PERFECT visual inspection Hector! Rose is so cute!!! She said "Can I tell my UA-cam friends something". So this video was made BEFORE the other one where she was dressed for the wedding? That bracket in the middle of the old wire, the one with the 10mm bolt, that is the body ground. That little wire that comes out of the new cable, connect another wire to that, then bolt the other end to the body, like where the 10mm bolt was on the old one. That's one of the things I admire about you Hector, you are not afraid to work on a car, and you are always looking to help other people, like the girl with the Focus.
Love the little camera lady!!! Awesome job kiddo ☺️☺️ I hope the wedding was super fun 💕 thanks for this tutorial, I’m getting my tools out now to try this. My cables need replacing.
Totally clean and easy to understand. Straight to point. Called on sizes needed, just superb. And great job involving ur kids. Always good to make em feel involved in dad/uncle/male role model time
What a team, well done Hector & Rose! For any of those little parts (battery hold down, tube clamp, etc.) try one of those pick and pull places. You can get original factory parts for super cheap.
@@NoneMechanic101 wait I dnt think you understand me because I didn’t see you connect the ground back to the chasis in the side of the fender where the oem cable was
I'm about to replace my negative cable on my '05 civic. My cable only has a stripped bolt on the battery terminal connector so it stays on by gravity alone pretty much.. I got an OEM cable and I was wondering why the hell the cable is uncovered on the last 4 inches of cable?! I saw that and was like, well, that's gonna be a corroded mess in, oh, about 10 seconds after removing it from the package. Now, I see.. I assume, it's so it doesn't melt and catch fire.
around 3:20 when your kid saw the rusty/corroded cable and she was just like "EWWWWWW" i'm like even people who don't know what rust is still know its bad just because of how it looks.
Great video partner, but please for your safety, take my advice on a couple things. Don't wear jewelry, and don't lay tools on the battery. When I was in tech school, we had a student there who had a watch melted into his wrist prior to coming to school. He had to have that watch surgically removed. With the tools on the battery, all it takes is a split second if an accident occurs for that wrench to bridge the battery posts. After that, nothing good can happen. You can damage the car, but more importantly, you can get yourself hurt. If that battery were to explode when it sparked from the wrench bridging, you're going to get battery acid in your face and eyes. Please be mindful of stuff like that.
Can you share the part number for the grounding cable that you used? You know, the one you installed off camera. The factory cable matches the one you removed, including bare wire where the cable connects to the frame, but the aftermarket negative cable didn’t have a grounding cable. Which grounding cable did you use?
Hi, this video is exactly what I needed. What is the battery ground wire called? I'm searching all over for it & cannot find it online anywhere. Is there a specific name I should be using when looking for it?
Hello hector !! Great video and awesome camera crew ! I’m working on 2010 civic but with the negative wire it’s split just like this one! By any chance can you help me out with just informing me on where to get these wires that connect with the 10mm bolt ? I’ve tried googling everything but I can’t seem to find them ? Thanks for awesome videos like these !

Rose is getting Silvia spoiled, lol. Every time Silvia does something, she says "Well Rose gets away with it, so why can't I" LOL.
I like how Rose is so good holding the camera for you, a lot of people do not even know how to do that, good video hector, great camera work Rose.
She's getting really good. She loves to hold the camera.
Bats, are you saying I don't do good camera work, LOL! I'll be the first to admit it, that's why Silvia does the camera work, lol!
Silvia is great with the camera
This video was really helpful to replace the negative wire on my 02 Civic. I didn’t even need to move the air tubing out of the way. Thanks!

Thanks for making this video. It helped me replace mine today and get it back on the road, I hope.

The original cable was different, it had a second connection point to the car. Can a different cable be used ?
The same cable
Should be used or something thing of the same thickness
