Hi, Monique! Thanks so much for the helpful video! We're now amidst KS fulfillment and it seems many of our Backers are using this video as a reference guide for rules, which we really appreciate! However, since the video is based on the prototype, We wanted to jump in here real quick to inform final copy viewers about the changes in our final copy in comparison to our prototype reviewed here:) For viewers with the final copies, the following video is based on the prototype copy of Wondrous Creatures. There have since been rule changes implemented in the final copy. For reference and to note for players with the final copy of Wondrous Creatures, the following changes have been made: 04:30 Place Crew -Instead of initially playing two cards, Crew abilities are now unlocked by completing an Achievement (Page 15 - #6). -Additionally, the Crew abilities related to terrain types like mountains, lakes, or islands have been removed. In the final copy, the crew can only be placed on plain terrain or mountain terrain by paying extra resources (Page 10 - Crew Placement Rules). 10:00 Recharge -When performing a recharge action, instead of moving your personal Time Tracker, the 1 main Time Tracker advances. -If there's an icon on the space where the Time Tracker lands, you must trigger the corresponding event (Page 17 - #2). -Terrain tiles now appear in the game through advancing on the Score Track instead of the Time Track (Page 11 - Discovery). The overall structure of the game remains similar, but many of the finer details have been modified, which could significantly impact gameplay if missed. Therefore, we strongly recommend reading the rulebook of the mass-production final copy before playing!
I just received my copy of Wondrous Creatures. Thank you for the fantastic teach. You are always so thorough and precise; my go to. I can't wait to play this game.😊
I have been anxiously awaiting this video as soon as I saw this game show up on Kickstarter!!! Thanks so much for reviewing! It looks just as awesome as I thought it would!
My fiancé bought me this game and I'm so excited, I had to come watch this video again. I've gotta say though, refreshing a hatched egg is a lil goofy 😂 but this game seems like it's gonna be a favorite of mine.
I was so excited to see a video linked on the Kickstarter from my favourite boardgame focused YT channel, I love the your content style, and this was a huge help in learning how the game would be played. One question I did have, is that it seems majority of scoring is done end game and - I might have missed it in the video, but - I was wondering if you could you give an example of how we would progress along the scoring track during/alongside gameplay in order to earn those butterfly nets (and other bonuses if there are others)? Thank you in advance for answering my question!
Thanks for the informative video! I'm sad I'm tardy to the Kickstarter party, but hopefully I'll be able to snag a copy on the BGG GeekMarket after fulfilment. Your shirt is so cute, btw!
Interesting to stumble across this, shame I missed the kickstarter but it looks like they're still taking pledges albeit more expensive. One note that really bothered me, and I don't know if it's because the game used this terminology, but mammals are not a species they are a class. It's the creatures on the cards which are either the species or perhaps the genus. My cat and I are both mammals but we're very different species. Why is it so very difficult to come across game kickstarters I want to support whilst they're still running. Thank you for your excellent walkthrough of how this game is played.
I'm having a tougher time discerning between promotional videos and genuine upcoming release videos. I like knowing when a reviewer is covering a game because they genuinely love it vs they are being paid to promote it. I can't bring myself to back this one yet. I think I need to see some actual "reviews" for this one.

My copy is arriving Saturday. So thanks for selling me on the game originally and for helping me catch up.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! Hope you have a blast playing when it comes in!!
I just got mine today as well! The entire family is so excited to play this!! ❤
You are a consummate explainer of games, Monique! Detailed, concise, and elegant. Many kudos and thank you.

Nice, backed straight away, been looking forward to this for ages.
Excellent teach! Looks like a Fantasy themed Wingspan.
At 13:00 I believe it's each OTHER players (not the one that triggered the end game) that gets a turn. That's a difference in the final rulebook.
Just got it and needed to come back to the tutorial. It's so pretty!

great work, thanks Monique!
This looks incredible, thank you for showing it! I'll definitely keep an eye out for this when it comes to retail!
Very much like the theme! Well reviewed!

This girl must have so many rules in her head.
We love you Monique.

This looks like a mix between wingspan, everdell and encyclopedia
I have the same perception and hope it is like that since Everdell and Wingspan are some of my favourite games.
Great teach!
Cool, thanks for the vid!
Great review. Do you plan to do a playthrough soon of this. Not many out there yet. Thanks!

You are very pretty and explain the games very well. Also very good video quality. Good work
Borrows heavily from wingspan. Not seeing anything original here
