- We adopted a rabbit! Here we give the adopted rabbit a gift! It's the rabbit's first gift after the sandbox and the sticks! We really hoped he would like his first present and maybe, just maybe, stop hating us. The rabbit is scared of the present at first, but seems to warm up to exploring the tube, like he did with the sand box. The bunny rabbit seems to like playing in the tube at times, but not as much as he likes eating treats. Adopted Rabbit (newly named Pigpoke rabbit!) is still a skittish rabbit / scared rabbit, but we remain undeterred, and will redouble our efforts to win his love!
We love the little adopted rabbit, but so far, the adopted rabbit hates us. At least he finally chose his name - it's Pigpoke! We thought we were good at rabbit petting, rabbit feeding, and rabbit holding, and most other rabbit care activities, but we have now realized that we are actually not that good with rabbits, we were just good with Pipkin rabbit. To be blunt, after adopting this new rabbit, we realize we have no special rabbit skills, but we will do our best, and endeavor to get Adopted Rabbit to love us as much as we love him! Maybe one day we can even make a rabbit learns he is adopted video.
This is rabbit's first time receiving a gift / receiving a present after the sand box and the apple tree sticks. At first he was a bit of a scared rabbit, but he likes eating treats (maybe he'll do a rabbit ASMR video one day!) and that helped overcome his fear long enough to get in the tube.
We are still trying to get the rabbit to like us - bribing him with food and coaxing him with food. You would think the bunny would run out when coaxed with food, but he is still a scared rabbit. Maybe one day he will like making rabbit eating videos, or rabbit ASMR videos, or rabbit tries foods for the first time videos, or waking a sleeping rabbit by surrounding him videos, or a rabbit learns he is adopted video, but that day is not today :) However, the adopted rabbit is slowly warming up to us. He is sometimes a skittish rabbit and sometimes a mad rabbit / angry rabbit, but he does really like being a free roam rabbit / free range rabbit. He does rabbit binkies and rabbit 500s / bunny 500 (rabbit running like crazy around the house).

Bun is still adjusting with his new home! Some buns don't like to be held or carried, and sometimes it will change or it will not, for a lifetime. And that's okay.

My bunny also seemed intrigued more by men than women. 😏 I think it is because rabbits communicate in deep, low humming noises when they're friendly, so they like the rumble in men's voices, while we tend to make our voices lighter when we want to display friendliness... 😊

@@AntiKipKay He's not a "thing". His name's Pigpoke and he's a scared rabbit, who is slowly coming out of his shell, thanks to these two lovely people going slow and steady with him. Rabbits are not "things". They're living and breathing and have feelings. You'd do well to remember that. Animals are not unfeeling creatures for humans to do whatever they want with. They owe us nothing and usually act skittish due to past trauma, due to the hands of cruel, selfish humans who treated them badly. It's kind humans like the ones that run this channel who are actually trying to help him and give him time to adjust that are the reason I have any faith in humanity. I have a feeling you're not an animal lover or care much for animals, with such an ignorant comment.

Yes, Pigpoke is still a little skittish, but it's because he's still getting used to his new home. Bunnies are prey animals and it takes time to bond with them. Especially if they came from a bad situation before.
They are doing a wonderful time letting Pigpoke take his time getting used to his new life with them. They are very good bunny parents.
Bunnies, like cats and dogs, have very deep emotions and personalities.
Btw, just because you don't agree with Hamham there is no need to call them pathetic. That's just being pathetic on your part.

I'm so glad that you continue to show him so much attention. Alot of people would have given up on him, but bunnies no matter what need lots of love and kindness and nurturing. LOL! He is adorable for sure. Another possible gift he might enjoy would be a bunny buddy (AKA stuffed animal). Choose one about his size. My rabbits fave has been the stuffed platypus and a stuffed bunny. He frequently lays next to them and get angry and thumps if I toss them to the side when I vacuum. And he gets jealous if I pet the stuffed animals and not him. : ))

My chinchilla has a stuffed dragon that he grooms and sleeps sprawled over like a pat of melted butter lol. He gets mad if I move it while cleaning his cage

@@sashaconrad3939 I got the Aurora dragon and unicorn for my chin, mainly because they are the right size, but also because I can easily replace them when they wear out, and because they clean up so well.

I made a tunnel for my rabbits out of cardboard boxes taped together, with an arch cut in each of the short ends. It eventually extended round three sides of the room. I put blankets/towels inside, and they’d either lie on them in the tunnel, or dig them out, depending on their mood. Sometimes they’d just shoot round the room via the tunnel. If they ate most of a box, it was easy to replace. I would occasionally add a turret or a look-out. Have fun. X
The tube should be secured at the sides so that it does not roll when Pigpoke passes through it. I always take a brick. I've been doing this since one of my rabbits broke a leg because the tube rolled to the side

@@sup9088 Thanks for asking. The accident was years ago. The leg was broken high up. The vet wanted to euthanize. But we said: no, we will try. The leg was a bit stiff afterwards. But the animal lived happily for a few more years. His nickname was afterwards "Humpelinchen" German cute name for someone who limps.
Thank you for providing so much time and patience with Pigpoke. I hope he turns out to be as trusting and affectionate as Pipkin.
I give it a week *at most* before he's turned the tube into confetti. : )
He's beautiful and I too have an indoor bunny only 12 wk old and she plays with my kittens who are 8 wks old and the kittens copy her hopping around it's so funny and beautiful to see them wanting to hang out together , love from the UK 👍❤️🌟

Bonsoir OneMorePlease. Pigpoke a été un peu impressionné au début par son cadeau mais, je pense qu'il l'a quand même bien apprécié 😃👍. En général, les lapins adorent les tunnels. Il faut peut-être juste faire attention qu'il ne le mange pas trop car ce type de carton, contiens pas mal de colle, colorant et autre produits chimique 😮. En tout cas, vous le gâter beaucoup et c'est bien aussi de passer du temps avec lui afin qu'il s'habitue bien à vous 👩🙏🐰🙏🧑. Bonne semaine et prenez soin de vous.

You'll find him sleeping inside of it in no time. Winning an adopted rabbits trust is one of the most rewarding things. As awesome as petting a dog or cat is, petting a rabbit is such a hard-won gift that it makes my heart full to bursting.
