There isn't one episode of these that isn't informative, fresh, kind, and inspiring
Never forget Elaine Welteroth revived Vogue Teens out of fashion death and made it relevant to young Gen Z, love her trailblazing a$$ in the fashion/editorial world. Just watch her interview here, literally creating a title for herself as an intern and negotiating a salary on her own - talk about manifesting exactly what you want out of life.
I love her and I loved this interview?!!? I just randomly clicked on this without knowing anything about her and she did not disappoint.
When she said “follow your enthusiasm” 🥺 Love her
I LOVED your guys' synergy - she asked you questions, you asked her questions, and in the end I felt you both really connected, which made me feel connected to you both. Love, love these episodes. You and all your guests are such an inspiration! x
What a light she is.
Thank you for this ... my son is biracial & adopted ... I'm so grateful to hear conversations that can help me be a better & hopefully more understanding/aware mama 💗
There's a lot of good content on UA-cam around POC kids, biracial families/kids, and adoption. Hope you continue to find relevant information that will serve you well in your motherhood journey. :)
@@SL-lz9jr thank you 💓
This was such an amazing interview. I am as white as white can be and I've almost never thought of the struggles that mixed races have to go through. I'm also glad we have women stepping forward and being so honest about their experiences and struggles, whether it be about race, gender, or sexual preference. It makes me happy to be a part of this generation. We have a long way to go, but I think we're going in the right direction. You're amazing, ladies!!!
Totally agree! When I started dating my fiancee 5 years ago (he is Mexican American, I am white as snow), it was such a culture shock. But I totally identified with Ashley when she said we need to ask the questions..bc I still do! This was such a refreshing and amazing episode. As we start to have children, it's so weird that I never thought of them being biracial but they will be! I'm so excited to learn more and be an activist for our community.
Elaine Welteroth, a bringer of Oneness and Hope. A natural bridge for love, connection and togetherness from a very young age. A bright sun ray of light and fire. LOVE THIS INTERVIEW..!
I love you Elaine ♥️♥️thank you for making recognize that I’m more than enough
I just love Ashley Graham and her podcast is LYF! Admittedly, I didn't know who Elaine was but best believe, a new role model for me. I fricken love her ambition, drive and fearlessness! GURL. Not showing up to work after not getting your requested pay rise. BALLSY.
LOVE. IT.
Elaine is such an inspirational woman and her book is amazing! Highly recommended!
This was a great episode. I’m catching up on every one that I’ve missed and Ashley really asks the best questions, does the research and it feels like joining in on genuine friendly conversations. Elaine’s book was awesome and so was this episode. Thank you.
Yessss I love this, I am a biracial woman who grew up knowing 3 other biracial girls and no black people at all. Moved to a bigger city and am finally getting to know others that grew up the way I did. This is a big identity topic
Yes Auntie Elaine! Her words are so honest and inspiring and I love how she and Ashley draw each other into the conversation. So good.
I ADORE Elaine! She is such a powerful, charismatic woman and she’s just so intelligent. Loved this interview! 💕
Can't wait to get her book; I met her once on my one trip to NYC through a former co-worker. Love it Ashely! I totally look forward to these vids for refreshments xoxo
Awww so proud of you Lainey! Can’t believe how far you’ve come since our Ogilvy days. Keep going girl!
I am so glad I am listening to this right now. I'm literally just being introduced to this woman and I love how powerful she is. She truly has a presence about her and the authenticity is truly refreshing.
This woman is amazing, she went to my highschool. I was a freshman and Elaine was a senior. I remember she made speeches at events & always seemed super smart. I looked up to her & I'm sure a lot of other people did too!
Im 20 and white and have felt incredibly inspired by Elaine since I was in 7th grade.
I sort of "grew up" watching her and Phillip Picardi represent their cultures and themselves while uploading videos on the TeenVogue UA-cam Channel and I remember feeling like even though I could quite yet understand their position; I would love to keep learning about their stories and backgrounds near and dear to me.
And to this day, Elaine has shaped so much of my aspirations on work and much more.
by far my favorite!! absouletly loved this interview!!!
The definition of a black queen!!
This interview felt like 10 minutes ugh wow so good!
