Sensational upgrade of Vance. You certainly gave this ‘new’ conversion a lot of thought and planning and it has really paid off. From the extra space you have created to the quality of the ‘modern’ look build, you have done a fabulous job! Loved also the explanations of WHY you made certain changes and then the benefits the changes have made for you! Well done.....love it!!!
Well done with optimising your limited space! I've watched hundreds of van life videos, and these days sometimes I'll get one or maybe two tips, but I've written down SEVEN from your rebuild. Thanks so much for sharing!! Good value.
Defenitely the best mini van layout i have ever found on youtube not only easthetically pleasing but very functional 💕 you've outdone micro camper, and maybe if i would have a tiny van i would love to incorporate most of your design and layout and add some family camper touch ups hoping to fit at least 3 human in a tiny van 😄, coz tiny campervan are the best its easy to park anytime anywhere specially when your doing stealth camping i guess 💕
That's an awesome job achieved under far less than desirable circumstances. It's a testament to your ingenuity and tenacity. Congratulations. Hope you both have a wonderful and memorable Festive Season, take care, and all the very best for your adventures in the New Year, Cheers.
Love it...well worth the rebuild effort. I really like how solid it all is, particularly the kitchen slide. Love the video too, you guys are awesome....and inspiring :)
@@KendallandGlenn did you have to treat under the stove for heat at all? In the middle of building my slide out kitchen and just wanted to make sure before. Thanks
Hey Kendall hey Glenn. This is buy far the best van build for a t3 I think. I am currently restoring my t3 and soon I will do the interior. I‘ve searched so much for layout inspiration and I guess its over now. Might change some bits and peaces but overall I think it’s just fantastic. Thanks for the inspiration🎉
Finally van done up by Aussie! So many US and UK videos on UA-cam and not many from Down under. Great work! I hope you are still travelling in your van. New subscribe from Sydney!
I recently got a T3 myself as a first car, got some nice paint and custom seats, new transmission, shocks, etc. the one problem. I have no one to share it with😭
Hey quick question - when it rains - do you keep the pop-top roof up or do you keep it down? - I am getting a 1985 pop-top Hiace - was just concerned about mould or leaks etc - Like the idea of being able to keep the roof up and not getting to squishy - thanks for your time
We leave it up! It's basically the same canvas as a swag so it's waterproof. Obviously some things like wear and tear can lead to leaks but that's just up to luck :)
Hi Guys, I just found you today. I love you bus, especially the pull out kitchen. This is an incredible build. Look forward to seeing more. Debbie from Alabama.
Hi Kendall and Glenn: I just discovered your UA-cam channel and I'm very happy I found you! Your rebuild of 'Vance' is absolutely brilliant! Wonderful use of space and the finishes look great. Well done......Wishing you both safe and enjoyable travels.
I'm gutting my Nissan Urvan LWB '83...this set up is really similar to what I have but streamlined. I like the stands in the pop top too. Mine has some horrible hand made ones...these look good. I'm putting my new Giant 140ah in today...wish I had of thought about the slimline...doh! Thanks for the inspo...will be incorporating some of your tips.:-)
Love the renovations you did for your Van! You’ve got a great set up. Kendall, would you do a wardrobe tour? What I’ve seen you wear on Insta seems to be mostly sustainably focused Australian brands and I’m really interested. You have lovely taste 😊
Slick fitout team ,you might want to look into having your gas bottle in a sealed enclosure vented to the out side lpg gas is heavier that air and if you have a leak it fills the lower van and any spark or electrical fuse going it will put you into orbit also insurance won’t touch you, have a van mob look at it and get a gas certificate, not trying to bum you out but shit happens and it’s not pretty.keep up the great vids cheers🌊🌊
Thanks so much Darren. Yeah it’s definitely been a point of research for us and very much appreciate your concern. We have safety seals and dials for the gas cylinder, plus completely shut off and disconnect if not in use. Plus we use a tiny cylinder and just can’t rationalise cutting a giant hole in the side of Vance and fitting a whole gas set up in it. Really appreciate your comment but for the time being we are going to stick with what we’ve got. Definitely food for thought though! Thanks so much 😊
Hey this is the best I’ve seen so far!! I’m doing a build this week and this is exactly what I want to make. Any chance you could share the kitchen slide design with me please?

Looks awesome. Only thing is I would store the gas for the stove on the outside of the van. Not sure what you’re using, here in Canada it’s usually propane Safety first.
Thanks for the great ideas especially the kitchenet. My T2 has just been rebuilt completely and is waiting for the etching primer to go on. As regards your central table may I suggest a safe, that can take your drone, camera, wallet etc., for your beach trips, is welded underneath it? By the way, where is your loo?
Thanks Jessica! The awning has a track on the side of the pop top. We have poles that slide under the bed, and the canvas rolls up and is stored inside. The brand is platinum trimming on the gold coast and they make excellent awnings!
Wow ~ interesting and very cool. I would have loved doing something like that in my younger days. Thanks for sharing! And he's adorable BTW. haha Peace

Thank you! If it rains we just make things that don’t need to be heated up, like salads, wraps, etc. We also have a smaller burner stove to use inside just incase :)
I’m planning to live in a Volkswagen T1 as a camper van once I turn 18! Do you think it’s a good idea? And I would also like to know what are some tips to sleeping in like cities/sketchy places, Perhaps like a safety lock and a see through dark blind..one side you can see the outside a bit but in black color but from the outside you see nothing.
Thanks Mac. Over the almost 3 years of travelling we didn't have much of an issue really. We park tactfully, and also have a single burner stove inside for those terribly windy days :)

By far the best van I've seen so far dudes. You've utilised the space you have so spot on

Just bought a 91 Hi Ace van that I am going to convert into a camper. Your video has provided me with a lot of inspiration. Cheers.
Great build. Especially getting the bed lifted from the engine bed. Getting air circulation is so key. But you know that already 😃
This build is gorgeous!! Loads of awesome inspiration!!
The kitchenette is great. I plan to do something similar and will borrow your permanent stove bit.

I love the roll-out kitchen but I can't imagine not being able to stand in front of the sink. I'd imagine dishes would cause a back ache.
