what they offer. Just like any fandom some love a certain brand and this company created by UA-camrs came in and took over a lot of space. But again they work and that's all that matters if you want to catch fish.
People hate on googan because it the popular thing to do, yes they have some bad baits and some issues but that’s pretty much every company that makes baits you’re gonna have some misses, I use any brand I could care less but I’ve caught plenty of fish on googan baits the bandito bug is definitely my favorite.

Not a fan. I fish a swim jig early spring all the way into fall. Tried their grass hero jig last year and it comes through gas terribly. Dirty Jigs is just a superior jig. As far as soft baits, I just can’t get behind it. I expect plastics to rip, but they’re asking a premium for baits that rip in one or two fish, when a lot of other plastics provide better action, and last longer. Their rods price point is also insane for quality, I’ll continue with my Dobyns rods, plastics of various other brands, and wont touch their hard baits.
I really tried to like em, cause I’ve been following Jon B and LFG for the better part of 5 years+. But they suck, imo.

Dude one bite the mondo worm and 9 times out 10 bandito bug too is history I have fished for bass for 40 years there are a lot more baits that have better durability
I like several of their baits. Nothing is a durable as elaztec. The fishing industry did not welcome them. Look how they were treated at Icast. Kudos to them on their success and glad for them especially since they broke control of the old school fishing industry.

Bandito bugs are scented good and catch me fish. They are soft and rip after a fish but so do senkos.
well,@Jimgoesfishing, are you hip to trends in culture? they come and go in fishing, too. some stick and some do not. I have watched some of those guys back in the day laugh at folk with gear not as nice as theirs. Also, some of the original GoofySquad don't even have anything to do with fishing anymore , so that tells me their hearts were never in it.And as far as their baits; Ive made it my entire fishing rebirth over the last 5 years without donating a red cent to anything Googan.& Ive caught PLENTY of BIGGUNS..I actually have a playlist called " biggun alert". gonna sub to help out cuz I know how it is bud-keep on keeping on!! #fishing #bassfishing #nature
Googan and yum tear easily. But they also produce fish for me the most. Thats a trade off im willing to make.
At my local tackle store all googan baits are gray no other color

The problem I have with the baits besides the price is thw cheap quality. The ned rigs r fire but unless u crazy glue them thwy last maybe 2 fish. The revolver in my opinion is better than the whopper plopper BUT I have broken 6 of them. One got caught on cattails I yanked it out and the prop snapped. Dropped one thw prop snap. Caught a 4 pound bass and the whole bait bent

It's not that they are bad baits, it's that they stole the designs from other companies, barely tweeked them and slapped their own name on the packaging. They blatantly ripped off 6th Sense. Clickbait is a Chatterbait. And they generally charge more.
I can see some of the hate, but not at the level I've seen it at. At the end of the day, soft plastics are soft plastics. Obviously, some are better than others. That can be said of anything though. Some of the Googan Squad products are absolute trash. That said, a few of their baits are fire! My absolute favorite bait right now, is a football head jig with a GS Rattlin' Krackin Kraw as a trailer. It's been $$ here in CA. Seriously, I call it my "cheater jig" because it works so well, it feels like cheating. Yet, I can't get a bite to save my life on a Rattlin ned rig or drag and drop worm. I think there's a lot to be said about the perception vs. reality argument here. Do googan baits overall work? Yes. Are there better products on the market? Absolutely! Use what makes you happy. Shut up and fish lol.

The reason I don't support their baits is bc they try to sell us an inferior plastic and sell it at a high price. Ever since then I don't trust them. I don't think their baits suck matter fact the bandito wore them out on my lake. But after 1 fish it was falling off the hook. Btw I've tried almost every plastic and none of them tore up near as bad as googan. I've been told they fixed the issue. So maybe in the future I'll try em again but them selling the cheap plastic really turned me off from them.
Do u use Yamamoto senkos? If you do, u are a hypocrite...they don't last more than a fish & are very expensive
@@andybales7318 no honestly haven't tried them. I've used zoom Gman one pack of 6th sense and a couple more that slip my mind and absolutely none of the tore as easily as googan. So being called hypocrite extreme. I'm not sure why you have a crush on them like you do. But selling people an inferior plastic at a high price is going to lose customers. So let's leave their name calling out of it.

I bought them when they first launched and my problem is they are pricey and far too soft and oily.. they suck!!! I fish JDM mostly now. If you watch Jon B's early video when he use to show his soft plastics more you'd see he had to change bait like every fish! I also do not like most of the Googans~! Peric, Jon, and Justin are the only one's I watch. The rest drive me nuts with chick bait video names and just doing the dumbest things for view. "I have money now" let me burn it doing these dumb videos to get 12yr olds to watch my content. BUT like I said JDM is superior! They last and are super dope baits. One day you'll wake up :D
I go for a bait that’s cheaper and more durable and it catches the same fish. Googan is overpriced and not durable at all.
It wins a few dollars in reality, but placed in the hands of the right anglers it would sell. It would just sit on the shelves and collect dust in my store, and i'm one of the top in my state. Good luck to that company, just another copy cat company. And another thing that hurts a company, when "who is this guy" does UA-cam videos
Hardbaits and swim baits are overpriced. And underwhelming. But there plastics are GREAT

Googan baits are garbage. Majority of these kids use these baits and leave the packages everywhere.. just goes to show u that real fisherman don't use them because real fisherman don't leave trash to begin with.
