To be honest this looks way better, and I think it will be even more useful upgrades in regulations in future. Only thing that annoys me is that cars are slower in corners. Then why do we use active aerodynamic parts? Racing drivers loves corners, G forces etc. What I will do: Use active aero to be faster on straights and reduce dirty air by additional 20-25%. That will bring hard racing in every single race even in Monaco. Make also tires last longer - better racing, more pushing and more fun for everyone. Max didn't say without reason that future regulations are bad, and that he is not happy about that.
dirty air only becomes a problem in corners. Having a giant wing for corners wil exacerbate the issue. "Dirty Air" is fantastic for slipstreams on the straight, problems comes when you need strong aero to keep up with the leading car and you have no air to work with. That's why cars that rely on mechanical grip can follow closely, there's no aero to lose
If we want that 08 feels they need to bring back the V8, and have them be hybrid with Natrual Aspiration engine and Electric engine working together, but haveing that F1 sound again. Thata would also make the cars lighter and faster.
True, gladly they are getting rid of that component, but also the Turbo doesn't help. With the V8 the turbo won't be necessary and they can extract the same or more power like before, that lowers the cost, which is a burden that F1 is so adamant about, reduces the weight, that allows for the cars to become slightly smaller, which helps with packaging that PU inside a smaller frame. And finally, the pure F1 sound is back. Turbos gotta go.
I always wonder why not use the current regulations but reduce the size of the cars. 2 seconds off today's cars??? that's complete BS. Hell, this years cars have set qualifying laps of over 2s faster than last year's. ultimately, these cars will have MUCH less cornering ability, and they will use significantly less fuel, and only have full power for just 24s of each lap. I'd bet EVERYTHING that it won't be JUST 2 seconds off... mid-race it'll be even worst as there simply isn't enough energy recouperation and cars will have to downshift on the straights to charge the batteries.
I was waiting for this one 😅 also, first 🎉 Edit: about the engine, i reaaally believe they should reduce the amount of electrical dependancy or offer more energy recovery
All seems very gimmicky. There's no need for active aero, especially when teams already can design flex that into their wings. Hybrid, is fine but 50/50 is almost FormE... will the new engine be even quieter than the now v6? Still miss the v8 and v10 sound. Rather see smaller, lighter, louder cars and if they're slower then so be it.
If you can use drs everywhere then why have it in the first place? Oh yeah, trying to force electric power, forgot about that, also, why forcing electric ? Oh yeah no one knows
Again i don't believe any of the teams. If its slower, the teams will make them so much faster. Remember these current regs was very slow no they are like 4 seconds faster. Let the team compete in developing cars again.
Ditch the hybrid 😭 We get it, synthetic fuels are expensive for the FIA and F1. So why don't they just increase the fuel tank to hold 200liters and use E85 instead. Huhu
FIA has nothing learned. In 2010th years the cars looked so damned ugly with their small wheels. And now they reduce size again. Comon, in this design the car looks like a Formula school car.... Hey, this should be top level of Motorsport and an overregulated Kindergarten !!
I know it's been said before but... Want to reduce weight ? Drop the hybrid and go biofuel... EV's are dying it's time for the next technology being e-fuel
EVs are not dying, where did you get that from? Biofuels are often more polluting than regular gassoline, once you factor in the energy required for production and the land use. They are also ridiculously expensive, and can be damaging to engines. A hybrid system makes the most sense for F1 right now.
@playyourturntodieatvgperson Where did I get that from ? Ehm idk mate how about sales numbers, brands rethinking their EV only strategy ? Peoples opinions,...
This is just more BS. Still not capable of meeting the new lighter minimum weight. They are Pigs on rollerskates. Not enough regeneration capacity STILL. Active aero at both ends will still kill Someone. Still causes keeping the revs up constantly, such as downshifting mid-corner. The much larger diffusers still only produce 30% of the current downforce levels. Its still a total piece of $*it that has to implement front brake regeneration in order to still be like a slightly downsized W11 that is still WAY too heavy. The new powertrains are just plain and simply a bad idea. Even if They use Musks graphene battery technology, the Spirit of F1 has been lost. Might as well add circle track nerf bars to them now because its going to be like open wheel NASCAR that kills people when the dual active aero reacts poorly to being punted by "It was just a racing incident". This is garbage.
The show car won't resemble any real car. The 22 one was also oversimplified and smooth, and Ferrari came out of the gates with the bathtub sidepods. The show car shows a car within the regs, not the ideal car the teams find within those regs. Beyond basic differences like pushrod vs pullrod suspension, we can already tell aero gargoyles will be coming back since they have relatively developed barge boards on the show car. Also stationary wheel covers like 2009 would be SICK. It looks like it's gonna be curly front wings like the cars Alonso won his titles in, and crazy bargeboards like 17-21

I was waiting for this one 😅 also, first 🎉
Edit: about the engine, i reaaally believe they should reduce the amount of electrical dependancy or offer more energy recovery
100%
More recovery would be nice
yeah, smaller batteries and front axel energy recovery would just be better in almost every regard.
Didnt drivers say active areo is dangerous if it getz stuck open on a corner ?
That is a concern some people have, but the drivers are not engineers.
Well you could say the same thing for DRS, and I dont remember the last time it failed
the wings are so 2005
All seems very gimmicky. There's no need for active aero, especially when teams already can design flex that into their wings.
Hybrid, is fine but 50/50 is almost FormE... will the new engine be even quieter than the now v6? Still miss the v8 and v10 sound.
Rather see smaller, lighter, louder cars and if they're slower then so be it.
idk maybe it's just me but these new cars just seem to be a hodegpodeg of current and past regulations
It looks more like an F1 car thankfully
If only they weren’t hybrid engines
But 50/50 power split remains bruh.
Will changes start from next 2025?
2026. 2025 is still 2022 regs
I don't care if they are faster, I want to see difficult to drive cars that separate the men from the boys.
If you can use drs everywhere then why have it in the first place? Oh yeah, trying to force electric power, forgot about that, also, why forcing electric ? Oh yeah no one knows
Make 1998 great again... It will suck 😢
i had predicted 70k by End of year in april!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I
Hope :) ❤️❤️
They Raise the Engine Litres, Or ELSE..
To much limits which prevent innovation
Again i don't believe any of the teams. If its slower, the teams will make them so much faster. Remember these current regs was very slow no they are like 4 seconds faster. Let the team compete in developing cars again.
Ditch the hybrid 😭
We get it, synthetic fuels are expensive for the FIA and F1. So why don't they just increase the fuel tank to hold 200liters and use E85 instead. Huhu
And no one cares about the addition of loud exhaust sound.
I do :)
FIA has nothing learned. In 2010th years the cars looked so damned ugly with their small wheels. And now they reduce size again. Comon, in this design the car looks like a Formula school car.... Hey, this should be top level of Motorsport and an overregulated Kindergarten !!
who told you 2026 cars are much faster than current ones?
✌🏼
F1 can't do anything right. Including designing Their way out of a wet paper bag.
Aaldert
I know it's a life saver but the halo is ugly. Now with the smaller car it's more obvious.
Halo isnt inherintely ugly at all. Old cars look worse without halo tbh
Looks like an f2 car... 👎
dont like those new regs. i prefer the 2022 car. Why throwin away the ground effect ? make no sense.
