Mike, did I miss an episode? Did you decide against the dump truck?
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans Mike I see your into telegram again 👀 . Check out my comment on vid.
My house was built in 1836 in Michigan. Back then they cut the logs, and soaked them in the nearby lake for a year while the foundation was being dug and built. The water would help to draw the sap out of the wood and when it got milled the boards would not warp.
I'm sure it being virgin timber probably helped a touch 🤔🤔🤔
Im very Impressed with Levi he is a great worker . He stays busy
I love this show it inspires me to get out doors and work . I m always working any ways but sometimes I just need to do what I lovealso
That is awesome get motivated that way. So much stuff to get done so much fun if you can do it physically
Kudos to the music director. Ray
Heck yeah the music is much much much better Must be a good day to Dance! Yahoo
Thank you, Mike, for all you do. You do things that the most of us can only think of, which is why you are so great to watch. All the best to you and yours!
More red oak and limestone keeps Mike happy. Enjoy your fast pace production and music👍👍👍
I like the mixture of saw logs and firewood logs. With your setup weather is out of the equation. No rain.. split and stack. Rainy days…… make sawdust! But no matter what always busy! Way to go Mike!
With all the kindling in the bunker you could bring down your bundle machine and throw a bundle on each of your totes as a bonus for your good customers. Love the channel 👍🏻
I know you have a good firewood business going. Around here, there are a lot of road side firewood stands. The bundles are made up of about 50% slab wood, the rest good splits. I see you burn most of your slab wood. Have you checked to see if someone locally wanted to take that off your hands as is? They could do their own loading and hauling. Something to consider.
I would take every bit of that slab wood if I lived closer, but Oklahoma is a long ways away!
@@joehajek5576 Just bring a real big truck and make it worth while
Most of his slabs are pine and less desirable as firewood. He does make firewood from large enough hardwood slabs, on occasion.
That pine makes great campfire wood and a pine hardwood mix makes those campers mighty happy 😁. Plus the pine drys faster and is ready to bundle. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing with us, Mike.
You load it ,less liabilities.
Mike my husband and I love your videos, with the latest purchase of wood from Adler we’ve come to the conclusion that wood is your “crack” 😂.
But seriously we love your videos and we’re looking forward to the historical videos you will be posting, we are both history buffs and love the revolutionary war and civil war history.
Glad things are moving forward, just wanted to thanks for the great context. Just wanted to let you know, I check every time I watch, but had to subscribe again today. This is now 3 times in the last two months.
Hey mike. Just some advice. Make yourself a few 8” boards for those times when you only need a couple inches to finish a wall. It’s a lot nicer than putting a 2” filler in.
Happy Birthday Hunter, God bless all
Always good to have material on hand to keep the mill busy (beats the alternative - idle mill). Bill sure did a good job stacking those red oak logs. Every driver should be as tidy as he is.
Great music. You are a fantastic music man!
GOOOOOOOOD
MAAAAAAAAWNIN EVERYONE!!!…still in Vegas & heading to the Grand Canyon today….Nice load of wood poles Mike. 🤑🤑🤑🤑
Catch yinz on the next one
Have a day
HELLOOOO Hunter 😊
Really like your show and never get tired of watching you operate your equipment. I like your music choices and wish you would identify the musician in the footnotes.
Good morning Morgan’s. Enjoy your channel. And yes you can never have enough wood for making firewood. Have a great weekend.
I added a BW hitch to my F150 after seeing it on yours. Amazing build quality on those. Thanks for all you do and share. Take care and have a day.
Yea they are really nice
👍👍👍👍👍👌Very productive day in many ways, as well as promoting relationships with your suppliers and new customers!!
Great music Mike, busy wood yard
Good Morning Morgan Family 🌞- Have a Great and Blessed Day 🤠
Morning Mike,
Up on seeing the title of your video there was absolutely no doubt in my mind what you were buying. I noticed Eva with her helmet on I'm assuming she was going out to test the speed limits on the new highway.
