  • Old rusty Drill Restoration video
    This is Black & Decker BD 561 that I bought (3$) it from recycle shop with really poor condition. But after the restoration, it works very well and really powerful.
    I hope you find something useful & enjoy from this video!

    Mine is a KD664RE 500 W (from around 1990 ?). Looks like yours and I think it's almost identical. Thanks for the video.
    I'll see if I can get mine to life again. :)
    I usually soak machine parts (metal) in petroleum overnight it loosens and takes a lot of gunk out. A little paint thinner takes the rest away.

      Did it work?

      @@bricoda It did. :) The brushes were worn down to nothing and a ball bearing was changed. Now it runs like new.

    Good afternoon. Could you please tell me what the lever built into the handle of the drill is for? It can be seen at 0.43 minutes of the video. It's like a button near the power cord.

    • @bricoda
      @bricoda  Місяць тому

      Hi,
      This is lock on button.
      It locks the power button and makes the drill work without having to constantly press the power button.

    Lol. I found an old one in my dad’s shed but I threw out the charger because it was toast. I was just going to wipe it down and see if I could buy a replacement charger. May I ask what was the gasoline used for?? And what’s your favorite product for severely rusty tools ??? Hopefully not vinegar 🤗

      I would highly recommend soda caustic put some soap and soda in in hot water and put the metal in dipped keep it over few hours or night long bor keep boiled for a hour or less then wipe with brush and see it taken away all the rust dirk and sticky dust away BUT BECAREFUL SODA CASTIC is very dangerous chemicals. may be u can find better than this rust solution
