Kratos, Gaia, and the other Titans ascend Mount Olympus to destroy the Olympian gods. Poseidon launches an assault against them, but is killed by Kratos and Gaia; his death causes the oceans to flood Greece. Reaching Olympus' peak, they try to attack Zeus, but he drives them back and knocks them off the mountain. As Gaia clings to the mountainside, she refuses to save Kratos, calling him a pawn for the Titans' revenge.

Do you agree that this game is better than "Ragnarok" ? I mean, in here, we could actually feel that the world was ending and there was so much to lose if nothing survived. In the new one...I could hardly feel like the world was ending.
@@JabamiLain L
@@elchovi3621 "L" what ?
@@JabamiLain Weird.. I felt the same but for Ragnarok instead of this one.
@glp thank you for uploading this video, I miss playing this game so much. this game is my all-time favorite out of the original GOW games before the new ones
Disasters caused by Killing the Olympians :
1. Poseidon : His lifeless body fall into the Ocean. The Ocean Water rises and the Tidal Waves swallow the Lands, causing a Great Flood all over the Greece except the mountain Top.
2. Hades :The whole dead souls escape from the Underworld and wandering aimlessly upon the Living World. Hades's body was drag into River Styx.
3. Helios : His head Scream for the last time. The Sun was covered by the Dark Cloud and the Sky was filled with Rains and Storms for all eternity.
4. Hermes : His leg is severed. From his body, the Plague carrying flies comes out of his corpse and spreading the disease all over Olympus.
5. Hera : The Whole Plants withered and died from the Olympus into the whole Greece.
6. Zeus : His dead body cause Lightning to struck the Heaven severing the bonds between Heaven and Earth. And with it, the destruction of Olympus Temples and plunge the world on Chaos.
7. Kratos : He stabbed himself with the Blade of Olympus causing the power of Hope to be released upon the world so Mankind can survive without the helps of the Olympians. However, he was forced to wander the Earth forever.
I still don’t get why Norse doesn’t have these dire consequences for killing Gods, only baulder’s death has a consequence (fimbulwinter)
@@Tobreakthecycle cause norse gods are just magic and runes there's nothing about them being important to the balance of the earth also laziness lol
@@Tobreakthecycle It was actually Freya's mourning that caused fimbulwinter according to the actual lore... so, her fighting through the effects of it in the game tells me two things: the Norse gods were not as powerful as we thought or she doesn't have full control over her power. Always irks me how 'gods', beings supposedly beyond humanity, seemingly have the worst of human problems.
@KetoFit For Life ohh interesting. Yeah that definitely changes things
but then how did the Sun, the plants and all else returned back to normal in God of War 2018?
Kratos absolutely has to be one of the greatest creative problem solvers in video game history
That's what I was thinking. Other characters call him a dumb brute, but he's very smart.
@@sanfordday brute & smart, crazy combination for unpredicted attacks
@@1mmemorial yup. Athena has taken notice of that. Another reason she supports him the most.
@@sanfordday he is a brute

