very good video! I have some suggestions: first - wash the motherboard with water and detergent without fear, then let it dry well in the sun or in an oven. Second- adjust the RF coil with the video game turned on, stirring with something that does not conduct electricity (plastic or wooden stick). Third - you need to protect the metal plates against corrosion either by electrolysis with zinc (you can find this inside 9v batteries or 1.5v batteries) or by using a rust converter that transforms the surface into a base for painting! Fourth - remove and measure Image capacitors which, in the case of the Master System Power Base, often cause problems with image and sound noise!

I love to see things restored to working condition and saved from landfill. It is just so satisfying.

The RF module has blown caps or something. Lots of Interference on that picture

I'm amazed that fired up with no cap replacement though the Master System is a very bullet proof Console. Get the Novus, plastic restoration kit. I just did my Master System with it and it looks brand new. The Kit will buff out a lot of scratches and get the film off of the plastic that soap and water can't. Solid stuff regardless.

WD-40, Liquid Wrench, or any petroleum based solvent should never be used on or in close proximity to plastics. The plastics will now become brittle and crack/break over time.

While re assembly, the casing still looks dirty, but otherwise good job👍
Plus the new decal could of gone with a good buffing of the casing.
Not a full restoration. I had one of these in better looking condition, even after you worked on yours. I was going to say something about the left direction on the d pad but I see you went left after finishing Act 1. I noticed the title screen & the map screen music was sped up for some reason.

    Nice job!
Still a lot of rust left inside which will continue to corrode. Might look into replating those metal parts with nickel.
And did you say you cleaned the board with gas? What kind of gas?

    • @bricoda
      @bricoda  3 роки тому

      Thank you,
Use special gas to clean electronic boards
As for the remaining rust, I was thinking about changing the metal parts with new ones, but I thought about restoring them

Your work was pretty good, but it could be perfect if you clean the housing of this console and the rust properly, there is still a lot of dirt left and the rust will continue to eat away at this plate.

@@bricoda I would replace all of the stickers so none are green instead of red. I would also clean out the remaining rust with an electric toothbrush from the plastic. Nickel plate would be good or at least grind of f the remaining rust and paint with chrome paint and a clear coat everywhere except the screw holes

Hi man. I can't found too much fixing videos for Master System, only yours and another one . One question, maybe you know how to fix this error? : Mine works good , but after 20 to 30 minutes of gameplay, the sound starts to fail, and get even more and more low pitched, until it start to sound like Crunchy. Any idea what is going on, and how to fix that?

Most of the job. Lots of effort here, the cleaning, restoring and video work. But leaving a rusty spring? Reusing rusty screws? Not spraying /treating the metal covers? Come on, do that last 10%

90 percent of the video is just cleaning the case, you expect me to believe the circuit board just worked without repair? nonsense
