As a youngster of 17 in 1977 I discovered the Stranglers and I followed them into another dimension of musical appreciation and was thrilled with everything they ever did. One day in 1983 I was walking to work in Boston and thought I saw JJ and Jett walking on the other side of the street and when I got to the corner across from where the Parker House Hotel is I saw Hugh standing on the corner! I was so amazed but I couldn't dare say anything for fear of ruining the purity of the moment. It was the day after the Feline tour and they were still in town! I will never forget that feeling.

My father who sadly passed, used to listen to the Strangler's all the time. Followed them on tour. A man grounded and stout. A punk, but reflective. The line here "he is gone forever, maybe I'll never find him, we all have to sit here watching weather" just sums up the feeling. He's gone. There's no heaven we can sit and chat again, but we stay behind watching the rain.

I've absolutely adored The Stranglers since I first heard of them 35 years ago. It's hard to choose from so many awesome tracks, but this would have to be my favourite.
