Hanky Panky, Pankow's trombone solo. that moving bass line in it, beautiful.

There is a Russian cover band "Leonid & Friends" which does excellent covers of many Chicago songs.

Laudir de Olivera, RIP, percussionist from Brazil, contributed to songs on Chicago VI and became an official member of the band Chicago with this VIIth album. He added lots of great percussion for at least a few albums and now has a tinge of UA-cam reaction legacy by residing in the back of your head while listening to Hanky Panky/Lifesaver.

This whole album Chicago VII is phenomenal....but you have to listen to it in order with a nice set of headphones....and crank it. Check out "Song of the Evergreens"

My theory is, the real Robert Lamm would have included “Italian From New York” 🎸🎸🎸 in the medley. But I could be wrong.

This band was so tight and creative. Keep up the good work. Try Introduction from the 1st album. It has everything.

So glad you're keeping the Chicago train going. Don't forget to check out some cuts from Chicago IV live at Carnegie Hall

Robert Lamm is the name of the keyboard player and one of the singers for Chicago. I wonder if it's the same guy or a Chicago fan using his name.

Right? They've also got some requests from Jimmy Guercio. Seems a little suspect. But if it's legit, that pretty fkn cool.

These tunes just make me want to find my copy of Robert Lamm's solo album. I can imagine myself sitting in the back of a club with a drink in hand, enjoying them performing this LIVE.

This song brought back a memory from high school. I complained to my gf that I had no money to take her out and then this album dropped in stores. I ran right out and bought it. She was not pleased! haha

    Compositional nuance intersects groove .
This Terry Kath driven iteration understood complexity , without sacrificing relevance .

Around Chicago VI they added a session player for percussion, Brazilian Laudir de Oliveira. He became a full-time member of Chicago after this album Chicago VII.
Chicago has had a number of personnel changes through the years. They were intact until after Chicago XI when guitar player Terry Kath accidentally killed himself playing with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and shot himself in the head. In later years founding bass player Peter Cetera left for a solo career and drummer Danny Seraphine was fired. Percussion player Laudir also left the band. Laudir passed away a couple of years ago.

So tragic regarding Terry. Thanks for all the info; and thanks for watching!

I don't know if you're aware of it or not, but Robert Lamm, if that was indeed the true name of your patron who suggested this song is the original keyboardist and singer from Chicago and is the author and lead vocalist on this tune.
