Along with "Gimme All Your Lovin' " and "Sharp Dressed Man" , "Legs" was the beginning of ZZ Top's MTV ascent to the top of the 80's charts. Have to love the attitude of the ZZ Girls, taking over the "bad" situation, and making sure the good guys win. Love a happy ending.
One went on to become a member of the cast of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills".
@@george217 Good info, but not a show I care to watch.
I don't like this mix at all, you can hardly even hear Billy Gibbons guitar over the synth. This is not the mix that was on the radio back in the day. It sounds like a newer remaster that pushed the synth parts and buried the guitar.
I was about to write something similar. Ya beat me to it.
@@Orange6921 I agree, this sounds nothing like the original mix
My mom walked down the aisle to this song when she married my dad in 86. My maiden name is Leggans and my dad is 6'5, everyone always called him Leggs.
Cool story, Ellie
That is an AWESOME story! I love it! 😊
Brad and Lex don't reply to anyone, I'm sorry. They could care a less what's going on in anyone's life but their own.
@@DizJakeOG I don't expect a reply from them, I was just sharing a neat little tidbit story because of the song. If they reply or like it, that's awesome but if not, who cares?
@@DizJakeOG ever thought they have busy personal lives and busy filming/editing/uploading schedules? Maybe that’s why they can’t take time out to answer people one by one.
This is basically a Cinderella story in video form. A bit earlier in the video, that guy stepped on the female lead's hand, and one of the "Fairy Godmothers" from the Eliminator Car did the same to him. In the video, they punish the folks that are bad to her, and reward the ones who are good to her. While giving her a Full Makeover, and sending her off with her Prince Charming.
The epitome of 80's music videos.
Brad & Lex,you will love their "Got Me Under Pressure" and "Tube Snake Boogie"!!
I got a girl at the top of the hill, she won’t do it but her sister will …
and Burgerman!
Frank Beard is never talked about in this band. Everyone talks about Dusty and Billy, who are great, but Frank is so perfect in his meter and tasteful in his fills that he's simply overlooked. He is one of the greatest drummers in rock/blues, and no one talks about him!
I got to see them live a couple of times and the second show had 360 seating, so I bought cheap seats right behind Frank and I got to watch him "work" from about 50' away. Talk about being the backbone of a band! He was definitely the glue that pasted those songs together.
The waitress was getting treated like crap by everyone around her - so the girls came to her rescue to give her a makeover and her self confidence back. She stepped on his hand to show the guy how HE was treating the waitress. So they gave it right back to him - to teach him a lesson.
This was a bit of a morality play. I love it as much now as I did when I first heard it back in the 80s.
Love ZZTop.
Yeah, I’m surprised he missed that.
I always saw the ladies in the car as her fairy godmothers.
ZZ Top was one of a kind. This song will go down as one of the iconic songs of the 80's.
The great ZZ Top. Legends of course. There will never be another band like these guys. RIP to Dusty.
The mid 80’s their album has Gimme All Your Lovin, Sharp Dressed Man, Legs and Rough Boy. All great songs.
After years of selfless research I can confidently say it is possible to love every part of a woman. Except her opinion. Lol. Forgive me.
Thanks for taking one for the team.
I know everyone says if they had a time machine, they'd go back and get rid of Hitler.Personally,I'd go back to the first caveman who asked:"Honey, what do you think?" ,and I'd take him out. That guy screwed things up more than Hitler
hilarious
ZZ Top, the greatest trio ever in music hands down. Their beards and fuzzy pink guitars are so iconic my father digged them. As one of my biggest regrets is that when in high school, I had the chance to see them on their Eliminator Tour, but I was on call with the local ambulance, so I didn't go. As far as "body parts", they also did "Tush" and "Tube Snake Boogie".
You can discuss about the greatest Trio. I think it is RUSH.
ZZ Top is definitely one of the greatest trios in rock history, along with Rush, and Cream and the little known KING'S X.