There was no doubt in my mind that as soon as you started cutting lumber Levi would come over to help. That last nice pine was the way to make hay when the sun was shining. I'm sure you'll be getting more high end customers in that subdivision. Good video.
It's so refreshing to watch these video's as it takes my mind off of the mainstream news fiasco's. Another load of lumber is never a bad thing, this year has been probably the most lumber I've seen in the woodyard. I'm thinking you probably have enough pine boards to do the cabin? Have a great weekend :)
Just an observation. You might try adjusting the angle of the rack at the end of the big conveyor. It looks like if it was flatter, it might divert more of the debris down the tray. You might have to make some kind of extension to get the debris on the other side of the wall.
Got a little jingle in your pocket from the firewood delivery. Time to go buy some precious metals. Stay safe everybody
Machinery fund....
I think I deleted those two messages. I hope you all are doing okay. I hope you don’t retire from you tube channel .My husband and I enjoy watching you and your family.Lots of other people enjoy your you tube shows too.Prayers everything is good there and for your foot to get well.🙏
Don't blame you ine bit for purchasing another load of logs. Just don't do like Nathan and let them lay there for so long you forget how long, then load one up to discover it's rotten. Rotten logs on his "Sawmill Empire" he calls it. No, like you said, that's money in the bank!! So happy your kiln is coming. The missing link. That will make your set up complete. Kudos on that!! Oh, happy days!!! Great video today, thank you.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲
Good morning Morgan's and OWM family . Hope everyone had a great 4th. The heat is upon us. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. Have a day people.
We still have relatively cool weather here mid mid west as in Northeast Missouri. Not normal but we will take it!
Mr. Morgan, I don’t know if this is a situation that could occur at your wood yard but let me relate an incident that happened to a neighbor a decade ago. My neighbor had a wood lot much like you he used for himself and family.he to had recently acquired some logs dropped of by another neighbor that he had quickly staked with his loader and walked away from not thinking anything about them. A day later his grandkids had gathered for a birthday party and at some point a 7 and 9 yr old made their way out to the wood yard and began climbing on the logs, without going into the unfortunate details they were both crushed by rolling logs.. If you think this is a possible scenario for you I’d be coming up with something to prevent anyone from getting close to your log decks..
Like you have said many times, the power of the crane on that truck is amazing.
Good morning Mike and Melissa. Another great video. We enjoyed it as usual. Thanks and Happy Birthday to Hunter. 👍❤️
Good morning Mike shipping containers are a dime a dozen. There are thousands in port Newark for sale. You might want to put a small one in WV back in the woods for secure storage. Once you paint camouflage it will blend in. I was wondering what will be the cost of running the kiln ? Everyday the cost of energy just keeps increasing!
I sell very little firewood but I did sell to our Mayor the other day.
Go figure - working on the major roads in Pennsylvania. Never ending story. Stay safe.
Fine job Mike! Way ahead on the firewood. You better come to WV and get some cut for the cabin stove.😮 Fall will be here before you know it! God Bless.
Hey Mike, ever thought about getting those long cattle feeding troughs to catch your saw dust? You can drag them out dump into the chicken coop or burn pit. Just a thought
Good Saturday morning from NH. Cloudy and humid here today. I have a bunch of wood to split and stack… but not today!
I agree Mike, get every load of logs that comes available.
I was just wondering when that drying house was going to show up. I can’t wait to see that in action. That will really make your woodyard hum.
Are you finding any attachments you like for the mini skidsteer yet? We need a log grapple and it will be fun to see which brand you choose.
Happy Birthday, Hunter!
Getter Done!!
Keep Smiling On!!
😅👍👊❤️
Great idea to get the wood while you can. Never know when that opportunity dries up.
good morning have a good day in joy your day have fun be safe 🙂
Hope you’re having a great 4th of July!!