The term "You cannot define a man of today by the man of his youth" really applies to Kratos lol
nothing beats OG god of war so nostalgic
So true
It's not even nostalgia. I'm new to these games and watching them for the first time so I can play the newest one, and it's genuinely one of the best playstation exclusives OAT
I dunno man, I kinda like Kratos.
Ares is alright, I guess.
But Kratos is HIM.
1:27:21 I like how Kratos just walks in on Hephestus right after he just screwed his wife.
"While you were crying like a little bitch for Pandora....he was off...fuckin yo wife...then he came back and stabbed yo ass"
I love how the beginning explains the other games in a unique and artful way
Still THE most epic game in the franchise. This feels like a finale, the sheer spectacle, the buildup, the scale. The whole events of the actual Ragnarok in the latest game feels too rushed, it doesn’t have that apocalyptic war feel that this game had. No game has come to my mind that did a finale as good as this game has.
it wasnt to have an apocalyptic feel. They wanted to focus on the relationship between Kratos and his son, and the relationship between the other Gods. Ragnarok wasnt apocalyptic for anyone except the Asgardians, which we dont really see much of. As well it doesnt happen until the very end and we escape. All these games however really capture the essence of mythologies they pull from. Even whilst remodeling and modernizing the characters and the environment. Other games make magic and other mystical elements feel like science and not very supernatural, where as these games it actually feels like the Gods are doing the impossible. You are right to say GOW3 really gives off the apocalyptic feel that GOWR doesnt, but it wasnt meant to
Kratos was a destroyer in god of war 3 which is why it’s so apocalyptic, in ragnarok it’s about preserving rather than destroying
@@MinkMinkOW So true.. Ragnarok at the end does capture the feel of an all out war also.
Kratos being all soft and ooen with pandora is so wholesome and heartwarming
I miss young kratos so much...
For people who say the change of Kratos between GOW 3 and GOW 2018 and onward is bullshit.. Allow me to direct you to 2:03:15 seconds. The hope speech from pandora. That's around the time that seed of change was planted
I had been wanting to watch GoW again from the beginning so this is great timing. Such a phenomenal series!
I'm with you 💯 on that bro!
Literally marathon watching all the cutscenes of 1, 2, and 3
Lol when he gets to the musical mini game:
"Oh brother, this guy stinks!"
Understanding Greek makes this game much darker and epic😅
God of war in a nutshell:
Kratos! You can't do the thing!
Kratos: Imma do the thing!
This is one of the saga's best. But I'm glad Kratos moved on from this violence.
Still, I miss some of the old games' details, such as the POV, that allowed you more freedom, and maybe some of that viciousness, at least in the "Ragnarok" game, so we could feel more that "End of the world" vibe.
Sorry, got lost in memory lane for a moment there. It's amazing to see the parallels between the end of this Pantheon and the Norse's, especially after finding out the Greeks were more powerful. Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't try to take over the world. But I'm also a bit sadder, because lots of knowledge seems to have been lost alongside the power they had acquired. It had to be done though. I understand that now. It took me years, but I finally understand how Kratos wasn't the ultimate villain.
Hera got me dying of laughter with her drunk ass 😂😂
i miss the days where you would start the game super powerful lose your powers and then gain new powers, it explains away gaining all those powers in the previous games and now you have to start over in most games with sequels they just start you fresh with no explanation as to why you dont have the cool stuff from the previous game, here they show him super strong then they debuff him but in the new game, you just start fresh despite being super strong from the previous game, i wish gow ps5 would have had a boss fight with a norse god who steals all your powers and breaks your armor so it would explain why you have to start over but instead they just have you start over without explaining where your powers and weapons went.
Cant wait for the Egyptians Gods to be shaking in their jimmies when kratos and moses team up
Aren't those gods more spiritual though ? Maybe they'll be more neutral towards Kratos's actions (except for Seth).
@@JabamiLain who knows but I'd love to see the mythology go hand and hand with the lead up to the birth of Christ, think it would be a great way to end the story, moses meeting kratos, burning bush, 7 plagues, fall of Egyptian Gods, exodus of Egypt, ect
........the dark horse comic beat you to it for Egypt man sorry he was already there and somethings telling me a game isn't happening because it was established since GOW 2018

Hermes just reminding me of Heimdall all over again lmao
*cough* it's been the other way I have never seen a Norse god civilized (even if heimdall in ragnarok is a pain in the booty)
As nostalgic as God of War 3 is, God of War: Ascension is my overall favorite in the franchise. Say what you want about the story, but the graphics are the best for the franchise, even in PlayStation 3’s twilight year.
Also, the live-action announcement trailer, even today, is bitching fire🔥.
I know, right ? I mean, the third installment is my favorite, but "Ascension" is underrated.
@@JabamiLain Amen.
Also, did you know there's a "Kingdom Hearts" fanfic focused on Roxas, in which one of the worlds he visits is this one ? It's called "The Twilight Will".
What makes this fanfic special, is that it feels like a natural expansion of the universe we've grown used to. It's like going beyond borders previously believed to be impossible of breaching ! And that's why, it would be a shame not to read it !
Did not know this great info!
Love watching your content man, and those moments were you're just having fun lol -- we watch your playthroughs more than we do actual movies or play the damn games xD
If only the god of war franchise never strayed so far from this kind of direction in amazing gameplay and execution of plot and story
The new one still has the amazing story & gameplay, the direction is just different.
@@Comicbroe405 camera angle won't let you only focus on the combat
Back then you didn't have to press a button to collect your rewards
And gameplay was better when the platforming and climbing was all controlled by you only
Now its just some interactive transition that requires very little to no skill
The armor system feels redundant after we have seen him survive without it, the upgrades are more tedious to obtain and add to your weapons, hack n slash mechanics simplified to the point of repetitive combos, bosses repeat way to often, color coded boss system copied from devil may cry, very little gods were introduced, spectacle diminished to only few maps, too little amounts of weapons, limited magic attacks are no longer a high risk high reward knowing they are always recharged back, and the story is at best a corny copy paste and recolor of last of us
So yeah i believe its disappointing at best
@@Comicbroe405 the new gameplay is bad boring and repetitive
Ragnarok can't hold a candle to this masterpiece.
It could have, if it changed certain aspects.
Just got 100% on Ragnarok and while I enjoyed myself for the most part it was still kind of a let down, Odin and Thor didn't really live up to the hype, combat felt a bit looser than 2018 and the realms felt so restricted and underused.
Every time I was hoping for an epic blood bath of a battle there would be a bit of a fight and then usually Kratos would let off the aggro and exclaim how he's not the man he used to be but it just kept reminding me how God of War is past it's prime.
@@JoCoHo Kratos doesn't even kill the giant in the end. And the dude used to eat titans for breakfast.
@@gdc4736 I definitely would've preferred if he had fought Ragnarok.

