Although I've learned so much about interloper play from your and other TLD creators' videos where you all demonstrate so much game knowledge and skill, this series is my favorite because it's much more like my own attempts at interloper. Just poking around, seeing what happens, not making more than vague long-term plans, seeing how to get to the next day. I love it! More of this, please!

Agreed this is how I generally play the game.. how I have always played. I have 2 1000 day runs on interloper already and working on a road to 5k now.. but I enjoy watching the way u play this series for sure

I wouldn't mind if you do it as a kind of weekly series(as long as you don't burnout with this playthrough), I myself don't play Interloper so I enjoy watching you and one other TLD gamer.

Well this is the way I played almost a decade ago. I must say I had many "interesting" events happen, which is why I started uploading runs, but then started all the niche challenges
which tended to force me into inventing more exciting content. Sometimes TLD involves just carefully planning travel, and exploration, while tending to obvious needs for survival,
but that is sometimes less interesting than risk taking, and meta game focused runs. There are those who like to see players push the envelope, and those who just want to chill,
both methods have their merits, but TLD is more fun for me when I play without recording, and nowadays there is so much TLD content, that my runs are usually too boring to upload.

Yeah this is definitely shaping up to be my "chill" series, although I've cleaned out most of the food in the region so it depends on how good the income from fishing is.
Regardless, I'm leaning towards going straight to the far territories after ML. I think it will be neat to combine the simple earlygame playstyle with the threat of the unknown.

@@ArchimedesLP Just as a side note, I watched TurkeySteam, at level 3 fishing use a lure with a hook and line, and catch only 3 small fish in like 12 hours of fishing. I am not sure it lure type is the issue, the use of a tip up, or the lures are somehow nerfed, but in case you didn't see that, just thought I would pass that on. I have not really tested the lures for usefulness.

For me, "nonsense" in TLD means abusing game mechanics to defeat the game's intent. Like, pulling torches from the fire to use later, only starting fires with torches, scaring away wolves with dropping torch and aiming, stealing a wolf's kill with only a stone aim, extreme goating, beelining to known item spawns, cutting an animal into 1000 pieces to reach cooking lvl 5 in one go, starvation tactic, etc.
Bedroll for me is perfectly fine, a player is bound to find one sooner or later.
The way you play it is fine for me, you shouldn't make things intentionally harder, just free of exploits and the nonsense :)
As for what to do next, maybe do some fishing, craft some clothes and the go explore some less familiar region.

Good point. I'm not a fan of there being a guaranteed bedroll in ML but it would feel too artificial to forgo it once found. Even without the bedroll I could still make snow shelters so it's mostly a convenience item.
