These are super fun! A suggestion for a future episode: Have them guess what the LOCALIZATIONS of existing Digimon names are. So, liky, you show them a digimon and it's Japanese name, then you have them guess what the localized name is. A lot of the localizations are really dumb and I think it'd be funny (EX: Tailmon being localized as Gatomon even tho "tail" is already an english word, but then stuff like togemogumon didn't have it's name changed at all;' or like how Mercuremon got localized as Mecurymon, which then led to the ACTUAL Mercurymon becoming Merukimon, etc... I have so many more examples)
And a whole bunch of others are variations to said evolutions. If we're counting those, then definitely most of them are. I did mention some being just "of the same species" too.
I think a lot of greymon's were never supposed to be Greymon's in the first place, but the English localization team tried slapping Greymon's name on everything that even remotely could be related because it would be more profitable

Meh, at best I'd argue that Appmon are just a new type of Digimon. Sure, there are some minor differences, but they're basically the same in almost every way.

Digimon does like to have multiple versions of the same guy or have a bunch of digimon of the same species. There are like 41 Greymon.

The fact that there's not just a Troiamon makes Ancienttroiamon incredibly stupid. It did not need to have 'ancient' in the name.
It's a Ten Great Warriors, which are seen a progenitors of several Digimon lines, so the ancient part makes sense
Now they can just make a Troymon, the name's free. It's like how Skullbaluchimon existed before Baluchimon.
They need to do eosmon and gururumon next