This was an amazing episode. So empowering! Thank you for talking about is mixed people. Xo
Inspirational, interesting, lots of goodies in this, love it.💙 Thank you both ,🙏. I'm biracial and can relate.
This was... everything! ❤️
SO SMART SO BEAUTIFUL
I'm casually friends with two people who grew up with Elaine in their hometown (neighboring city of my hometown) and I don't doubt at all that she is the type of person she presents herself to be. Because the two friends I know are similar types of people in terms of their perspective about life. Good people surround themselves with other good people. I wish I knew her personally but I'm still so proud of what she's accomplished and the positive and forward thinking messages she's presenting. She may not be from my hometown but dangit, can I claim her as my hometown hero anyway? ;) Great interview Ashley!
I love this so muchhh!! Such wonderful people, just adore the topics they highlighted in this so so powerful💖
So beautiful word out and finally some one making diverse beauty stand out
You’re both such beautiful women ❤️💚
Ashley is so awesome. Stay healthy, 👍😍Greats from Germany 🇩🇪
I LOVE your podcasts!! thank you for another great convo :)
It’s so interesting and refreshing hearing from someone who is more comfortable being the interviewer! Usually people prefer talking about themselves
Being South African I can relate to her not finding pictures of people who look like her family members for a school project. I just couldn't find people like me in magazines. Her story is amazing Ashley Graham is the best at interviewing people. She really does her homework first.
Ashley is so gorgeous 💗
Ashley Graham, I hope you write a book as well about all you have learned from conversations and being in a relationship with your husband and about the experience of preparing for a blended family!
I Love this space where you show us all kinds of pretty big deals!
I LOVED this! Preach 🙌🏻
Where can I buy her book?!
Only Mariah Carey? Let's not forget about Jennifer Beals ! :) As a biracial woman, I looked up to her so much when I was a kid.
They are both such important figures, but not gonna lie, neither represent the darker skin tone and kinky curly hair I would have loved to see represented growing up as a biracial girl
One of my favorites episodes♡♡♡ you 2 are awnsome
Beautiful video !!
Wait Elaine and I are the same age!! Omg I need to step up my career game. So inspiring
Ashley your interview skills are amazing keep the great work engaging
I learned SO much. Thanks Ashley
I love that when Ashley starts out with like "Oh, speaking of marriage and children", you see Elaine being all "am I seriously here to be asked when I'll have kids?" - and then PSYCH! - turns out Ashley read her book and is asking thoughtful questions about Elaine's childhood and thoughts about racial identity in a complex world. What a twist, you can practically see her light up, when she realizes what's going on.
Elaine Welteroth is such a great model of a human!!
I loved this episode! So inspirational. I needed it!!!
Two wonderful women. Amazing interview.
these interviews are gold
Wao that biracial / black thing is really interesting. it's the first time is see someone from the States talking about that. As a French person, I identify myself as mixed (even though it's a bit more complicated than that). Saying that I'm black or white would put one of my sides aside. But I understand that most people in the US feels black. Let's not forget the notion of being black or white is a social construction.
Sadly in America, society decides your race/identity based on what they perceive you to be, regardless of what you actually are. They just don’t care what you want to identify as 🤷🏾♀️
Congrats 👨👩👧
THAT BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE. I NEEDED IT, GO CHECK IT OUT IF YOU HAVENT ✨ “ More than enough” by Elaine
“Follow your enthusiasm. Because your mind can play tricks on you and I think your heart might change...” @ElaineWelteroth
loveeee it
Wow - Ashley was on the BACK FOOT
Yess there is a huge misrepresentation in the Latino community for mixed racial identity as well. We’re branded as either white or black or indigenous when in reality majority of us are mixed with all 3! (Obviously there are also asian latinos etc). Please have some latinas on the show ☺️
I Love You & Your Baby Boy ❤❤❤
Nice Ashley
invite Tyra to your show plz~~
Elaine is the truth. End of discussion.
Hay could you interview Chiara Ferragni she has an amazing story!
Please bring an Asian American guest! EVA CHEN!!
I get so confused when Ashley describes herself as white because she looks mixed race to me. Would love to see a pic of her real father, because she does not look white.
