Can't beat that rock & roll music. Brings back such great memories of my high school years. Danced to this song many times. The 50s had the best music.
I danced to this on American Bandstand in 1960.... Man that was fun..Just got back from 3 years in Germany, What a great experience..... RIP Dick Clark......... Thanks for this great post.
No cell phones, laptops, four-letter words or any disrespect. Just kids enjoying the music and the times that at the time, they didn't realize how good they had it.
@@rhondaboncutter5812 YES, Such a great tme to grow up in. When there was no crime where I lived in Kansas City, we didn't need cell phones to report it..SAD.
Back when men wore suits and ladies wore dresses...this song reminds of my older brother and his grey suit, with black shoes and dancing all over our big wooden floor at our house on Saturday nights. What a wonderful memory. Seems like yesterday.
@@artfrank649 the 50's & 60's era was greatest music ever. I had a front row seat to the best era of all times. The music, the girls, and the cars. I try to explain it to the young folks today but you just had to be there

Oh, to go back in time! My cousin Patty watched us one summer, Mom was taking classes at UC! We wore out rug doing these dances! Music has been in my life forever!

Man this was probably my favorite hit from the 50s I inherit ed from my mom an her sister.....what a great voice thanks man for that great film preserving it.... Wow
Me too! I was 12 in 1957, 13 when this video came out. All my cars were white convertibles from the time i was 16 until I graduated from high school. I was known as the "tall blonde in the white convertible"! lol it was the greatest time ever, especially if you lived near NYC like I did.. 20 minutes out by train.
75 here, and love this kind of music! cruized my city in a 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS with a 425 HP, 409, Fire Engine Red, just like my Wife's hair!! those were the days!!
Music still matters. Old goats like you (and me) just don't get the music of today's youth, just as the old fogies of your youth didn't get the music (this) that you loved.
I love love love this time of life in the 50's!!!! There seemed to be an innocents to it. The dance floor was obviously very crowded yet they were still having a blast. It makes me feel so good watching these people dance the "Jive". I especially love it because the jive didn't have to be professionally choreographed like people who are in competitions. It was just the jive being danced by happy people. Such fun!!!!
Wow! Takes me back to elementary school when we all first started listening to hip music that our parents hated. Danny & the Juniors were so good. Thanks so much for this memory load.
In 1958 at a Jr.high School dance this song was what it was.Yeh I know if you were not there it sounds out of date maybe a yuky but It was what happening and If you could dance to this(which was not easy) you were in solid.Hail,Hail Rock and Roll.
Ive always said that - I wouldn't trade it either.. Being old just means that we were young at the best time ever.. the 50's and 60's... when life was awesome. If there is a reincarnation, my husband and I both agreed we wanted to come back at the same time in the 40's so we could be teens in the 50s and 60's.. I was 12 in 1957 and got married when I was 19 in '65... those years were the best, from 57 or even 55 to 65... then came the Beatle invasion and then shortly thereafter the hippies took over when the Viet Nam war took hold.
Growing up my mother always had the radio on. I was 5 years old in 1958. Many years later this record was playing on the radio and my mother said you used to dance to that song all the time when you were a kid. I guess it is one of those songs that gets you moving. I love it!
I got to say I was not from that era but I wish I was I love that music I love doo-wop oldies nothing like them I wish I could say I used to peel out when I heard those songs
