Alan Heavner here ...... The reason this is on our facebook at Heavner is that Nancy is one of Heavner staff and I am so proud of Nancy on our staff being a part of the Redford story. I have attended many movies there and have watched Nancy move up to this position at the Redford. Another amazing story not mentioned here is her Dad Gil. He still travels there daily as well as the Senate. He has been an inspiration to myself and many others as he has been there mentoring Nancy for years. Thank you Nancy and Gil for what you have given to us.
Fun Fact: The Evil Deads first premiere was held here because the filmmakers Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert are all from Detroit. Also the night almost didn't happen due to trouble with the reels being delivered, but luckily the reels were delivered by Ethan Cohen ( one of the Cohen brothers!) to save the premiere!
This theater is the BEST!!!!! It is also run by all volunteers. I have been attending shows there since the 1970s and continue to do so!
We need places like this. God bless it
This theater is absolutely gorgeous. Has an interesting history.
I got to go to an old theater like that in Ouhu, Hawaii, that showed movies right before they were released on video

IF I WERE A MILLIONAIRE I WOULD OWN A THEATER LIKE THIS.
Great works… and Great works
I wonder if they still play Gone With the Wind.
I grew up around the corner
built in 1922, during the golden age of movie palaces…minor restorations in 1941, 47, 52, 58, 63, and currently, to our present period of time.
My youth.
How old are you
Love it!-
Do they still show The Evil Dead here?