Am I the only one who sees that she is not white?
@@starshine8141 She looks pretty south European. Many Italian Serbian Georgian Bulgarians are like that.
When Ashley does these interviews barefoot 😍😍
#istandwithsharon
Is Ashley Graham white? I had no idea.
Yes. She is a white woman.
Why you did't know it?
She looks Hispanic to me, that's why. Mixed or something.
@@IamChristianicole She's pretty white to me. She is not as light-skinned as the Scandinavians but she is still a white woman. There are many similar ones in Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia.. She has European descent.
Ok
but wait. why was her card declined for $51🤔
Ashley Graham looks mixed race herself. Her skin isn't white, she has very dark brown eyes, and she does not have white features. Ashley has darker skin than Elaine's actually.
Many Italian Serbian Georgian Bulgarians are like that.
Wait...Ashley Graham is white??
Okay I thought I was the only one who had questions lol
Yes. She is a white woman.
Why you did't know it?
I’d love to see kylie Jenner.
Ashleigh Vlogs actually!!
The crabby timpani impressively launch because balance pathohistologically wrestle pro a craven lynx. onerous, ambiguous criminal
Ashley needs to control the convo because Elaine is very verbose.
I'm not even 10 minutes into this video and this conversation is EVERYTHING WE NEED RN!!!!!!!!!
Shot out to Ashley for bringing her guests outside there comfort zone but staying in there comfort zone. Ellen and Oprah are some of the few that are able to do that. Love her.
Omg! I idolized this woman growing up and still do! I’m so happy you did this interview!
I'll be back, can't wait to watch this with more time to spare. 🌹❤
I adore both of you so the fact that this interview happened.....GUUUUUURL!!! I can’t handle 😆 thank you Ashley for continuing to give such insightful interviews/conversations 💜
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 *O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G* ... both of you.
Elaine is just {{'no words really'}} she just 'IS' everything that IS doing
what needs to be DONE.
Words of affirmation, sis!!!!
So excited for this! Liked before I even started watching...okay back to watching ✌🏾
I loved Elaine's beauty column in Teen Vogue even before she became EIC
I needed this interview! Thank you, Ashley and Elaine!
YAAAASSS Currently reading her book! She’s beautiful
Literally been waiting for this interview!
I love how many of the crew listed in the credits are women
Elaine!!!
I’m mixed race. And raised as such. Loving both sides.. Ashley you raise your son as mixed race. You raise your son how YOU see him not how the WORLD see’s him. (Which just means what white people see when they look at your son) If your husband wanted a black son he should have married a black woman, but he didn’t he married you. Let me tell you, your son is mixed. Your husband may raise your son as a black man. But the black community will never, ever except him as black. You and your husband will cause your son hurt, harm and confusion.. And a world of rejection. I’ve seen so many other mixed race people raised like that just come to the realisation that they are mixed and having issues as to why there parents caused them so much confusion. My mixed race hero is Bob Marley and he said “I don’t stand for the black mans side, I don’t stand for white man’s side, I stand for God’s side” Your son needs love and proper guidance don’t start being flaky. You have a mixed race son. Raise him in confidence in what he is, and who he will become. This will happen Ashley your husband tells your son he is black. The first thing your son will do will is look at you. His white mother who is not being included in his identity. How can that ever be right. I say this with love.
I love this. As a mother of three mixed children your comment really resonated with me so thank you. Know that even if Ashley doesn't see your comment, it has made an impact on someone's life.
That’s crazy I have a really similar internship story too
Was taking notes the whole time! You two ladies are beyond inspiring. This show is my favorite thing to watch on UA-cam by far. Thank youuu! :)
i love you 2
I’m obsessed with this podcast, legit OBSESSED
yes ashley the kids are listening!!!
thats why i love your podcasts! i see a new perspective of like a girlfriend chat of those big deals☺️😘
As an African-American female, I appreciate your understanding of the topics about people apart of the mix and African Diaspora (even though typically we are all mixed). Thanks for this video and coming from a place of understanding and openness.
She’s so beautiful.. inside and out. one of my fave queens 💝
So inspiring!
OH ELAINE GAL YOU SLAY
