    I bought the 1 to 10 out kit. It was easy to build, top quality and works great. Now that I have a need for merging, I am coming back for more!

      Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Take a look at 2->10 with a merge option, it solves so many tasks.

    I would like to complement you on your contribution on making these kits available. I would also like to see this venture being sustain - kits with video instruction. Would be willing to help you - on a volunteer basis so that you can produce more projects. You become a role model for creativity, an instructor and a solution provider. Your role is very significant.

    This is awesome - finally, I can set up a new lab! I've been struggling with the prices on boxes - used or new. Plus, really wanted sync to connect to old gear and Teenage Engineering devices. Yes!! I ordered the big 2 -->10 and the MIDI to sync. Yey!

      Hi, for smaller kits like 1->4 or 2->5 Hammond makes aluminum cast enclosures that can be used there, such as 1032L. For bigger board it's easy to put them in between two pieces of acrylic top and bottom. You'll find CorelDraw masks on github for every kit.

    This is such a nice project. I am crazy obsessed about latency. Forgive me, what is the latency measured on the outputs in ns or ms (on the 2in,10out pcb). I am very interested in giving this a try.

    Hi,
    I've just discovered your product.
    Very interesting..
    Question .. does or will exist an merger that gives the possibility to merge 4,5,6 up to 8 input to 1 or 2 output or more ?
    Thanks.

    • @DeftAudio
      @DeftAudio  3 роки тому

      Yes, you can design a 8x8 merger using a Teensy version. This will require some minor programming in just adjusting a basic firmware that I supply it with. www.tindie.com/products/deftaudio/teensy-41-midi-breakout-board-8in-8out-usb-host/

      Depends the package you purchase. Teensy kits generally don't include Teensy chip.

    The purchaser has no means of contacting you unless here on UA-cam or registering at Tindie. I suggest you provide a means of contacting the seller without having to register. If you purchase a product, why does the patron need to register in order to ask a question or solve an issue - registering was not required for the purchase.

      @DeftAudio  4 роки тому

      That's not my rules, that's Tindie rules. But I'm not limiting you contacting me over Tindie only if you don't like it. All kits support files including BOM and schematics are posted on Github, link in the item description on Tindie. Items are also listed on eBay. You can use any of those to contact me too.

      @@DeftAudio Ultimately, it is your responsibility to give easy access to your buyer. You are asking the buyer to go to Ebay or Github to try contacting you? I see with your response that we do not share the same mindset on customer care. I have now withdrawn my volunteer support.

    • @DeftAudio
      @DeftAudio  4 роки тому +2

      @@bobcatt2294 Absolutely not, that's why I'm replying you here. But there are nicer support channels with proper communication and logging. This is why Github is just more efficient place for collaboration. Tindie has great structure for support tickets and managing issues too. And obviously everyone who made a purchase are leveraging this for any follow up questions or issues. But I'm not limiting anyone contacting me - eBay, Tindie, UA-cam, Github. You pick.

    The kit idea is great for learning and creativity. However it would be of great benefit if you labeled the components so that those who do not understand the values (example of resisters) may be able to confidently build. your kits you offer. Also it best you inform your potential buyer of the level of experienced needed to successfully create the build. In summary the kit can not be build if you are unable to read schematics, understand the values or identify the components you ship.
    A video would be most helpful. I teach basic electronics and my beginning students did not know how to identify components nor where to solder them on the board. Generally kit manufacturers offer detailed instructions so that the installer (whether experienced or not) learns what the components do, are able to identify components, components polarity and values. I suggest if you are planning on delivering more kits, that you create a Patrion channel and make these videos available. I hope you agree, what I suggest makes good business sense. Thumbs up.

      Thank you for your feedback. I always label resistors in my kits. These are marks on the paper ammo pack, please make sure you didn't miss it. Also, I minimized the number of values used, and when for instance you order big kit with 10 MIDI outputs, you receive 26 resistors of same 220ohm value which makes it obvious.

    Have you tested the caps polarity? The cap's, so called polarity markings, often are, unfortunately, not the correct for polarity. By not testing these capacitors, you are then asking the DIY person to acquire a tester in order to find the shielded lead. If you have tested these leads, then publish the true polarity.

    • @DeftAudio
      @DeftAudio  4 роки тому

      Be careful buying caps from eBay or Ali, use proved sources, then you can trust the polarity markings.

    • @bobcatt2294
      @bobcatt2294 4 роки тому

      @@DeftAudio This is not an Ebay issue, major manufacturers for some reason do not properly identify the polarity of caps. By not testing these capacitors, you are then asking the DIY person to acquire a tester in order to find the shielded lead. If you have tested these leads, then publish the true polarity. I seldom take polarity markings at face value for caps.

      @@bobcatt2294 I do not agree with that. That's not an eBay as the platform issue, it's seller quality issue. There are many counterfeit parts available what makes nothing but an additional risk. If you stay with a reliable manufacturer and a distributor, then you limiting yourself to the factory failure. Standard AFR is 0.4% for the most components. It always to be there, but dealing with my company since 2008 I've never experienced problems are you're talking about.