Happy birthday Hunter thanks again for all your videos
Mike, I may have missed it in the past but have you done any cook wood? That’s the stuff that’s worth kiln drying. A lot of the smokers are smaller so i target 12 inch long, split smaller than bulk firewood, all very uniform pieces, any weird stuff gets culled. And I sell it for double what I sell bulk firewood for. It’s a lot more time consuming to process smaller length and smaller splits but the price makes up for it. That’s the stuff that’s worth kiln drying imo. I also do the same for solo stove wood for species that aren’t desirable for smoking. Cherry hickory and white oak are the main types I do for smoking wood.
Some good looking timber delivered there and I think you get a better financial return on each log than you are currently doing. Great videos I have to say and thank you for your time and effort. I do envy the space you have on your roads, here in Blighty it is almost bumper to bumper on a great number of our broken down roads.
Hi Mike, with the kiln your production is complete.
Just a thought, you may want to consider getting an NHLA grader in to tally and grade. It can minimize potential contention. You’re not as small as you think you are. Good job brother.
"Money in the bank". Gotta love me some red oak. Smells good when you split it. Have a good one. Ron from Mich.
Good morning Morgan's I was just thinking about you have a problem with pine rotting up there down here in the south we put pine logs cedar and cypress and walnut in a pond and it lasts for years and years but we have to cut the white and red oak up pretty fast the bugs will eat it faster than you can say don't do it but God Bless Y'all and have a great weekend 😂😂😂❤🎉
Good morning Mike and Levi..
Glad to see you got another happy customer. Love the music..
you are correct as usual . never to much wood on hand . god bless go hunter go
Since you cut so much firewood, as well as a lot of stuff on the sawmill, you can never have too much wood down there in your wood yard for sure....when you can get it close by and cheap enough, stock pile it as much as you can....and like you said its like money in the bank....well raw money in the bank, it ain't processed yet LOL....but its there, and ready to go whenever you are. Can't go wrong with stockpiling the firewood as you get the chance.
It'll be interesting to see what all you do with your kiln. My question would be how are you going to put your lumber in there and dry it without it splitting and cracking? I guess maybe something you can go over when you get your kiln and get it fired up.
That mini-skid steer I think is a great investment for your wood yard, small enough to be easily maneuverable in those cramped spaces, yet enough capacity to move around what you need to move.
GOOD JOB BOYZ!
Good morning OWTM family.
If I were you I would look into a heavy steel pipe rack to hold those logs. If those logs shift they could maim or even kill someone . I would suggest 6or8 inch pipe
I've never heard someone say I have too much wood😂
Hay Mike, your scrap logs off the first saw cuts you can use them for kindling bundles and charge $5 a bundle.
From the west coast of Tennessee
Good Morning Mr and Mrs Morgan and Levi!
Good morning Hunter 👋👋😸and family and friends , Happy Caturday everyone 😸😺
Hi BadCat, Happy Caturday!
Good morning!
Morning BadCat, looks like a so so weekend.... seems like if it's the weekend, it has to be rainy? Enjoy your Caturday....

I forgot you season your wood longer, so next winter season maybe you can break all previous records, 100+ cords! You have to take advantage of that red oak wood
Good Morning !! Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
Really nice video Mike. and i agree 100% - You cannot go wrong on more firewood poles, and lumber logs, it's like money in the bank, the price keeps going up on everything! When times get hard, what will people do in the North for heat - WOOD! pee pee on the carbon footprint lol These people are crazy, worrying about cow farts it's unbelievable. Excited about the Kiln for sure..ty 💯🙏 Love the music and editing sir :)
Great video, Mike.
Yall have a great day
I liked red oak too, it's the best burning wood you can use. We have lots of hickory here but it is much harder to split, very stringy.
I liked that opening music. Good choice.
Hey Morgan's. I know you have a lot happening with the wood Mill but it would be nice to have more updates on the progress of the cabin....
Let’s don’t forget the swimming pools. I imagine that won’t happen after what they went through
A good way to start the afternoon!😊
That truck that was unloading , looked like the front end of the truck was flexing ,a lot while the front wheels were hanging in the air, from the steady legs.