@@neillenet291 That's right, but who are the best is personal taste i think. Jimi Hendrix Experience is also not so bad and there are some more.
@@theheepster yep the Jimi Hendrix experience was a great trio. The Police as well
Surely Bananarama...?
The spinning guitars never get old, I hate that they haven't don't that in years live
This one song absolutely encapsulates the entire early days of MTV!
Fun fact... The only member of ZZ Top who doesn't have a beard is named Frank Beard.
I always loved this car! I know they used it at least through the Eliminator album, when it was a spacecraft!
I watched them film this video. It was in a parking lot on the border of Arleta and Panorama City in the San Fernando valley. I was a teenager partying the whole time. As a young guy I really enjoyed all the hot girls getting in and out of that car. Great times, really fun reaction 👏👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
liar
In ZZ Top videos, the 'little guy' always wins. :-)
You should watch more of their live stuff. They're awesome live because the choreography is so clever and fun.
Billy always had great tone but with this album us guitarists fell in love with this tone. He never really revealed how he did it, mentioned the Rockman, something called the amp shack, but was always coy. As others noted this album was a monster.
@@stanflahaut1893 Yea he was king of pinch harmonics even back in the 70s. The end solo of LaGrange is pretty much one note pinch harmonics. And EVH copied a lot of what BG did including that descending trill thing. For the 80s though this tone was pretty dirty.
Billy has talked about how the production and sound of the Eliminator album was heavily influenced by………….wait for it……….DEPECHE MODE! Sounds crazy at first, but if you listen to a song like “Legs” with this in mind, you can kinda see where he’s coming from. He said he went to a Depeche Mode concert to see what all the “hype” was about, and was blown away by 2 things. One: their fans. How crazy and devoted they were and just how much they got into the show and performance. Two: how 4 little British dudes got such a unique, LOUD, badass, hypnotic sound out of basically keyboards. Said he went backstage after to meet DM, much to their surprise, and with that whole experience, he reshuffled how he was approaching the Eliminator album! When I first heard this story, it made me love DM and ZZ Top even more!
Brad stop playing naive in front of Lex! hahahaa
As an adult hearing all their lyrics, I’m kinda surprised my parents let us listen to this as kids in the 80’s & 90’s!
Parents never listened to the lyrics of the songs we were listening to. They only pretended to know anything about it when someone shouted "satanic."
This song is pretty tame compared to "Pearl Necklace".
@@MrVvulf tubesteak boogie
Check out "Everybody Does It In Hawaii" by Jimmie Rodgers - lyrics with innuendo go way back!
Our parents knew that it was just a song and lyrics were not gonna corrupt us. lol
R.I.P Dusty Hill.
These guys are the definition of cool and collected.
Rough Boy - album version with full outro
They were cool to see in concert!
I agree!
Loudest concert I've ever been to.
So jealous!
Very few bands have gotten away with 're-inventing' themselves. ZZTop was one. While I have nothing against the music on this album or the following efforts, it's more 'dance' music than the harder blues edged stuff they became famous doing. But watching pretty skirts kickin it on the dance floor makes one forget about such trivial matters.
ZZ Top is one deep, deep rabbit hole and I am so glad to see you two getting into them. They have songs going back so many years you will have tons to choose from. My suggestion for the next would be "La Grange". Absolute beast of a song
Pleased to announce that they already did! Here's the link!
ua-cam.com/video/DuVi_F9W8Ws/v-deo.html
One of the best 3 man bands ever.
Love ZZ Top and congratulations to you guys! Awesome news about your growing family....
The "Little Ol' Band From Texas" is one of our state's greatest exports! 🤟
The first time i heard this song was in WWE. This song was Stacy Keibler entrance theme song
For very good reason too, Stacy had/has some VERY long legs.
Kid Rock did the song for her.
I was clubbing in this time!! 😂❤️❤️✌️
The memories!! I've seen them a couple of times. Love these guys. Of course RIP Mr. Dusty Hill ❤️❤️❤️
I wish I could share a picture of me with ZZTop. Actually it was my friend's dressed for Halloween! 😂😆
Congratulations you two!
