Hi there, I made the mistake to wish to do a lume mod on my B5000 and 6 gold color springs and 1 small rectangular metallic piece (the shape is like 2 arrows facing each other that are covered with a small composite white material or something else... is just too small to see it well) that has about ~2 mm came out after removing the mechanism from the metal case. Only the white plastic ring remained inside, the buttons, glass with solar panel. My questions are: a. 2 gold color springs that have 3.5mm each were in frontal side of the watch. Where the display is mounted on the plastic white frontal mask, right under it has 2 small holes were the springs were. Now I don't remember if they had 2 kind of buttons (for better contact) over the springs or they were there just those to create contact in between the mechanism and the solar panel. Can you please confirm that they weren't other parts covering those 2 frontal springs? b. 4 small gold springs I don't know where they have the place. Any idea about them? I believe that have the holes in the black plastic mask that holds the entire mechanism on the left side were on the analog watch will have the hours: 6 (here are 2 holes). 7, 9 (1 hole each) will be. But I'm not fully sure. Any video or pictures will really help or at least your advice. Going to a watch repair shop will cost half of the price of the watch or maybe even more... Could be more than this 4 springs missed? I have them all? c. That small piece with the shape of 2 arrows facing each other I'm suspecting that was placed in the white plastic frame that holds the screen display. I believe it came out when I wanted to access the back of the screen in order to place the phosphorescent tape. In that white frame that holds the screen on the back at the middle right side has a space that matches the shape of this piece, but I'm not 100% sure if it was from there and if when is in his place should be with those arrows facing the rest of the metal frame that holds the battery or not. d. They are others moving parts that I might had been loosed when I removed the mechanism that I'm not aware about? Any kind of feedback might help me! Thanks in advance.
This got me wonder if the newer crystals on the B5000, particularly those with glass vapour depositions, would delaminate or if the decal printing would peel off as easily as the early Marlins or DW5200 series.
They seem pretty durable by comparison. The B5000 crystals have a black protective layer over the graphical boarder and brick pattern. The 240 module C series basically just had the graphics directly on the screen and no protective backing. That was exacerbated by the fact that they also used an alarm spring that faced and pressed against the crystal. I've removed a B5000 crystal decal and the protective layer comes right off with a razor (of course) but based on how it held up I don't think durability would be an issue with regular installation, removal, and maintenance.
@@paulr1917 Oh, that's some great news! Never realized the B5000s' crystals had an extra layer of protection. I was actually debating whether or not to buy a backup crystal for my GMWB5000D-2 in case the graphics and the blue border detach/fade over time. However, given that the print is not directly on the screen, this indeed makes it more durable and preservable in the long run (as long as it is under normal daily wear and don’t mess with it).
@@fracarrillo1757 You can try Tiktox for genuine Casio crystals. I only use Casio parts so I'm not sure about aftermarket crystals from AliE or similar.
Hi Justin, I'm not sure, I haven't personally tried, but I'd be surprised if they fit. I believe the DW-5600 and B5600 crystals have some blue holding them in in addition to the friction fit.
A module swap is not difficult. You'll need some tool to remove the case back and I like to use a pair of needle noes pliers with protective jaws to pull the module out. The module is held it pretty snug but there's 3 or 4 metal posts sticking up from the module frame that you can grab it by to remove it.
I think the 5610 crystal is glued into the case and removing it is pretty destructive. They also aren't compatible with the B5000 crystals. To get a similar effect you'd want to buy whatever variant has the crystal you want and swapping in the module and resin you wanted.
It's a case press. This one had some production issues that I've resolved. It would allow the wheel handle to turn on the tube it's connected to and I had to JB Weld those together and also the center bolt that the dies screw to would fall out when fully extended so I've removed the limiters and put maybe 8 extra turns on it before putting the base back on. All that said, it's working now but not a great press. There are others designs that do fine too. I'd just definitely avoid any plastic body presses because the one I tried would flex and if you were pressing a crystal out it would totally smash it into the die like a meteorite.
Thanks for showing me how to do this. Give me the confidence to swap out my b5000 with the tfc crystal
Really glad you appreciate the video and hope you enjoy your personalized B5000

Can you put a sapphire glass on a gmw-b5000?
Yes, the B5000 crystals are all interchangeable so a sapphire crystal from one of the titanium models will fit in a B5000D for example.
@@paulr1917thanks, do you know where i can buy this glass?

do you have an idea if dw-5000 crystals are interchangeable with dw-5600e?

Is it difficult to simply swap the modules? I want to change a negative display to positive.

Would this be the same process for the M5610?
