- Rachel Nichols helped the Golden State Warriors surprise Matt Barnes on The Jump with his NBA championship ring from the team's 2017 title run after not bringing the ring home from the arena because Barnes felt like he didn't deserve it.

He was on that team. He played. He deserves that ring. He earned it.
He was also putting in work back when everybody thought the warriors weren't shyt. Him and Stephen Jackson. I understand how he feels but he truly deserves that ring because he helped lay the foundation for that team years ago before they started winning like that. You can't help injuries. I won't fault Matt for that.

He will get one, Does he deserve it? I would say yeah, we don't know the work he does in the background for the warriors, even helping them practice or getting klay back to shape back when they were on the G league is still a lot of help that eventually lead to the their championship.

He was really big in the regular season in helping the Warriors. People often forget his +/- is more positive than negative.

As a Warriors fan, Barnes from the "We Believe" era joining the dynasty and contributing to another championship was one of the greatest things for me.
He contributed both on the court and in the locker room. Dude deserves the ring.
Dog, this nearly brought a tear to my eye when we got him a ring. Felt like his ring is for all the "we believe" guys. "We believe" was my first experience watching playoff ball, and when we beat the Mavericks, "believe" me (lol pun intended), I was a warriors fan for LIFE.
He earned that ring for what he did as part of "we believe." The fact he got one with us in 2017 was poetic to me.
I feel like if you're on a team that wins a championship, you're a champion! I don't care if you played or not, you contributed to the team.
As a long time Bay Area hoops fan, I always appreciate Matt Barnes bringing us the we believe run and almost make the western final along with Baron Davis.

I was sitting front row at a warriors game back in the day and Matt Barnes was inbounding the basketball on a side out. I asked him in the middle of the game "You play any Slow Pitch Lately?" to my suprise , he replied "Nah, I need to though," My friend played slow pitch softball against Matty B out in Sacramento once. I didn't premeditate the quick convo, just freestyling off the top and he showed me love with the quick response. Memorable moment I'll never forget.

happy to see this, ive always loved and respected Matt after meeting him in vegas during an AAU tourney. him and ricky davis came over from practicing in the other gym and talked to me and my team.