One of the greatest videos ever! The furry spinning guitars, the beautiful women (the brunette in the white outfit was my favorite), and of course that badass iconic car! I even had the ZZ keychain for a while, but it wasn't the most comfortable thing to have in a front pocket, if you know what I mean 😳
Don't want to fall on your keys with that in your pocket.
You guys...I loved your reaction...The type of music you just can't sit in a couch and not feel the beat. I saw both your facial expressions soften and really enjoy the video. Exactly my reaction, even now. ZZ Top will never die.
Just went to see ZZ TOP LAST SUNDAY IN SIMPSONVILLE SC IT WAS GREAT. MISS DUSTY RIP
Saw them in concert. They barely moved but the sound was lush and precise. Almost looked like not even playing. Jeez they sported full beards 40 years ago and guys wear them today
ZZ Top had the best songs and videos, very creative! Much love Brad & Lex! ✌️ ☮️ 🎼🎸🎵❤️🇱🇷🎶
Had to subscribe…love watching your reactions to metal. Much love for you two from Saskatchewan 🖖🏻🇨🇦🥰
FUN FACT : The drummer has just a mustache but his name is Frank BEARD. Weird
Saw ZZ Top in concert in the 70s. Great show.
This video is the female version of the boy makeover in “Sharp Dressed Man”. ✨
The strangest part of me watching this video again is that most women younger than me don’t realize that all those sexy legs in the video are wearing PANTYHOSE. I bet those actresses never imagined there’d be a day when any good girl (or bad girl) would dare to wear a dress with no hose. 😂 Anyway!
1. Brad, the man stepped on the girl’s hand first … near the beginning.
2. Congratulations on your lil cake. 💗💗💗
So many great songs from ZZ Top
Legtange- tush- rough boy.
I remember when MTV started . After a couple of hours the videos would repeat because there were only a few videos. MTV would go off the air at night and start back up in the morning. All music videos no shows. This ZZ TOP song was on the radio long before the video was on television.
Amazing sound they produced with Billy Gibbons on guitar, Dusty Hill on bass and Frank Beard on drums. And they've been together over 50 years!!
RIP Dusty Hill...🙏💔😢
Brad, in a way they did teleport to another era, they were the band playing at the town dance, in Back to the Future 3, love you guys, and congratulations on the future addition.
You two are friggin’ awesome!!! Great reaction!!
Nice video, that was filmed partly at our old shopping center in Panorama City, CA. Nice to see the place preserved in the video. It was a bog deal when ZZ Top came to town.
Back when this was on the radio all the time it was a ticket magnet when you were driving. It just made you want to drive fast while car dancing lol.
This is my all time favorite band lol I knew them before I could crawl
Ha ha another great reaction guys, those spinning fluffy guitars you better watch out lol!
These guys were so full of flash and bling, they brought Brauma bulls with them on tour and had them on the side of the stage, just because they could. Some of the coolest cats around, and nice as well. They would come into local famous Mexican dining restaurants and buy up half the tables, pay for everyone's meals who were seating in the other half, and treat the staff great with big tips at the end of the night. I think I still have a photo or two with some of the ZZ Top Girls who always partied with the guys.
Part of this song was on VH! Classic channel before they switched to MTV Classic. So nostalgic. Check out their song "Sleeping Bag" that features Heather Langenkamp from A Nightmare On Elm Street 1, 3, and Wes Craven's New Nightmare.
Best ZZ Top song, by a good mile.
If you haven't yet, I recommend ZZ Top - Rough Boy! I can see Lex saying how "chill while driving" it is.
Had this cassette in my truck in the 80s!!!!😜
🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶 Aww! Y'all just make me smile! Thank you for the reaction! P.L.U.R.R. from ATX!
The Texas Trio. 🔥
Kinda ZZ Top Rock N Roll take on Cinderella, great video and awesome TUNEEE!
