  • Join us as we complete Scotland's NC500 in one day in a Porsche Cayman 987.1 S. This road trip along the North Coast 500 is a bucket-list adventure you won't want to miss! #cayman987 #NC500 #roadtrip
    Join us on an exhilarating journey as we take on one of the most scenic and challenging road trips in the world-the North Coast 500 (NC500)! In this video, my friend and I set out to conquer the entire 516-mile route in just 24 hours, pushing the limits of both man and machine.
    We’re doing it all in my seal grey 2006 Porsche Cayman 987, a car built for performance and handling, but can it withstand the relentless twists, turns, and narrow roads of Scotland's rugged coastline at full throttle?
    The NC500 is famed for its stunning landscapes, with breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands, dramatic cliffs, endless beaches, and winding roads through remote villages. But with only 24 hours on the clock, there’s no time to take it slow. This is a race against time, fatigue, and the elements.
    Expect a mix of adrenaline, exhaustion, and awe as we:
    Power through tight corners and winding roads.
    Encounter unpredictable weather conditions typical of the Highlands.
    Battle with long stretches of isolated roads, often overtaking motorhomes, cyclists, and other road-trippers.
    Push the Porsche to its limits while capturing the beauty of Scotland’s most iconic road trip.
    Will we complete the full NC500 in just one day? Or will the demands of the route prove too much? Join us for a high-octane road trip, filled with scenic views, fast cars, and the thrill of a lifetime!

    It was particularly bad after lockdown , most of Glasgow and Edinburgh headed to the West Coast to try and revive their sanity and you can't blame them.

    Don't you ever, EVER, put a handbrake on like that again. Do y'hear me?!?! 😂 Nice video guys, but you drove it the wrong way round imho. The scenery gets better as you drive east to west, and you finish on the Applecross which is a great way to end the trip.

      He will never learn! I mean I have heard people do it the other way. Issue would have been applecross, tired and dark. Needed to see it in the light. Incredible scenery.

    Not sure why people always go on about this route. Great scenery but these don't look like good driving roads, it would probably be more enjoyable in a slow car that you don't need to worry about damaging and can just go full speed over bad roads.

    Or have you run a different trip previously for those shots??

    I love all your videos mate but this is too long in one hit. Harry’s garage has just released a countach road trip part 1 @ 17mins long. I feel if videos are shorter you’ll be able to make more videos with potentially more views overall.
    That all said, well done for doing this. You’ve clearly put loads of effort into to this and I hope it springboards your channel 🤞🏼

    • @JoeTalksCars
      @JoeTalksCars  4 місяці тому

      Agreed. This was a trial really, long videos are being pushed on UA-cam so thought I’d give it a go. The next one that’s out tonight is a little shorter but still 28 mins I think. Thanks tho! Really appreciate the support

    Hi joe, i am about to buy a 2008 Cayman S and I stumbled upon your youtube channel and got worried about bore scoring issue. The car has done 120k miles with no abnormal observation. I am buying from an indivisual who is not comfortable with doing a camera inspection on the bore. The current owner has limited knowledge lf porsche and doesnt know what the bore score issue is. I loved the car but I am worried. I am offering him 6k £. What do you advise ?

    • @cliffordholifield551
      @cliffordholifield551 4 місяці тому +2

      Walk away if the owner is not comfortable having you check the engine over, 6K is cheap but you could end up with 10K rebuild 🙈🙈

    • @Dung_Beetle1617
      @Dung_Beetle1617 4 місяці тому +1

      There’s no way on earth he hasn’t heard of the more scoring issue’ and he’s trying to sell it cheap because the engine is knackered. Offer £4K if the body/suspension and brakes are good. Spend £14k on a Hartech engine rebuild. You’ve got yourself a new car.
      If you can’t afford a big bill, please don’t buy it.

    • @MaverickOman
      @MaverickOman 4 місяці тому

      @@Dung_Beetle1617 I don’t think the guy understand much about cars. I’ve met him and spoke to him. But the car have done 130kmiles and I tested it and no signs of bore scores at least not in the performance and it’s been in use for 16 years. I am puzzled

    • @aidan463
      @aidan463 4 місяці тому +1

      I have a high mileage 3.4s (135k) with no bore scoring issues so it is possible to buy a well used well loved car from someone who knew how to minimise the risks of it happening… BUT there is no way I’d buy one even cheap without someone checking for scoring. Any seller who is reticent should be treated as if they know it’s got issues and I’d walk away. They are great cars but there will always be another to buy. BTW Joe, I loved this new style of filming, adventures are where it’s at for me and I’m glad to see you making content like this 😊
