Me too! I was 12 in 1957, 13 when this video came out. All my cars were white convertibles from the time i was 16 until I graduated from high school. I was known as the "tall blonde in the white convertible"! lol it was the greatest time ever, especially if you lived near NYC like I did.. 20 minutes out by train.
75 here, and love this kind of music! cruized my city in a 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS with a 425 HP, 409, Fire Engine Red, just like my Wife's hair!! those were the days!!

I love love love this time of life in the 50's!!!! There seemed to be an innocents to it. The dance floor was obviously very crowded yet they were still having a blast. It makes me feel so good watching these people dance the "Jive". I especially love it because the jive didn't have to be professionally choreographed like people who are in competitions. It was just the jive being danced by happy people. Such fun!!!!

Growing up my mother always had the radio on. I was 5 years old in 1958. Many years later this record was playing on the radio and my mother said you used to dance to that song all the time when you were a kid. I guess it is one of those songs that gets you moving. I love it!

If there is a reincarnation, my husband and I both agreed we wanted to come back at the same time in the 40's so we could be teens in the 50s and 60's.. I was 12 in 1957 and got married when I was 19 in '65... those years were the best, from 57 or even 55 to 65... then came the Beatle invasion and then shortly thereafter the hippies took over when the Viet Nam war took hold.
In Parsippany NJ every labor day weekend, at the end of August, you have THOUSANDS of people who remember the 50's and thousands of people who have discovered this music later come together for the largest celebration of this music and the 50's culture. It's called LEAD EAST and if you doubt that this music and the great times it caused does not reach out across the years to now, just show up and you can see the real timeless power of this music....god bless rock and roll...!
Nothing can beat women our age.. we care about our men, take care of them, let them have their way, have dinner ready when they come home, and are real companions to them. We could teach these younger ones a lot about keeping their man, that's for sure! (I'm sure this will start a lively discussion! ha ha)
