I can't believe that this woman is not very well known today. She embodies a very distinctive voice and a very Imitatable persona like Marilyn Monroe. I hope I am not the only young person discovering this divine lady She is simply Dahling!!!
A true original, there will never be another like Tallulah! Too bad she is nearly forgotten, she should be more appreciated. Aside from her stage career, she was wonderful in the far too few films she was in. I particularly liked 'The Cheat'.
Tallulah made "rich stuck up snobbery" cool! 😀 Totally love her work!! An awesome actress and personality. Proud to say, my 18 year old daughter has loved her since she was 6 years old. I'd say I raised her right. 😜
This is the first time I've ever seen Tallulah Bankhead. I must say that her stage presence is captivating and I can't stop smiling. Thank you for the pleasure of introducing me to such a brilliant actress. 👏

I am so glad that I am old enough to have seen Tallulah perform on Milton Berle, What's My Line and other early variety shows. She was truly unique and a joy to watch.
If you like Tallulah, check out her appearance on the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour from 1957. I've heard Lucy tell the story that Tallulah was so unreliable during rehearsals she (Lucy) was afraid the taping of the show would be a complete disaster. But Tallulah was spot on and hilarious throughout. Check it out!

So well done. I have come to appreciate her all over again. If she catches on once more, look for Streep's next imitation mascarading as deep acting. These stars of the past show what real talent and uniqueness were. We can't find them today, that's for sure.

@Cheryl Lynne: Being anti-German because of WW2, she made negative remarks toward her Austrian co-star in "Lifeboat." Here's a quote from IMDB's trivia page on the film: "Tallulah Bankhead was noted for her fierce political positions, including a vehement hatred of the Axis powers during World War II. Although co-star Walter Slezak was an outspoken critic of the German government, his Austrian background and the Nazi character he played in this movie put him firmly in Bankhead's sites, and she insulted him constantly. When Italy surrendered during filming, and Slezak expressed the hope that this would bring the war to an early end, Bankhead spat out 'I hope they spill every drop of German blood there is. I hate them all! And I HATE YOU!' All he could say was 'I'm sorry about that, Tallulah.'"
it's well known that Bette Davis based Margot Channing on her in the film All About Eve ... she spent many years pissed about it in interviews. She was so witty. One of the great characters of the 20th century !
My daddy sat next to Tallulah Bankhead on a flight out of Huntsvillle, Alabama, probably the late 1950s He told me she was very chatty and called him darling.
Watch closely and you will see how most actresses copied her style . she was so much a woman of her time in many ways a true reflection of the wasp culture. Yet a woman a head of her time going against the repressive society that she lived in.