Morning Mike, enjoy your weekend...
Pete 🇨🇦
Good morning Pete 😸
Morning
Hi Pete, Got a little rain last night. We needed it as it was getting pretty dry.
@davidmorse8432 Morning David, so did we, a little more today, pretty green around here.... enjoy
Just a little bit here just before dusk, all in about 5 minutes.
Love your music pick Outrun ft. Lynnea greetings from The Old Jarhead in WNC
Mike, whenever I have to haul any trailer at work, I never trust anyone else to hook it up. I’m hauling it and I always double check the person who hooked up the trailer. It’s usually the guy riding shotgun who gets out and guides me back but I will get out and make sure everything is connected.
I’m sorry but am I missing something? Hopefully. He just says you never trust someone else to hook it up but then you just said someone did but you check it. Again That’s the way I read it. Hopefully I’m wrong
@@paulprigge1209you know what he is saying. He don’t trust anybody hooking it up so he gets out and checks it
Mike,
I have been sick as a dog all week, and your videos have been a real highlight! Thank you, good sir!🙌
What's wrong?
@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans Beth and I both got Covid. On the mend now, but this weather here in SE PA, is just making you feel sick! Give me a good frost!!!!!
Agree, I’m twice the man in cooler temps lol, this humidity and heat stinks. Hope you get feeling better soon
Hello from sunny California
I was wondering why you do not have a name and license number on your vehicles if you are selling a product ?
In California to write off the mileage we have to follow ALL kinds of rules and refs.
Your really have a great operation ant I have implemented a couple of your ideas, my wife thanks you because she does most of the work!
Have a great day
Keep up the good work Mike
Can't wait to see the kiln
My wife said to quit watching your channel. Because I spent too much money. We bought a mini cabin this morning. Over the last 4 years I have bought 2 new trucks a skid steer a new tractor plus mini excavator. And new barn plus new outbuildings to store it all in Plus a new heavy duty trailer just goes to show if you work hard you get the things you want
Famous last words for me, "I know it won't take too loooong"😲
You are missing a market!
All the local camp grounds would buy your "kerf" wood to mark up and sell to campers. At camp sites, each camper will spend $20/night for firewood...easy!
Then you have rental cabins that need wood.
Any wood that doesn't shoot sparks everywhere will work.
👍👍
love the intro music..!
Was wandering about the kiln.
Good morning, Morgans!!!
I live in an area where there are a lot of vacation homes. There are a lot them that want to have fires out by the water. Last night there must have been a fire every few houses around the lake. I saw 1 stand the other day with a sign saying $5.00 per 1.5 cubic feet. First I had seen it measured by cubic feed for split & wrapped firewood???
Good morning everyone!
my favorite fire wood is black locus.
you're a hard working team... enjoy a day off ~~
Best intro music so far….🙏🏼🇺🇸😎
Sorry for the random question but I’ve always wondered this. When you pick up a log with the thumb and bucket on the excavator and you curl the bucket, does it squeeze the log tighter or will the thumb automatically retract? I assume it will put more pressure on the log and if you want to curl the bucket you need to simultaneously back the thumb off. Keep up the great videos. Been enjoying your content as a loyal subscriber for several years now!
Good morning Morgan’s! Have a day!!
Good morning!
Another excellent piece of work and video Mike 😮😊❤
Hello Mike. Was not seeing the rake on escavator? Lately. Just curious. I have same rake on my kubota .121-3. You sold it for them lol. No regrets. Stay patriot my friend
I don't blame you one bit getting another load of oak!, i would have taken it as well!.
Looking forward to kiln journey. Can you show how you attach the dump trailer to 5he front of 5he skid steer?
I guess you passed on doing a Independence day celebration with fireworks this year? I always enjoyed your celebration in past years!
I missed the fireworks this year Mike.
We retired lol, for now
Get it while the getting good!
Great video!
