AOI automatic test Wtf. AOI is automatic optical inspection. not a test also there was one girl placing 2 boards together that is not acceptable in a production line.

its so interesting to watch how carefully everyone hides notes, or numeric information from the camera.. Looks like employees got very good training of exactly what to do when a camera is present. Paper notes/documents are hidden for the most part. Calculator turn away, light turned off in the machine. Heh.
the cameraman is running on way too much caffeine or ,...something. The most unoriginal questions, no structure to this at all. Just this guy with his new floating frame flying around the assembly floor. Weird,...!

Sam Shaw lol no xD I didn't even think of that. I just love the machines! They use technological equipment that most countries don't have. I also like to build stuff from parts and especially imagine how many options a designer can have there!
These type of assembly lines are in most countries. Just search SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Jobs in your area. I've been in this industry since 1985

Sooo many problems with this production line. 1) Why do they have an SMT Line in a clean room. For a "clean room" it sure is dirty in there. This clean room is for show only. 2) The manager and translator don't have hoods on but the assemblers do? 3) For an Automated SMT Line, they are handling the boards too much. 4) Line Manager says AOI machine is testing the board. AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) doesn't test the board. 5) In the 2nd SMT Line, Why is the lady inspecting the paste after printing, printers do that automatically nowadays. 6) People inspecting the boards AFTER the AOI, lol 7) Cameraman asks if the Router (Cutting machine) is dangerous, stick you hand in there and see!. 8) Cameraman is annoying, can I punch him in the throat?
Which printers are able to inspect paste on a PCB? At my assembly lines, we have to inspect each board manually to make sure each pad has enough paste.
Is there a vacancy for a SMT technician in the United States? I have 13 years of experience in the smt area and I intend to work in this area in the United States. I have a major in Production Engineering. Anybody know ?
if you have a major in production engineering and want a technician job, than that means only 2 things, either you are incompetent(not good enough for engineer) or sale yourself for little money and you have 13 years of experience in smt lines as what? In 13 years one assumes that you became an engineer

Apparently these people don't really follow "clean room" protocol, hair nets that actually cover ALL of the head should be the standard. Although, I do like the tiny little clown hat on the one guy, very funny!!!

At my company, we work without gloves on PCBs that have an IPC class rating of 1 or 2. Class 3 requires gloves. The assembly they are working on in this video appears to have a class 2 rating; hence, no gloves necessary.
+Chip Guy Vids seems like the whole room is ESD proof from the floor and the ESD free overall, My only 2 complaints would be, one actually held 2 PCB together which is NoNo as they can scratch each other and the second in a tour like this you really want to throw a lot of information out, a lot of the time the guy enthusiastically ask something only to be given a 2 word answer.
@@Shoshk3 It looks pretty good to me as well. The PCB to PCB board handling is a huge no no for sure. I can only imagine how much pad/track damage they get because of poor board handling.
You can see the "happiness" on the workers' faces ...

very cool tour, thanks for making this video.
They didn't know nothing about SMT :D
It just works, and it's enough :D
This is the management
anything,not nothing. You are welcome.
this is totally a geeked out factory. supper advance. thank you for the tour.

Sorry to hear that, where were you working?
No esd gloves? Racks on the floor?
Why wearing hear protection on top of your head while your hair is flipping all over the breeze ...
AOI automatic test Wtf.
AOI is automatic optical inspection. not a test
also there was one girl placing 2 boards together that is not acceptable in a production line.
thats what i was saying. those smt parts get knocked off like that
Yeah, I guess they need a better interpreter.
Yr number plz
It suck's this process
maybe its topside only have components so thats maybe girl places together the pcb into a magazine
look at 2:08, in view of located inside this ESD protected areas, we actually not allow directly touch the PCBA without wearing the wrist strap except wearing antistatic gloves.
You know they cut corners, like everywhere when the owner wants them to do. And also the customer always asks for cheaper invoice.
ever heard of an ESD shoes?
Cool
thx for video
Genial 👍
Thx for video..im your big fan :)

So many incorfomities vs IPC, ESD, and other standards, and the factory needs really a lean task force
At 2:50 Tour leader also confusing the visitor when AOI is inspection they say testing, so he is asking what is it testing.
as an operator I heard an SPI go off and immediately thought to check behind me
I see that their machines don't go down every 5 seconds or misplacing parts. Unlike my job!

Believe it or not, many might call me crazy but I would like to work there! (Note: Only if they pay well) :-)
I believe you.
i think you want to work there is because there are a lot of young Chinese girls works in there!

I am technician in the process, know quite Fuji equipment.
I am taking about ESD awareness & process Introduction..
Iam also warking in smt love from india
So very nice sir
Amazing throughput...In 5 years all these workers will be probably replaced by robbots I guess...
These SMT machines have been around since the 1980s. Nobody has been replaced by the equipment.
It is possible, I would say not that fast tho. And also not all of them, I guess, we need the operator.
no esd gloves? Hair not tidy.wtf.Smock not fully zipped. no wonder their product life ends superfast

it is probably not for cleanliness rather than ESD reduction.

That is SMD material. No ESD gloves? Everyone hand PCBA without gloves. Not good.
It's not required unless the manufacturer specifies this as a requirement. IPC-A-610 specifically says gloves are not a requirement.