Yes Poseidon got hurt real bad.
I feel like after playing Ragnarok, there's a little resurgence of GOW3 content on youtube.
Makes sense. "Ragnarok" did give us new insight regarding the Greek Pantheon and what its end might have meant after all.
Ragnarok was a huge let down with underwhelming boss fights
Kratos is badass
Only the Greek pantheon kratos, the Norse kratos is too tame docile soft and family friendly
@@alsimmonshellspawn6021 i really like the old kratos than the new kratos

"the power to kill a god!"
what have we been doing 3 games now? 🤔
Excellent
Keep going 🤗
I wish everyone kratos is involved with somehow was able to witness this through a mural / vision .. lmao Odin wouldn’t of even tried
I watched the current because you made other one before but this 4K PS5 so the graphics is more cooler
Which Mythology should the next God of War take place for me either Egyptian Mythology or Japanese Mythology
Both would be great . I’d say Egyptian.
@@glp Which Mythology Characters Kratos should fight in the new God of War for me I want to see Kratos fight Raijin The Japanese God of Thunder and Lightning and Fujin The Japanese God of Wind
Hate to be that guy.......he's been in Egypt already in a dark horse comic he must have been traveling around a looooot BEFORE Scandinavia (Norse Mythology)
A more spiritual one. Some Pantheon that is more neutral towards his past deeds.
There isn't many players in the Japanese mythology. Egyptian has a lot more to work with.
Bruh I forgot that Kratos is basically the worst villain in these older games. Kills tens of thousands of innocents to avenge the deaths of like 4 people
Kratos is not your marvel/dc superhero
Keep going👍
Most watched time of the whole video is kratos “conquering” aphrodite
Im proud of you guys
I would love to see Kratos goes on toe to toe with Asura
I still think the new game would have benefited greatly by having Athena and the two Greek Fates that were sent to the day Ares perished return to help Odin (still making my mind regarding the Evil Fear), only this time more experienced and ready for multiple scenarios that involved Kratos's defeat, wether it is through the taxing of his blood or the destruction of his future and legacy. The Giants had their Greek variants. Why shouldn't Asgard have some of his own ? Such as having Hades's blade's as s soul supply to ressurect some of the Greek monsters in order to strengthen the army further ?
Like Yumeko would probably say if she was a warrior, a war/revolution means little if both sides refuse to take risks. Both sides have so much to lose if their doom is set in stone yet so much to offer if they collect the gains from their victory. Why shouldn't they fight equally ?
1:24:40
Well met, men of culture
A beast of a game
so i wonder how the childhood was after those kids that played this in 2010 with that hardcore porn scene.... wonder if parents were mad back then XD
Much better than the garbage they pumped out in 2018.

2:32:44 honestly the best moment of the entire video xDDD
1:24:20 you're welcome 💜💜💜
Ye the real fking God of war series .. not the fking Drama we r getting today .
I understand what you mean after playing "Ragnarok" (that game could have used some more depravity). But you still have to acknowledge how far he has come since this time. We must not forget he deserved to find some happiness after all of this (it sounds a bit weird to say this given all of the pain he caused).
@@JabamiLain I purely understand that but they should of changed the titled it's not longer a God of war game don't get me wrong I really enjoy the game "Ragnarok" but still so much emotional bullshit that all the violence and all the depravity of the old god of war is completely gone , Kratos being a ruthless brute is the part of what is God of war .
@@sandmandzkhalil3618 yeah, I hear ya. Even the 2018 had its set of atrocities. My biggest complaint regarding "Ragnarok" is exactly the fact that they didn't seem to try to maintain saga's original spirit alive, like you said, especially considering that was supposed to be the end of the world, which is supposed to be the lowest point for a human's heart.
But, you know, if you don't want to acknowledge the new games as "GOW", there's a fanfic you could read in which Kratos does not go soft, since his revenge isn't 100% complete, setting him on a potential new path. It's a "Kingdom Hearts" fanfic called "The Twilight Will".
@@sandmandzkhalil3618 hey, before we finish. After the information we gained regarding the Greek Pantheon we received in "Ragnarok", aren't you surprised they didn't try to take over the world ? Because I am.
@@JabamiLain exactly mate .. I will look into that now thank you so much for sharing .
and regarding the take over the world thing , that is a point I wanted to talk about too but somehow I forget .. I was surprised too , and they neglect everything about the end of the original GOW !!! ??

No, disrespect what so ever, but coming back to this after God of War 2018 and Ragnorok, I much prefer Christopher Judeg's voice-over. I just think it fits Kratos much more.
Nah Christopher judeg made kratos seem less intimidating softer too tamed less badass and low testosterone

Wtf. Do you not value enthusiasm ?
