My baby is twelve years old now but she came to us when she was just two weeks old. I had no idea on how to care for her but thankfully my dad had grown up with lots of pets and was able to help me with her care. Nursing her took my whole summer before starting high school but I’m so glad I did it. Also I didn’t have a heating source for her so I would lay her on my chest and put a blanket over her , it was definitely hot for me but she loved it. To this day she will still lay on my chest sometimes , it’s the cutest thing ever to me. lol

When you are petting a cat, you hear a rumbling sound coming from its throat. It is said that this sound is originally made by a mother cat and her kittens to communicate with each other. As adult cats become more relaxed, the rumbling sound they make is thought to have a soothing effect on people. This rumbling sound is a low frequency of almost 25 Hz, and it is said that sounds in the range of 20 to 25 Hz affect the parasympathetic nervous system and are effective in restoring a tired body. Listening to low frequencies also releases serotonin, which gives you a euphoric feeling, making it even more soothing. This is the reason why we feel so happy when we listen to the sound of a cat's throat rumbling.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost one of the cats I help take care of a few weeks ago. It is heartbreaking. The only thing that gives me some comfort is that she is resting now and she will always be with me in memory.

@@jagoldenpyrenees491 ... I have not seen puppies do the ear wiggle when nursing, but it makes sense :) There is just something about the incredible innocence of such a young creature. Be it human, dog, cat, cow, sheep or pretty much anything that has less than 6 legs.... lol, has that look of wonder and typically fearless "hey, let's play" thing going on. I don't know what we would do without the opportunity to share our world with little fuzzy creatures that sleep on our lap
@@NinjaKittyBonks They don't wiggle their ears when nursing like kittens but when their ear canals first open and they can finally hear you talking to them. They sort of quiver; it's one of my absolute favorite parts of raising puppies 💓

Looks like were quibbling over quivering... lol :) There is just something about that innocence and then entrusting oneself with such honor as doing right by such a vulnerable little creature. To think that two species so different as a dog / cat / human can find such a bond and have absolute trust is truly a gift

I love your videos. I volunteer at a cat shelter. We have a lady who fosters the bottle babies and she sometimes brings them with her for their feedings. I got to help one. She adopted that baby. Foster fail but cute kittu.

could you do a video on how to convince your parents to let you foster? ive been trying since 2020 in quarantine :( ive read your book and done a lot of research and i feel ready. my parents dont like cats which is why i cant foster :( love your work and videos!!!! i hope Fergie is doing well!!!💞
you should sit down with them and tell them that fostering is temporary and that you want to learn more about responsibility and it would only take your room to foster kittens :) worked with my parents that way, they didn't fully agree but they said do whatever you want just don't let us see or hear them
Im sure that there are lots of videos of how to convince your parents. i think it would be difficult because they don't like cats but hey, i convinced my mum to let me have a dog so im sure you can do it too!

Oh my god!! Thank you for creating this video 🙏 I have a 9 day old kitten that was abandoned by mom and struggling to feed her. I felt so defeated after loosing 3 kittens already. I definitely felt guilty that I could of cause their passing 😢 1 kitty is all I have and I am determined to keep this baby girl healthy.. I’ve taken her to vet already and have another appointment early march… Again THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I've only ever fostered adult cats but I'm learning as much as I can from your book and videos to foster kittens once my current foster "graduates". So many kittens are scheduled for euthanasia in NorCal because the shelters don't have resources or volunteers to bottle feed overnight or treat URIs. I feel so helpless and I want to do my part to help.

i have not fully watched the video.. but thank you for this tut! my 1 week old kitten i'll call dot we noticed he was not eating from his mother, we also noticed his weight was decreasing by alot everyday. so my mom bought some kitten milk thingy and she tryed to feed him but for her he didn't eat, so she left today for work so me, my dad, and my sibling was left alone to try and help him! as i said dot isn't a rescue cat, but his mother is, so thx for the tut!

Please help.. I found a kitten, yesterday, it looks to be about 3 wks old. He won't suckle the bottle and is only taking about 2to3 ml of milk every 2 hours via syringe, and he has not peed or pooped since I had him since 10 am yesterday morning.
Is the kitten okay?

Hannah….I’ve got a kitten who sucks in my earlobe. Like I’m mama kitty. He purrs and purrs. Just latches on the very bottom of earlobe.
I read about it and yes he had to be rescued ….. he had upper respiratory infection. Feral mama. He was the runt. He’s still super tiny. I bottle fed him for a month. He didn’t want to try wet food after that and I hand fed him til he got the hang of it.
He’s all black…the size of a two month old…..finally. A hot mess. He’s been seeing vet for infection and is much better.
His name is Hamilton aka Hammy. His brothers and sisters were all adopted. I certainly didn’t need another cat…but one that nurses on me..I just can’t give up.
Have you ever had a kitten that does this? It’s SO sweet. I don’t mind one bit. He falls asleep…like a coma. And my ear is covered with slime!

It’s 11 pm and all the shops were closing and traffic was clear. I was just out door dashing, and saw a kitten on the side of the road. I didn’t see the mother anywhere, and it was in a busy part of the city. So I couldn’t just leave the kitten there alone. Your video has helped me learn how to take care of him and I truly just want to thank you for your wisdom in Jesus Christ name

I was hoping you could show me a video you’ve made on How to Take care of pregnant strays! A coworker found a cat near her home and she noticed it was hungry and no one in the neighborhood had claimed it. I came by and got it as I have a second room and space to foster. I came to realize after a flea removal bath, that her stomach felt distended, her nipples pink, some engorged, and her ferocious appetite that she was in fact a she and possibly pregnant. Vet appt isn’t until a couple weeks because they’re all backed up. But I’m assuming she’s like 5weeks or so. So idk what to do. I’m afraid she’ll have them before she sees the vet.
