I love that the teaching was put in context with the era where like Mr Osborne says nobody had individual freedom to do as they liked Paying allegiance is not something that one should take lightly. It's literally a matter of life and death. Playing games with Jesus is a dangerous way to live. I love what you both are doing as regards marriage and living for Christ. Pledging allegiance to God is not easy and simple. We live in the real world filled with struggles. Sometimes it seems right to put allegiance to God aside to survive, thinking God understands our choice to disobey Him. He doesn't understand. He needs our allegiance. The solution to this problem is asking God to empower us to bear allegiance to Him like Joseph, Daniel & his companions, and many others we hear of in the Bible.
So true, Daniel was dead to himself and threats from the king of Babylon. A ‘dead’ person cannot be threatened or afraid of anything/anyone. He is only fearful of whom he is in allegiance to. This is powerful! This caught my attention. Thank you bro Jono.
Powerfull message! Past christians really humble me, the allegiance they had for The Lord makes me wonder what am really doing. May God help us christians of our time not to be caught without Allegiance to our King when he comes back!!!
