    Hi everyone!
    A quick note:
Last episode with Jamie spawned some good discussion and some negative ones, too. Understand that Jamie has a lot going on and lives a fairly simple and rugged life. He is also twice my age. He is not someone who is interested in screen-arguing. If he doesn't respond to your initial comments or ceases communication - it is nothing against you! His lifestyle simply isn't congruent with the kind of quick responses we are used to. -Artxmis

I remember when I listened to the last WarZone episode thinking "Didnt humans speciate by eating bone marrow?"
Glad Jamie has cleared this up, looking forward to his so-called "21st Century Primitvist Manifesto"

This is very cool, and I have a lot to process. I would love for Jamie and Rio Del Montana to talk. I have read EcoPatriarchy and it got me thinking a lot, I even gave it to a professor. I don't know what my path will be, because I know I want to go into anthropology in order to help anarchist-prmitivist-indigenous ends. but I don't want to be an agent of power.
I have a friend who is nihilist-vegan who says she will only eat meat if it is an animal she has hunted, never purchased.
I am really grateful for the reading list. I read Desert by anonymous during the December of 2021, and the chapter on African Roads to Anarchy gave me some hope, after feeling a lot of despair.

Glad the reading list is helpful and the content of the video engaged you. I want to facilitate Jamie and Ria's conversation in the future, for sure! I know Jamie is interested. I've read "EcoPatriarchy" but the scholarship is lacking.. - Artxmis

I’ll have to wait until I get my copy back to look at the citations and such, but if it isn’t too much to ask, could you say a specific critique you have of it?

@@annihlud6569 I know no, and I really mean no anthropologist who believes her theory of hunting. In fact, people like Jamie, Christ Knight, and Camila Power argue essentially the opposite, that women empowered themselves through male hunting. - Artxmis

I understand. When I get my copy back, I’ll look at the citations and evaluate it myself. Even if the book’s theory is wrong I think I’d benefit from investigating it. I remember that towards the end Del Montana wrote about a group of foragers somewhere in South America that she used to support her theory, but she said something that I remember was a red flag but I don’t remember what it was. All of this is to say is that I need to investigate.
This podcast, specifically the episode with an interview of Dr. F.C Steve’s, was what got me into starting anthropology this spring. And the first part of the interview lays the pitfalls of anthropology, more things to consider.
I think y’all are doing good work, and I appreciate that this podcast exists.

Do either of you know any literature that talks about the dine hunter gatherers of the south west that were still practicing their lifestyle before the dine were sent on the long walk? I've only ever read that they were smaller in number compared to the many dine who picked up farming from the pueblos. Loved your guest, podcast is doing great

I can ask when Jamie is back from a trip. I am unfortunately under-educated in that regard. I remember a story that said Apache and Navajo split over nomadic foraging and agricultural life-ways, realizing the two different paths. Very interesting commentary on the intentionality of life-ways! Sorry I can't answer your question.. - Artxmis
