Walter Hawkins a voice unlike no other and the harmony that he and Edwin has was awesome..... RIP Bishop Walter Hawkins, my favorite singer of all times!!!!
I had always been a fan of the Hawkins Family since I was a teen. It is good to hear "anointed" gospel music in this day and time because it is the anointing that destroys the yoke. Bishop Walter Hawkins will be missed. I enjoyed him singing those high notes with the anointing. God bless!
I get the feeling that this mans death has really impacted the church. I don't know what will happen from here but there's great mourning right now and we really need God's comfort to help us get through this first stage of shock. Bishop Walter Hawkins, I am lost for words and overwhelmed with tears and sadness.
Perfect song to sing in front of Believers and unbelievers, they presented the Gospel in song form,an excellent way to take advantage of a once in a life opportunity to preach the Gospel to the heads of state.
People always sing about God (like he's dead or an urban legend ); He wants to sing to God (proclaiming that God is Alive NOW) making it personal and in the present tense.
God bless the president of that time to invite these two ministers they sang so wonderful if you listen to them you can hear God himself !!! praise God !!
The singer of today dont make music like this anymore. Its ok! but its not Walter, Edwin, Jame Cleveland, Andre C, T, Whitfield, The OG, Winan. Oh GOD how i miss there music they used to make. Someone PLEASE! bring back the good music some how.
Robert Dess me too....I miss that old school gospel. ..Hezakiah Walker, John P Kee, Timothy Wright, Milton Brunson, Chicago Mass, Florida Mass, Mississippi Mass, James Cleveland, the Hawkins brothers, and more "All is well...God is on the throne ...I came to tell you, all is well " I can't remember the Rev. who's choir sung this song
May the white house seek Jesus first before they make any decision 2021 We need you to guide us Lord. God bless the Hawkins Family Marvin Sapp and singers for blessings the white house with spiritual hymns let it ring forever in the white house🙏🏾🙌🌎💞
Loved hearing these classic Hawkins songs...that is Patrick Lundy and the Ministers of Music doing the background vocals (give them their propers too)!!!
Too bad this wasn't edited properly. The are two distinct songs..."Marvelous" written by Bishop Walter Hawkin and his personal testimony and "Oh Happy Day" that changed the trajectory of gospel music written by Edwin Hawkins. This should have been edited so that both songs stood alone and complete.
@Bishoptobe - you may have missed a word or two in there (perhaps). it was "I'd really love at this time to not sing a song to you about Him"...He says in essence, 'I want to sing this song to God'....making it personal. More like a prayer in song, giving thanks to Him for what He's done.
We should always celebrate the home going of a believer because all is not lost for what Jesus Christ did on the cross for us all. We must remember that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We as Christians, of course even on believers, will feel sad over the lost of life but God; the Father sits on the throne and He always has everything under control. Just let the Holy Spirit comfort you during anytime of bereavement. Stay blessed everyone!
Bush 43 and it was in celebration of Black Music Month which is June of every year. President Jimmy Carter initiated it and Bush 43 gave it wings to really take off
I believe he was saying to him the heavenly Father Wants me to tell you how wonderful Marvelous he is an also its going to be a Happy Day When the lord wash and wipe all of our tears away.

His death is unexpected, his life was incredible, his music was beyond anointed! To say he will be missed is an understatement!
