I was lucky to have the pleasure of meeting Nick, his wife when the twins were babies in a professional capacity. Beautiful family, friendly and down to earth. Such a tragedy what happened to Arthur
nick, i lost someone also, i just heard a song of yours for the first time, all i want to say is be strong, things get better, cry when you need to, laugh when you want to, and never forget....you have your fans to help you through.
I was lucky, I went to see family in Copenhagen, and went to this exhibition, just before flights were stopped. Not a particular cave fan but the exhibition was excellent.
Nick you could not have said it any better - since a huge Grief Stricken Day 10 Years Ago I have spent a lot of time mainly alone - and in my Home, Trauma absolutely changes us and makes us focus and realise what is really from our inner souls, and what is only fiction and drama!
Thanks for posting this clip, Tiny TV. The exhibition is one of the most extraordinary things I have seen or will ever see. Here in this clip, and as he does very often, Nick’s assessment of things in his life and more recently from a universal perspective is strangely calming. He makes sense of things for me so often, and reflects a lot of what I feel - despite his very personal take on things. Again perhaps again a vivid example of specificity having a universal appeal. Again - thanks for the clip - and I have subscribed to your channel as quality stuff is pretty important right now!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for your subscription Nick. I hope to have a bit more activity on Tiny TV in the future. Covid-19 has made it difficult for me to find the time and energy to pursue the best interviews. But hopefully the remainder of 2021 and 2022 will see some great things happening here 🥳 And we share the same strange fascination of Nick: He also calms me a lot. Like a father/big brother who's always there with great advice and perspective in words and songs. The exhibition is closing here in Copenhagen this August. I hope to see it at least 2 more times before it ends 🙏🏻 Again, thank you so much for this sweet comment. Really made my day! ❤️
In the Red Hand Files Nick always writes about 'real things' in life, his life & replies to fans-people their questions & reactions, such valuable 'written textes' to sub on♥ Love Nick, from Belgium
My mom and dad lost both their sons. They changed, mom never recovered. At their age, they refused to talk about it, just wasn't done in their generation. I know though they never, especially mom, were ever the same.
Thank you SO much for these kind words LAND SEA AIR ❤️✌🏻 I too love his relaxed honesty and everything about his newest albums. So nice that you took your time to comment AND subscribed to Tiny TV. REALLY means A LOT! 💪🏻😍
Cave's song "15 feet of pure white snow" almost seems to have anticipated the pandemic. It was certainly especially evocative and made me think about the situation when I heard it for the first time April 2020.
Wow! Nice observation 🙏🏻 I think I'll have to dig into that song again and hear it with "new Covid-19 ears". You have a really really interesting point here 👍
This is wonderful. I had to subscribe because Nick Cave always has something interesting to say and always suggests different ways of looking at life that I find valuable and wonderful.
Keep it coming Bøtter! Det tangerer jo næsten en gudstjeneste. Virkelig inspirerende hvor meget han er villig til at give af sig selv. Lyder "frelst", men jeg får sgu næsten gåsehud af at se og lytte til ham.
You know what? You're absolutely right Andrew! I fixed it now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope you enjoy the content on Tiny TV 🙏🏻 All best, from Anders Bøtter - Host at Tiny TV.
@@TinyTV_DK I agree exceptionally well written moving real and felt so deeply in my heart . Songs like this make me believe in the goodness and grace of our hearts and minds and our capacity to love as people.
The title of this clip is something of a misnomer, because he doesn't allude to the death of his son; unless being "practised in grief" alludes to it obliquely, although he might have meant something more general, or of all the people he has lost.
This pandemic should have brought out the best in us as a civilization. Sadly, it turned out to be quite the opposite. Instead, it laid bare the insecurities, the distrust, and the ideologies that divide people into an ‘us versus them’ mentality. Nowhere is this more true than in the United States of America.

I was hoping the same thing as Nick about the Pandemic (although I'm not as good a songwriter). Now I see that the world has never been as polarised as it is now. It seems people have been looking away from themselves more and more . I'm grieving for the end of humanity.
Humankind has endured plagues and war and starvation and the loss of loved ones before it's from biblical times and before that likely too it was niave of recent generations to think we somehow would not ever suffer as our forefathers suffered that our advanced technology would somehow protect us from potential devastation actually it's actually maybe contributing to it now we will fear robots and advanced weaponry and cyber attacks etc. and though medicine has made advancements they have made errors also and some don't have access to healthcare anyway.
That's NICK CAVE! That's NICK CAVE answering some of the most insipid questions I've ever heard asked. Good on him that he's being polite, but really. . .
Strange how these things happen to those who have fame, Mike Tysons daughter, John Travolta's son, Biden, Mia Farrow, Sylvester Stallone, Eric Clapton, Prince, Dre, Keanu Reeves, Vince Neil, Roy Orbison, Robert Plant, and many, many more.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment Metjammer. Really appreciate it 🙏🏻 I’ll be sure to turn down the volume of my outro-graphic a bit in my future videos ✌🏻
You may be right, but ... Knowing how much Nick has gone through in life (being younger, many dangerous situations in Australia due to being himself, appearance, behavior etc. Addictions mainly from heroin for about 20 years, amphetamines not much less, cigarettes and other drugs / substances , unhealthy lifestyle to put it mildly, probably depression, loss of a son and many other issues) is holding up really well, fortunately that he is with us and in addition he writes, composes, creates such beautiful masterpieces, is an incredibly wise and intelligent husband and father , probably meditating, working on his psyche and I could go on and on for so long. In my opinion, it is not alcohol, but drugs, maybe some neuroleptics or an ad hoc benzodiazepine, and it can cause (although I did not notice, certainly not very obviously as before), that he drank some alcohol before. You have to bear in mind that, as I mentioned, many years of addiction unfortunately take its toll and Nick can sometimes have trouble remembering the words when he responds at a given moment. Sorry, it was long, but unfortunately knowing what addictions are and my interest in psychiatry and psychology, I felt that I had to write this to you. Regards, a lot of health! :)
of course a "chick on speed" has no class or sense of reverent social etiquette. you should be looking to invest in a life transplant (like as in yours being given to someone, someone with tastefulness).
Maybe 🤔 Hair transplant surgery. Why not ? Everyone has rights to do anything he wants , especially healthy choices for your head and face or body . I am not talking about extreme , ugly things that some people doing with themselves ….
He's made no bones in the past about the fact he's dyed his hair black for decades. I'm sure if someone bothered to ask him if he's had a hair transplant, he'd just say he has. Go on red hand files and ask him.
Losing a child is a parent’s greatest fear and tragedy. Coming out the other side of this a calmer soul makes sense to me. If you can live through this, and get on you’ve managed a monstrous feat.🤍
My heart breaks for Nick and what he must have gone through during that terrible time. Respect for the courage of his honesty and perspective.
Poor bloke has been through so much.
A legend.
He's very articulate talking about things that people don't normally talk about

That’s one of the reasons why artists are useful and desperately needed in this world... ;)
