I found this interesting. I think part of the reason why some authors are able to say the problems of civilization but are unwilling to say that therefore civilization needs to end is because it is the only lived experience that they have. And it can take a lot to be able to break from it. December of 2021 was the time I really started to question civilization but I could not say to myself that I think that civilization is the problem. At least not consistently. It was the next year, when I was so miserable in my nuclear chemistry job that I was finally able to admit that civilization is the problem, not just capitalism.