Eliminator is one great album. The car a 34 Ford coupe is also named Eliminator. Billy Gibbon's still owns that car.
Definitely brings back some teenage summertime memories. Dang!
I am almost forgot about this song! This is going on my playlist!!
Best zztop tune ever
The Eliminator album was hit packed: Legs, Gimme All You Lovin’, Got Me Under Pressure, Sharpe Dressed Man, TV Dinners
Love ZZTop🤘
My sister & I would sit &!wait for this video to site on MTV in it’s prolific days. My favorite was the lady in all white, & my sister’s fav was the one in the red top.
The extended mix is even better !!!
Loved zz top. That car was bad ass aswell.
Kid Rock did a cover of "Legs" for the WWF Forceable Entry CD and it was WWF Diva Stacy Keibler's entrance music.
You guys should react to more ZZ Top…
"Gimme All Your Lovin'", "I Gotsta Get Paid", "Rough Boy", "Pearl Necklace", "Got Me Under Pressure", "Heard it on the X", "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide", "Tube Snake Boogie", "My Head's In Mississippi", "Francine", "I Thank You", "Blue Jean Blues"
🎸🤘
A lot of great hits from this 'ol Texas band.
SOOOO many dirty jokes in their song titles (and lyrics, for that matter).
They also had a song about "Tush" another body part. lol.
Lex’s laugh. Every time.
Frank Beard , the beardless one. Love it. Great band(understatement).
@2:56 ive laughed at myself thinking a girl had nice knees lol
There were few bands that had aspecial following on MTV. It was a different time.
Great videos. Some of the best ever.
ZZZ Tops videos?
Yes.
This Song Is My Lifelong Modo & Strut I’m 45 & Still Crushing It!!
Fun fact: the one member of the band without a beard is named Frank Beard, go figure
15 friends and I went and saw them in concert together and we drank, smoked and partied like it was 1999. Could have been... Eliminator tour with an awesome laser show
I was lucky to see ZZ Top on the Eliminator Tour....they were fantastic, and Sammy Hagar opened for them
Saw the Afterburner tour 2x... when laser shows were new!
ZZ Top did a series of videos where the band appears like Guardian Angels guiding and helping the "underdog" in the stories being told in the video, often sending help in the form of the Eliminator car loaded with those Valkyrie-like women (often times they function like Fairy Godmothers from the old stories, helping the underdog with a make-over and attitude adjustment) ... while the band just appears like spirits or ghosts ... occasionally just to hand over the keys of the car ... but sometimes they'll perform other magics to help the hero/underdog
This was a recurring theme in many of their videos throughout the 80's and 90's
Burnt up my cassette player in my car in 1984 at the ripe old age of 19 playing ZZ TOP Eliminator and Van Halen's 1984 cassettes.
Lots of great ZZ Top songs to react to. R.I.P. BILLY.
ZZ Top had some great videos with this theme...
Still sounds as good as ever 👌
Best 3 peace band in Texas!!! Greatness
Memories
Yes, the boys are just that damn cool! BTW, that's Billy's car.
Growing up listening to ROCK Music I went to see
Z Z TOP In the 90's The Red car called Eliminator
And was designed by the
Boyd Coddington R I P
I believe they were going for "That Mysterious Little Band From Texas"
Every guy was hoping to get the ZZ Key!!!
Great 80s video!
with choreography by Paula Abdul, getting the guys from ZZ Top to be able to move a bit with their signature coolness and humor.
Their song "Pearl Necklace" is a good one 😜
Sharp dressed man is a great song
Texas GROOVE!
Lex, I've now watched way too many of your videos. Girl, you are the smartest commenter on UA-cam. Sharp, insightful, eloquent, emotionally intelligent and you have superior taste. I hope you have a daughter just like you. Rock on.
The three greatest Beards of Rock!
If you watch it again the dude steps on her hand. Lol
Two of the "Eliminator" ladies were Playboy Playmates and the other a Playboy model. One of the Playmates went on to become one of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills".
